Chicken fried chicken

On way home and decided to stop in. This is an establishment that's been in business for a while. Walking in you feel as though you are stepping into a family home. Quaintly decorated. The menu is more home style comfort type foods. I had the chicken fried chicken, and was so pleasantly happy on how good it was. Not greasy at all. Perfectly cooked. Had it with mashed potatoes and corn, two awesome sides to pair with it. Parents had the catfish dinner, which again fried to perfection and not greasy at all. Good corn meal type of breading. A great stop and easy to get to off the highway.

Well ! We went back ! Not that great ! Going back to CB (Cracker Barrel) this place just has a lot to correct ! The place is way to large for the staff they have. Our waitress was very nice but there was no way she could keep up with the tables they gave her especially when she got a 9 top . It took forever for service and food. We had to ask for dessert, she never offered.. something all waitress's should do ! We did get the dessert which should have been served warmed up was not that great bread pudding. We waited for coffee for 15 mins. Never never got it ! We were done at this point ... ! The place just can not handle what they have built... we see several people leave . No one I mean no one greets u at the entrance. Very sad ! We will now take a 6 month break from this place .. Also steaks are sold at Market Value $30 for 8oz strip .. That's just crazy !!!

Receipt adds up wrong. Someone please explain this math to me?

Food was meh. Overpriced for what it was. Waitress was great. Trying to figure out my receipt and I can't make the math work. Anyone?

Nice new building with gorgeous fireplace. But service leaves too much to be desired. Staff walked back & forth and no one borhered to greet us until a young man finally asked to seat us. Drinks ordered but had to ask for straws and coffee creamer. I believe a good server would ask if we need these things before bringing drinks or at least when they deliver sodas. And did you know you get dinner rolls? Had to ask since three tables got some that were sat after we were. She didn't even ask if we wanted them. I was ready for the check before the food ever arrived. Foof was good but when you have to ask for condiments, food temp suffers. Def not 5 star service to go with 5 star prices.

Great food and service. Very clean. Philly cheese. Oops, i forgot to take a picture before.

The food was delicious. The service was on the mark. Fast, fresh & hot. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming. We will be back.

Two piece chicken dinner with salad, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, and rolls.

I was driving on I-44 around dinner time a saw a outdoor billboard sign for the Du Kum Inn Testaurant. The sign said they offered the best fried chicken in the State of Missouri. I thought what the heck! I will give that a try. I pulled over to the Sullivan Exit and entered the restaurant. This isn't anything fancy... they serve home-style food. What they do, they do very well. They were offering a two piece fried chicken dinner that day, so I selected that. The chicken was juicy and tender. It came with a side salad, green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy and warm rolls. This was a great dinner. I finished it off with a slice of home made cherry pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Try this place out.

Menu

Good breakfast, good service My husband and I had a good breakfast at this restaurant. I had coffee, eggs over easy, sausage, pancakes and a piece of rye toast. I recall liking the pancakes a lot. We ordered off the menu. The service is good. We arrived a bit late for the breakfast buffet. The server told us that the buffet would not be replenished; whatever was there was all that was available. We didn't want the buffet anyhow. A young boy arriving after us looked longingly at the almost empty tub of bacon on the buffet table. The server brought out more bacon, and the boy was very happy. I was pleased that the server allowed this family to better enjoy the buffet. If we pass through Sullivan again, we would enjoy returning to this restaurant.

I have to say I was pretty impressed with this place, it's nothing to look at pretty dated inside. However it is clean and the food is good and after a day of travel that is what my family and I needed. The staff is very friendly! They are also pretty speedy, I had the Strawberry Vinaigrette Salad, it came with rolls it was very good, super filling and tasty. My Mom had patty melt and she loved every bite of it. My Step Dad has the Saturday Special it was a Rib Eye steak metal he really enjoyed. We would definitely kum back in :D

This restaurant has changed to DKI steakhouse. Has great parking for a big truck or pickup and trailer. The food was fresh and tasted great. Will be back again.

Feel like home vibe and truly best fried chicken!

A true hidden gem, this place knows how to make you feel like home! It lives up to its name, "Best fried chicken in Missouri " The chicken fried chicken with mashed tators and steamed broccoli is out of this world!! Husband had the three pig sandwich (pork chop fritter, thin sliced ham and abundant bacon). Their Hand made onion rings are rare to find! When you bite into it, crust doesn't slip off!!!!! We didn't even have room for one of the home made pies! definitely next time we come back! Sherri was so attentive, sweet and pretty! Please tip your waitresses! Very comfortable atmosphere!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but we were honestly surprised by the low rating. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, our waitress was so kind, and the food was good! We enjoyed the salad bar, which had so many options and delicious ranch dressing! (We're picky about our ranch! ) The buffet had a great variety of Southern comfort foods, including mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, pork tenderloin, fried fish, and more. They even brought fresh fried chicken right to our table! We also tried the fried zucchini, which was delicious. Our teenagers, ages 17 and 15, enjoyed it too! Was everything seasoned exactly to our liking? Maybe not, but that's what salt and pepper are for! I'm pretty particular about where we eat, especially when it comes to cleanliness, and I was impressed! Even the restrooms were spotless and smelled wonderful. Is it fancy dining? No, but it was good Southern comfort food, served quickly with friendly service. We left happy and will absolutely stop again when traveling through! Sometimes reviews don't tell the whole story.

This is my husband's favorite breakfast. The biscuits and sausage gravy were amazing, in my husband's expert opinion. ( having consumed this dish almost everywhere) I had 'just avocado toast' (their no egg version) and it was very good. I suspect the bread was freshly baked and not from a commercial bakery. Now let's talk about the important thing. The coffee. They have a coffee, hot or iced called the 'Sweet Bourbon Brew'. I figured I was unlikely to get freshly roasted coffee with bourbon syrup from the nearby distillery anywhere else and went for it. It is AMAZING. I would come back just for this. Now, the restaurant itself. Live music on a Saturday morning. Kitschy, eclectic decor that was obviously quite intentional, and a DOLLY PARTON CORNER that has obviously existed for quite some time. Their motto appears to be a Dolly Parton quote. "If you see someone without a smile give them one of yours". Yes. It's that kind of place. They also seem to be attempting to control their carbon footprint.

It's the kind of place you instantly know you'll want to return to. This was our first time here and we were go glad we made the little trip down to Bourbon, MO! We ordered the bacon and egg panini, and it was cooked perfectly. Whatever homemade seasoned butter they use deserves special recognition--it added so much flavor and made an already great sandwich even better. Of course, the dessert case was impossible to ignore. Everything looked incredible, and choosing was no easy task. We finally settled on a pecan brownie and a sea-salt chocolate chip gooey butter cake slice. Both were fantastic, but the gooey butter cake completely stole the show. Hands-down, it was the absolute best gooey butter cake I have ever had--and I've tried many from plenty of bakers over the years. This single slice may have changed my outlook on life. They've set the bar so high that I honestly don't know how anyone else could top it. Warmed up just as the owner suggested, it was melt-in-your-mouth perfection with a tender, flaky crust and incredible flavor. Absolutely phenomenal. We will definitely be back again--and you should go too!

We even were able to buy a freshly packaged four pack of beer, and our waitress offered my husband an iced tea to go. I will definitely be visiting this location again the next time we make this road trip.
