The slinger was good as was the chili that they topped it with. Everything else that the people that were with me looked good as well. Pretty small eatery that was quite busy, but they were on top of it. I don't make it out to Desoto very often but I'd say give it a try if you're out that way. read more

Had a late breakfast today....we are not from the area, but yelp helped us find this great little cafe. I had the full breakfast including the American potatoes with onions and gravy....delicious. This is a nice cafe downtown, across from the railroad tracks. We had a late lunch, about 1:30, but about 1/2 of the tables were occupied. I'd estimate seating for maybe 40. We had St Louis style veggie pizza, complete with Provel, and cut in squares. It was very good-hot and fresh. We ordered two appetizers-fried pickles and mozzarella sticks. Both were very good. The pickles were cut lengthwise, which is kind of unusual. The rest of the menu included burgers, sandwiches, salads, pretty typical cafe choices. I'd give the restaurant 5stars if they had more vegetarian choices. I don't think there are any vegan choices, except salads. read more

Waitresses seem to have a competition to see who can wipe the fewest tables! One even threw a dirty rag across the room onto a dirty table covered with plates and old food and just left it there. Nasty. I got a total of 3 onion rings that weren't in pieces with my meal. I suspect they were the leftovers from table next to me with the dirty rag thrown onto it. They tasted like they had been tossed in the fryer more than once. Avoid this place. read more

Clean Bathrooms Food was hot and fresh and despite my boring breakfast choice they also boast their version of the Slinger and chicken fried STeeno. Shredded hash browns. Stopped in one Saturday morning to grab something other than fast food. There was a couple table open so I picked on out and set down. I was immediately greeted by Bree and was given and menu and made my drink order. Before I could even look at the menu she was back with my drink. I ordered the double cheeseburger and fries (yeah I know that's no healthier than fast food). The burger came out and I can assure you it tasted so much better than fast food. The menu has quite a few option along with a full breakfast menu. This is a great little downtown small town restaurant that I'm sure you would find something you like. I need to get in and eat one morning and try their breakfast and if I do I'm definitely going to request Bree for the quick and great service. read more

Our food was very good. I do wish the roast beef was not the deli kind. The gravy was scrumptious! The coconut pie was heavenly My hubby had the mushroom Swiss burger and he was very pleased with it. My sister had the turkey club which was good but also wished it would have been real turkey not the deli kind. We would definitely come back though. read more

Love the Junction Cafe and it's our most frequented restaurant in De Soto. Always quick service, hot and delicious food and the staff works hard which is so appreciated during this day and time. The first place had mixed reviews so I scouted it out for my family; nope not doing it so we drove a little further and parked outside the Junction Cafe. Small town cafe, family run. It was clean, the staff was friendly and the food was great! While we were eating we learned that our friendly staff was actually experiencing multiple tragedies that day but still managed to hold it together to give us a great experience. Very unprofessional Young immature wait staff at times . In all fairness went there on three different occasions The last being the worst . They do not order supplies and when a customer asks for a certain condiment they react in a childish ,unreasonable manner to the customers request as if the customer was wrong to even ask then laugh and talk about the customer very loudly & don't bother to even go to the kitchen and do it. Who serves burgers and chops and runs out of A1 unless you buy one bottle at a time otherwise you would know when your low on your inventory and when to restock . The food is ok nothing exceptional I did not eat nor did I pay for my last meal there I expect more from a place of business there is a standard, In my opinion this place is substandard. read more

My husband and I stopped in this place for the first time recently. While it's very small and busy, it's got a nice feel to it. The coffee is light and smooth tasting, the staff seemed nice, and the food was delicious! Well, except for the chocolate cream pie. That was..pretty horrible. At $3 a slice for pie, you may as well just pop by Walmart afterwards and go home with a pie. Aside from that, I got the country fried steak dinner and it was delicious! The french fries were amazingly good--the flavor was similar to Main Street Cafe's, which I LOVE--the gravy and mash were both good as well. My husband got a burger and loved that as well. I definitely want to go here again. It has that nice little diner feel I've wanted to find for a while. I wish it was a little bigger with more seating since it gets so busy, but it's a wonderful little spot I'll be sure to visit again. read more

Turkey Club is awesome. Everything we've tried has been pretty darned good, actually. Although, the breakfast meal covered with gravy had raw onions and a slice of unmelted, cold American cheese (weird). Coffee is great. Ice Tea is great. Try the specials - haven't been let down yet. read more

Stumbled upon this new place today, and thought let's give them a try. I got the open faced turkey and dressing and the wife got the country fried steak, both came with home made mashed potatoes (yum). Both were huge portions for what they charge (shhhh, don't tell them). Service was a little slow and drinks didn't get refilled or offered to refill till after we were done eating. Stopped in here with the hubby for a quick lunch. The service was fast and friendly,even though we got the last open table at noon. I had the turkey melt with onion rings and the hubby had the burger royal with fries. Both came with a small side of surprisingly tasty slaw. My turkey melt was cooked to perfection. The onion rings are the frozen variety, but they were also cooked perfectly with no greasiness in taste or texture. Hubby said his burger was fabulous, and it certainly looked it. It appeared to be hand pattied with a thick lice of cheese and a perfectly cooked-to-order egg. Best of all, our bill for two people before tip was under twenty bucks. read more

It was ok. We went to Washington State Park for the day and stopped here for an early lunch. I had the French Dip. The roast beef was almost white. I'm not sure what grade the meat was, but it must have been low. I've never in my life seen roast beef like this. I couldn't finish the sandwich. My husband and brother both tried it and said it was not good. Their food was ok. Nothing spectacular. My mom had the hamburger steak and she said it was also ok. Brother has the Big Texas and husband had the mushroom and Swiss. All average. The very best thing we ordered was the appetizer...fried pickles. They were great. Pickle spears fried! read more
