Second time in but first time realizing they had pizza! They are included in the Pizza Passport and 6 of Pizza group were able to make the trek out to Festus for the latest Passport visit. We arrived and were seated promptly, the dining room was pretty full, but they had plenty of wait staff from what I observed. They have changed it up a bit since our last visit quite a bit ago. They no longer have the counter in the back to order and its more table service with a cash register and order station more for to-go and ice cream. Lilly was our server and she was really sweet and checked in on us regularly. Refilled the tea glasses often and helped answer questions. We were able to do individual checks by couple so we could use our passports. Each couple ordered an appetizer; we went with the provel bites. They were smaller than they appeared in the pictures I saw but there were quite a few in the order. They were a table favorite! Buffalo boneless chicken wings were also very good, as was the ranch that came with them. The onion rings were HUGE! They were decent, I like skinny ones so they were just not my type. I ordered the house salad with no cheese, it came out correct and had mixed greens, onion, tomato, cucumbers, and croutons. I ordered the small and it was still a good size. My pizza choice was Margarita, it is becoming a habit! This one was good, puffy, chewy crust and a good amount of toppings to compliment, I dipped the crust in ranch - only if the ranch is good! Another very pleasant surprise from an outstanding restaurant in Festus, Mo! Where do I begin? Just a few miles from the madness of the City, this amazing and innovative restaurant , Crispy Edges and Shakes is absolutely on my list of favorites now. With quite an extensive and varied menu, it is really hard to pick one dish. So the best thing to do is take family or friends, order different items, and everyone have a taste! I got a Cuban Sandwich and Cajun Fries. This was the best Cuban sandwich I have had since we moved up here from Florida 30 years ago! My wife got the Loaded Fries, which were not only loaded, it was huge! And delicious. My son got the Chicken Spiedini on Fettucini Alfredo. Also a very generous portion, the chicken was seasoned perfectly and the Alfredo sauce was absolute perfection. Our server, Sierra, was very good, helpful and attentive, and very informative. I think the main thing I was impressed with, is that they grow their own fresh herbs and some veggies right inside the dining area. The general ambiance is clean, well organized and spacious. Outside dining is available and has a separate bar. We love this place so much! I am giving them my personal SIX STARS for making this visit one of our best Anniversary dinners ever! My family and I visited Crispy Edges on a Friday evening. It was busy but not overcrowded, and the beautiful weather made the covered patio the perfect place to sit. We enjoyed the quieter atmosphere and being able to easily carry on conversations. Since it was our first visit, we ordered a variety of menu items. We started with the chicken nachos, which were generously portioned and great for sharing. For our entrées, we tried a large pizza, the Crispy Double with fries, the Chicken Bruschetta with loaded fries, and the fettuccine Alfredo. The standout dish for me was the Chicken Bruschetta, and the fries were easily one of the best things we ordered. The pizza was decent but could have used more sauce, and while the burger was good, it wasn't particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the fettuccine Alfredo was a disappointment--the sauce was extremely thick and heavy. If we return, we'll likely stick to the simpler menu items, especially the fries and shakes, which seemed to be the restaurant's strengths. Our server provided excellent service, and the restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained. I was so excited to try this place, but ended up being pretty disappointed. The photos we found online were pretty misleading. It has potential, the food wasn't awful, just not particularly flavored well. For example, the burger was juicy & cooked well, but tasted like a plain beef patty with (not even fresh) toppings. It's like it wasn't seasoned with anything at all. Same thing with the pasta- it was very cheesy but we had to add salt & pepper. It was also incredibly thick after it started to cool, you could flip the whole plate upside down & it wouldn't even budge. The nachos were good, we really liked the queso! We got a shake at the end of the evening, which was the highlight for sure. We tried the oreo & the banana & peanut butter, both were amazing!! Upon walking in it is well put together and very clean. The hostess seems over whelmed forgot we was up there for a few minutes. So we went to look for a bathroom and seen an empty table so I asked if we could sit there to accommodate my special needs