Okay, visiting the area and were told of the St. Louis style pizza. Friends directed us to Gibby's as being the best. They do the pizza great. It's just not a style that I'll probably try again. My husband and I visited here a few days ago, we had a wonderful experience! We started with the tater kegs which are absolutely amazing! Stopped for the night as we are traveling back to TX. The hotel recommended this place for cold beers and great food; we were NOT disappointed at all! Manager was rude, when i asked to speak with her a moment, she said she was busy and didn't have time, and that i had a problem everytime i went in there, since i have only been in there naybe a dozen times in tje last year, i thought that was pretty rude, and i usually pay the full bill regardless of what may or may not have been wrong. Even tonight i paid $35.00 for two drinks and a hot ham and swiss sandwhich which i could not eat because i couldn't bite through it due to a big run of gristle running through the ham, it took 30 minutes to get so the onion rings were cold, i eat about half of them and the bread only of half the sandwich. Ordered 1 pound of wings and got 7 wings. I got them home and realized there were just a few so I weighed the 7 on a food scale and it was 8 oz, which is half of a pound. It may not seem like a big deal, but if you were to go to Subway and order a foot long sandwich, and they only gave you a 6" sandwich and charge you for a foot long. you would be asking, "where is the other half". I think this is bad business and false advertising. When they tell you, they're selling you a pound of wings, you should get what you're paying for. I called them about it, and there were just excuses about waterweight when frozen, etc, etc. they are still doing this to their customers. I paid approx $12+ for 7 small wings. Not a fan of Gibby's for other reasons as well. Smoking section (bar area) adjoins the non smoking section with no wall. So for non smokers patronizing Gibby's dining room, your smoking with the smokers across from you, while you're eating. --Enjoy! read more

After driving over 800 miles and just wanting to check into a room and order Delivery we had to wait 1 1/2 hours for our food to arrive. By the time we received it it was Lukewarm/cold. The sandwiches were pretty decent. Good flavor. Coleslaw was creamy and crunchy with a nice tang to it. Pretty good. Fried mushrooms were cold and started to get real mushy. They would of been good if ordered at the restaurant I'm assuming. In hindsight we could of unhooked our trailer and just ordered our food to go and went to pick up ourselves but would of been a hassle. This might be a great place to eat. I'm waiting outside until our food comes. Smoking is allowed indoors here, and FYI, the whole place reeks. Need to use the restroom? You'll have to pass through the smoking area, just to make sure you stink when you leave. As a bonus, if you go outside to wait because you have asthma and aren't looking to go to the ED while on a trip halfway across the country, there will be people smoking like their lives (deaths) depend on it outside as well. I feel bad for the employees. UPDATE: Food wasn't great, and wasn't awful. It was really great to be staying in a hotel room and not to have received napkins or silverware with our order. It's a hole in the wall with easy parking. Half the place allows smoking which makes it stink. Large menu. My MIL had the french dip and loved it. I had a burger and it was perfect! Smashed, toasted bun, cooked to order. Onion rings and fries I tried were just OK. My husband had the green beans as a side and they were SO good. Pretty good carry out. Food quality varies, but only once was it ever really bad. (That said, the one time it was bad, it was absolutely terrible). But they're usually pretty good without much deviation in quality. Everyone I've dealt with there seems friendly enough, so no complaints there. They haven't quite mastered the art of timing; when you order online and the website says it will be ready at whatever time, that number means absolutely nothing. But other than some issues with the website and the one time it was inedible, this place is pretty good. read more

My family and I were driving from Virginia to Kansas for a family wedding. We were in serious need of food, water and a place to cool off for a bit before hitting the road again. We picked Gibbys mostly cause we all watched and loved icarly growing up lol. No one in my family smokes but we sat in the non smoking section and had no issue! If you are that sensitive to smoke, not sure how you exist in the world! Our sever Sky was AWESOME and she was kicking ass the entire time. She was the only person working and had a full bar and tables and got us everything we needed! Food was standard bar food, little bland but no complaints! We waited for so many items i.e., our initial order, ketchup, a beer, the appetizer. Just pretty much everything. We had to illicite the services of both the hostess, and another waiter. New location in Eureka, which is the one I am reviewing. We have been in twice: the first time was within the first week of opening. It was packed and the wait for seating and food was on the longer side -- but that was to be expected. I ordered one of their marinated burgers with fries. Yum! I was hooked right there. The second time we went, it was mid-afternoon -- no wait time. I really would like to try their pizza (love, love, love St. Louis style pizza!), but I liked my first burger so much, I ordered another. Maybe soon we'll check out the pizza. This place is AWESOME! Gibby's offers a fully stocked bar and arcade games upon entering. The place is small enough that it doesn't lose its entimacy and the food doesn't suffer from patrons and staff being distracted. The staff is great and the food is good quality down home pizza/ burger joint style. The taco pizza is great and I highly recommend it! Walked in the door to discover unfortunately this restaurant still allow smoking in the building. Sign said please wait to be seated after about three minutes a waitress came by and said pick a table. The majority of the tables had not been cleaned off. Had to pick a table over in the smoking section where people were toking it up like a chimney. Initial service was fairly prompt. Took our drink order and took about another 8 to 10 minutes to get our food order. Ordered a buffalo chicken wrap in about 30 minutes later received a buffalo chicken sandwich that was literally just a hoagie bun and a piece of grilled chicken with a little bit of sauce. The waitress didn't catch that it should have been a wrap once she got it to the table. She asked if I wanted it replaced but at this point we have been here long enough and I needed to get on the road again. Only got one refill towards the end of our stay and it's because I asked for it. Establishment is obviously understaffed and I could hear the employees complaining about the issue. Seems there's a reason my friends that live in town don't really eat here. read more

Saw a special on domestic growlers to go. Asked about Michelob Amber Bock and if it fell under domestic. Was told yes and ordered a growler. The bartender came back and said the manager told her to charge me for a craft beer growler and asked if that was ok? I said yes and she said "I'll need to wash this growler it's been down here for months." It was a growler under the bar filled with something else? I politely declined and closed my tab. I then heard the same waitress loudly complaining about me in the kitchen and how I was "too picky." I collect the growler bottles and only wanted a new one from a new place but apparently that's not a thing they do. The service is great, just wish the food was. The first time I went I had a pasta dish, which was very bland. Clearly, there was no seasoning of any kind in it, not even in the pasta sauce. I decided to give it another try a few months later and ordered a Cuban sandwich. Somehow, this sandwich was just as bland as the pasta dish I had months ago. The Cuban-flavored chips I buy at the grocery store had three times the flavor Gibby's Cuban sandwich had. To top it off, the drink I ordered from the bar came to my table with a few dead bugs in it. I would pass on this restaurant unless you're looking for a meal that lacks flavor or if your tastebuds are dead and you can't tell the difference anyway. read more
