Pogolino's - Clown w edits! - Pizza Near Me - De Soto, Missouri

Stopped here and had the salad with one of the pasta dishes for lunch. The pasta dish was mid, it had sauce straight out the can and was more like ketchup. The salad however was excellent with a homemade dressing. I would go for the salad and skip anything with red sauce. read more

Pogalino's was the local hangout place when I was in high school in the 80's and it has passed the test of time. They make an approachable version of St. Louis style pizza. It has the thin crust and the pieces are cut in squares but the dough not so crispy and cracker like. They have generally good pizzas and like to support a local institution read more

They had a shopping day Festus I went with my wife. We stopped to get something to eat. We had the fish sandwich. It was wonderful so we went back three days later and had a cheeseburger there. I love the ambience of the place and everyone's there very nice. read more

We ordered last night and was told 25-30 minutes for pickup. My husband showed up and they said they hadn't even started making it yet and told him another 10 minutes. The salad was good and so were the mushrooms but the large pizza came out shaped like a football. Very odd and felt a bit ripped off. We haven't ordered for a while before last night because of this very reason. Always told they haven't started our order when we go to pick up. read more

Green peppers in meat sauce is just bad ! Especially for people who are allergic. You could be more curious and take the canned sauce back. A failed attempt at trying to be an Italian restaurant. I am born and raised Italian and have never in my 68 years understood why they put green peppers in the sauce . Not worth the money ! read more

Food was ok Nice sized portions and the prices were fair. Waitress never came back to check on our table. Finally had to get one of the other servers to get a simple refill. Note: Owner was quick to respond and ready to address the issues. It's great to see a business take action. Will definitely give them another chance! read more

I was very upset after trying the chicken! Very fragile and splintery bones. Will not be ordering that again! The pizza was great but not as good as it could be. Trust me I'm qualified. I weigh 600 pounds. This was my face after the chicken. read more

The restaurant was clean and cute, the staff were friendly. The food was ok, I wasn't a huge fan of pizza. The sauce and crust is A little bland. Salad and toasted ravioli were good and would go back to try other stuff if in the area again. read more

Not from around town. But this will be a must stop while coming through here every time. The lady that answered the phone and working the register is a true Gem in the community . Very very good. we had the cheeseburger pizza. Excellent service and care.,we will be back.

Found a gem in Desoto while staying at a resort. Great pizza and their fried mushrooms, yummy

Pretty good food and service along with the crazy clowns. The last time I was there they had some really cute waitresses also. BONUS!!!!

Best pizza in town. The Clown Special may be the best pizza ever! The service is excellent. And it's a very nice place for a good meal.

Family owned, 3rd generation, with the original family recipes. I love that they also pay it forward by participating in the Gift-a-meal project. read more

Pogolino's is our favorite De Soto restaurant! Great food, AMAZING pizza, friendly staff, and most importantly they are CONSISTENTLY good. I have frequented this local business for nearly 30 years and it's always a great place to eat, or take out. Try the CLOWN PIZZA! Yum! (It's their version of a deluxe) Thank you Pogolino's!! read more

This restaurant isn't just a pizza place, it's a staple in our community. My earliest memories include Pog's for weekend dinners. I actually worked there briefly and loved it! I highly recommend anything on the menu, it's all amazing! read more

Can't really give them a good or bad review. Best part is they're locally owned and staffed. The atmosphere is kind of cold, plain and cafeteria-ish. Food is not bad but nothing special. read more

Best pizza ever and wonderful Italian food, also one of the best spinach salads this side of Texas... The garlic cheese toast is amazing and I'm not kidding This is one of the best places in the universe... I have been going here since I was a kid and it hasn't changed, read more

Pizza is amazing, and wings are godly, the service there was also spot on, I really recommend this place for a family stop!

Great food, service, atmosphere and friendly personnel. Owners are super with their hiring of young adults.

Holla for hometown pizza! This is a decent spot to get your pizza fix - or pasta, sandwiches, and salad. Love the Clown Special pizza which has just about everything you could want on your pie. The staff are friendly and serve with a smile. They always make sure you feel welcome. I love this spot for large groups. There is a second room which can be blocked off if needed, and it's also perfect for catching up with my BFF for some casual chat and pizza pie. They are a presence in their local community too - which in my book earns them bonus points! PS: Don't let the creepy Stephen King clown face on the box scare ya. It's all good! :0) read more

Nice little restaurant tucked away a block off of the main street running through Desoto. Our neighbor asked to take us to dinner Saturday night so we accepted but didn't even know this place was an option. It's open seating but seats quite a few people. My wife being the professional wing eater, she opted for the hot wings and I tried the broccoli rigatoni. She was highly impressed with the wing sauce although I thought it had a little too much vinegar tang to it. Our neighbor ordered 2 pizza's for the kids and before the evening ended, I had to at least try one piece. Just an ordinary pepperoni, but a very good pepperoni. All and all was pretty impressed with our visit. Service was good. We will definitely go back for another visit. read more

Delicious food and great service. And an awesome atmosphere. Been a fan of this place since I was just a kid.

Awful service, the food was undercooked, the pizza was the worst, don't understand the hype. The server I had was the worst, and she should be fired. I will not be returning. read more

Nothing made in house. Frozen everything, except salad . Pizza under cooked . Stay away !!!

While visiting De Soto I was looking for some good pizza... I had heard about "St louis style Pizza" with velveeta style cheese... yuck. Well, thank god Pogolinos Pizza was NOT St louis style... Instead it was a traditional Mozzarella with a simple but tasty sauce, good hand tossed crust and quality toppings. I ordered a small ham and pineapple, they accidentally made it with sausage as well, they made me a second pizza the way I ordered it and gave me both! Now that is how customer service is supposed to work! Thumbs up from me, and if I am ever in De Soto again I will surely visit this Pagolino's for some tasty pizza... read more

Lovely local Italian restaurant- very friendly wait staff & delicious food! Loved the house salad & "clown" pizza -- but all of the menu items looked yummy. read more

For this region, a real winner. An old fashioned-feeling pizza joint, with some predictable pasta and sandwich entrees. The pizza, as another reviewer noted, was *not* St. Louis-style. The dough had a traditional rise, and the cheese was mostly mozzarella. We drive through this area frequently, and the pickings are generally pretty slim, but this was definitely good for a casual dinner. read more

My husband and I come here about once every other month for the broccoli rigatoni. It's our favorite thing on the menu. And now that we have a little one, we've passed down our love for this pasta to her as well. We've always received great service and the prices and very reasonable for the portions and deliciousness that you get. read more

I've only had their pizza, but it's really good. The crust is just right (thickness and taste), and they have a good variety of toppings. The service is friendly. I'll definitely go back. Addition: I did go back with some friends. Once again, the pizza was great. One friend had the gluten-free pizza, and it was so good she actually felt the need to confirm that it actually was GF. The service was great. read more

Great service. The food was a surprise. Great Pizza with fresh toppings and amazing crust. This was a pleasant variation on deep dish pizza. Hot wings executed perfectly crunchy outside tender inside with the right amount of heat. The waitress was amazing provided great ideas to experience the area for our vacation. Friendly atmosphere in this small quaint town. read more

I love Pogolino's! I use to live in the area as a child. Once we moved away, I had never experienced a place quite like it. Luckily I have family that still live in the area. So it's great to know when I visit them I can also go visit Pogs! They are still as great as I remember them, and eat here is often as I can! I highly recommend eating at Pogolino's any chance you get! read more

Great pizza and salads ,,, was a nice find and a very friendly staff. The local wines are really good as well.