son, she said sure. The menu is put together nicely we ordered fried artichokes and provel bites. Both were absolutely amazing. We all got burgers and the burgers were massive even the kids meals were!!!!!! The owner came out and greeted us he was super nice told us everything is made in house and they hand bread everything. The shakes are hand made as well and look amazing!!!!! My friend and I decided to try Crispy Edges instead of walking in a wind chill of below zero. Ian was our waiter and he said it was the second day of full service. Ian suggested the boneless wings and they were delicious with an extra crunch in each wing. My friend had a hamburger with crispy fries and it was delicious. Took my wife, daughter-in-law and granddaughters here for the first time. For a pizza place, the colors were all wrong. The waitress did a great job. Outside of her effort is was terrible. We ordered salads and one pizza and it took an HOUR to get our order out. The pizza was not cooked and was anything but "crispy!" It was soggy and a mess. They recognized this and made another small pizza which was commendable and appreciated, but that pizza was also soggy. Very disappointing that the main food product, pizza was terrible. My husband ordered the Festus Burger which is four patties. He loved it and had half for lunch the next day. Portions our huge. The Twist Buffalo Mac & Cheese is phenomenal! Our waitress was attentive. We never had to ask for anything. Our drinks were full and our food arrived quickly. The milkshakes looked delicious, but we were stuffed. The menu has a great variety. It was difficult to make a choice. The place was decorated nicely for the holidays. The place was busy but family friendly with kids discounts and menu. Easy to find and has a nice parking lot. We went around 11 AM on a weekday so it was not crowded. It is a newer restaurant so it will be packed during busy hours - plan on a longer wait if you go during busy hours. The inside is really nice. You go to the front and order your food or you can sit down at the ice cream bar on the side and order your food. They will give you a number you just find somewhere to sit and they will bring your food out to you. No need to clean up after yourself. They will come by and grab it from you The cheeseburger was awesome and I would get it again. Fries were just normal as for the shakes. They're a little bit on the small size. If you actually dump the shake into a cup, you would be surprised there's not much there. That would be my only complaint. Everything was delicious and I would go back. read more

First impressions on walking in is that it "feels" very industrial inside, it's a very large space with open ceilings and bare walls painted in white and black. It's not welcoming at all and feels nothing like a "pizza place." There are 2 ordering areas which was confusing, one to the right for sweets and various drinks and then at the far end a nondescript counter for food ordering. It was not at all intuitive and required me to verbally verify that pizza could only be ordered at the far counter. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pizzas come in 2 sizes, a small cheese for $13 and a large cheese for $16, and their "specialty pizzas" for $19 each. The no frills seating matched the urban chic decor, basic tables and uncomfortable hard chairs. The pizza was brought out reasonably quickly, though unlike most pizza places, they had no elevated serving platter to set the pizza on at our table. They expected us to put 2 large pizzas on our table, amongst our plates and drinks... 7 of us. We had to use a nearby table to put our pizzas on, and serve ourselves buffet style from there. The pizza crust was thick, doughy & chewy, I liked it. While my wife enjoyed the unusual creamy taste and texture of their red sauce... I did not find it to be at all like the classic pizza sauce I desired. They offer water and only one (large) sized fountain drinks... which I found off-putting with several kids. It is not set up at all as a family friendly restaurant, though all of the food I saw while there did look delicious... their cheeseburger looked so tasty. Girlfriend and I live nearby and had finally heard enough good things to get us interested in yet another wings/burger/pizza place in the local area so I did a semi large order today (she had a mushroom & swiss burger, I had a cuban sandwhich, and I ordered 3 appetizers to try, chili, 6 wings, and a pretzel). I don't usually write reviews so bare with me as I try to lay this out, we ordered around 3:45 pm or so on their website, the order page said it would be ready at 4:11 PM, I walked in at 4:12, waited in line because the one couple ordering in front of me must have made a lot of customizations or something, and let them know I was there to pick up my order, let's say they knew I was there at 4:15. At around 4:24 I finally got told "we're just waiting on one last thing, a pretzel it should be done in 2 minutes", after what I thought had been 2 minutes passed I set a 4 minute timer on my watch, when it finally went off I was ready to walk out and just chargeback through my cc, but she finally came out with my food (that had already been paid for mind you) by the time I made it back into my car it was 4:32. To make matters worse, my fears were confirmed, everything had been sitting under a heating lamp. Our fries and tots that we had ordered with our sandwhiches were mushy and cooled, g/f's burger was drier than the Sahara, my Cuban was dry but had a ton of oil on it from the melted cheese. To make matters worse, the wings weren't sauced (supposed to be garlic parm but were obviously plain), the seasoning on the fries/tots was unusually salty, and the crème de la crème was that the pretzel was still room cold and had some weird seasoning on parts of it (they have 3 options, we ordered salted, but I'm guessing they were out, scrape garlic/parm off and nuked it instead). As I said earlier, I do not write reviews on the regular, I felt compelled, specifically because I feel the owner needs to know to make corrections on staffing and/or training. read more

Well first it took 25 minutes just to receive out drinks then the tables that came and ordered after use received there food before us as well it took 137 minutes to get two burgers and fries a cup of macaroni and tater tots buffalo fries and a kids chicken fingers. My husband ordered the Cuban- if there is a Cuban sandwich on the menu that is what he is getting, I got the buffalo fries. Our friends got the summer salad, crispy chicken sandwich, and a kids crispy chicken sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised by the servings. The sandwiches were plentiful and the side of tots were perfect. My fries were kind of cold, but the chicken on top was good. It was clearly hand breaded- not some tenders or nuggets from a bag, with the perfect amount of hot sauce on them. I did need more ranch and think they should serve it with a side. The summer salad was so good. They forgot to put the chicken in it until I questioned not seeing any in it, but the fruit, nuts, and strawberry vinaigrette dressing made up for it. I wish they had a lesser priced option without the chicken actually. We couldn't leave without a bit of ice cream. My boyfriend and I will probably never eat here again which is a shame because we were excited to try it when we first heard about it. - They seemingly forgot about our order and the family's before us. They served people who ordered well after us and it took an hour to get a burger and pasta. - I ordered a shake that I was told would come the same time as my meal. Well apparently they called my name and I didn't hear it (again waiting for it to be delivered with my food) and one of the girls (I say girls because they acted like little kids) said because I didnt come get it they thought I left and dumped it. I went up to the counter after a half hour of waiting and was then told this. But later on I found they delivered the shakes to tables so I for some reason was the only one that had to go get my shake? - Finally after waiting an hour for food both the gentleman from the other family and my boyfriend went up to see what was causing it to take so long, especially after seeing people who ordered food after us already getting their food. When the other man asked for a refund, there were two girls in particular that were laughing at him and then when we asked for the same refund, they were also laughing at us. Ironically after we got our refund our food was delivered to our table and the same girls just rolled their eyes when I said we finally got it. We did take the food home when the manager said we could still have it since it was almost 8pm and we had been waiting. Unfortunately I also didnt care for what I ordered when we ate it at home (but this wouldnt deter me from giving it another shot, the disappointing service did). We LOVE THIS PLACE, as we eat here quite often. The food is AMAZING and yes, we have waited on occasion but it was more when they first opened. This food is phenomenal and at a reasonable price. People complain about the pricing... um, has anyone been to Panera or even McDonald's lately? Prices have increased all over so give these restaurants a break. And Panera / McDonald's food is not even close to the quality and the flavor of this food. Friendly and attentive staff. They recently changed so you don't order and have to wait in a big line. Me and my family attend this restaurant every couple of months or so, usually the food is phenomenal. Yesterday, we went, ordered the pretzel, and found a long hair in our pretzel. They took our pretzel off of our bill and brought a new one out. My grandma dipped her pretzel into the cheese, to pull out a small black hair.
