Amazing authentic Mexican food! Great service and great people! Just passing through and found this gem!

was in for lunch with a small group and somewhat confused when all I saw was booths..? but there's additional space to the right to accommodate larger parties, so yea!! three couples, three singles, a few different checks - no big deal! I like when that happens :-) baskets o' chips, bowls o' salsa, icy waters, and drink orders and not long after some bean dip shows up amid the lively conversation and muted overhead... foods arrived screaming hot and fancy; plating looks a bit above the actual price point which is always a good thing. My steak ranchero came out as advertised; standard thin cut ribeye - seasoned southern style and cooked through - served on a bed of grilled onions, peppers, and tomato with ranchero and queso sauce on top plus tortillas, beans and rice beside... so good rocks margarita represents well; nothing particularly noteworthy since it's well liquor but it would be nice to be able to sub blue curacao for triple sec because, well, you know... blue! but mainly I just don't want to see any mistakes and I didn't. yea!! read more

We enjoyed dinner here. It is pretty affordable for the amount of food you get. I enjoyed my steak fajitas, and my husband's chipotle mango shrimp tacos were delicious. Beautiful views from the large windows and service was excellent. read more

Excellent Mexican food. Our whole family really enjoyed it. I got the mango habanero shrimp tacos and they were fire -- not spicy, but delicious. Prices were reasonable and service was solid. They gave free lollipops to our kids, which was a kind gesture. Overall, strong recommend. read more

We don't get down this way very often BUT we are back again, one year later. It's Monday and the place is busy. I ordered the Burrito Rio Grande. It was superb. My wife ordered the Enchiladas Verdes and she enjoyed the meal. The service was prompt and the food arrived quickly. read more

Had dinner Saturday night with friends good service delicious meals. I've been here many times always friendly food is consistently better than average. Also delicious. Plenty of easy parking near interstate 44 for those of you traveling. read more

The portion sizes were so tiny that everyone left hungry and the server did not serve us at all we had to grab our own drinks and he set a pitcher of water at our table and made us fill our drinks ourself they did not bring us silverware the whole time we were at the table and they bring us our food and left we had to get ask for silverware so we could actually eat we just had to ask for everything to get brung to us and we asked for the bill and they never brung it to us so we had to go up to the counter and ask to get the bill and pay so overall I give this place a 1/10 and I would not recommend coming here read more

Our food was fabulous, especially the carnitas con chile. You have a choice of red or green sauce. If you like spicy food, order the green! The pork was incredibly tender and flavorful. I had a street taco al pastor, the best I've had for a good while. I also had a pork tamale, which had a great homemade taste. They are a tad understaffed, so you have to wait a bit, but it's,so worth it. It's a cute place, too. read more

The service was amazing! The owner, Tony, made me his favorite hang over drink, a Michelada. Then he suggested the carne asada as a perfect pairing to the Michelada. Pretty bland nothing special. Nice servers, food came out fast and good portions. But as fad as good Mexican food- not so. As I said BLAND. I never salt my Mexican food. I had to this time. I went here with my extended family after a winter tour of Meramec Caverns. We had a group of 9 which the staff and kitchen handled with no problems. This place has a lot of standards and everyone was happy with their meal. Some highlights include the queso fundido appetizer, which was loaded with chorizo and covered in baked cheese. I had the chicken with ranchero sauce and queso on top. It was served in a sizzling skillet with the cheese and ranchero sauce bubbling and mixing together. It looked great and tasted as good as it looked. Don't be fooled by the slipshod looking sign or the fact that it sits atop a dispensary. Hopefully they'll spruce up the exterior sometime. I don't leave reviews often. But this was a last minute decision to grab dinner while we were in the area. I had a good feeling about this place as soon as I had the chips/salsa. Top shelf margarita did not disappoint. My husband had the enchiladas rancheros (with verde) , I had a veggie taco salad and seafood soup. It was all SO delicious. I took most of the soup to go. Hard working and delicious food. I am sad we don't live closer. read more

Best Mexican food in the US I have a very sensitive stomach my stomach always hurts when I eat out besides one other place but here I had no problems it was absolutely delicious I've been to a lot of restaurants but this tops them all and great customer service definitely we will be back! read more

Best I've ever been too, between the service and margaritas I've never explained better. Enchiladas and quesadillas blew me away

I visited with a friend who LOVES this place. The restaurant is clean and inviting; the family waiting on you is lovely and very gracious. I personally did not care for the food. The rice had corn mixed in with it which is not my desire. I ordered the Enchiladas Verde because I love an authentic Green Enchiladas. It contained an abundance of shredded chicken (nice) and yet the chicken was on the dry side and since the Verde sauce was very sparingly applied, it didn't adequately cover up the dry meat. There was barely enough sauce to taste; not even highly visible as they set my plate on the table. So, for me, the Enchiladas Verde were MEH. The salad was just shredded iceberg lettuce with a dollop of sour cream on it and no beans included with the meal, not that it needed it, but mentioned for comparison sake to other area venues. They did bring nice chips and salsa. My friend ordered guacamole and Pico de Gallo. The guacamole could have benefited from an application of ground cumin seeds, but didn't have that, so - OK, but ordinary, and the Pico de Gallo was good. I won't be back - not because the venue or people aren't nice, but just because I prefer other local Mexican FOOD or FARE more over this establishment. read more

I moved here from El Paso, Texas and after trying many Mexican restaurants in the area I gave up on finding any good Mexican food. It's just not the same in the Midwest. Until I came across this restaurant. The street tacos are phenomenal- exactly like what I've eatin in El Paso and jaurez. If you want authentic - give this place a try. The food was so good & authentic! They also have free chips & salsa and the staff was soooo sweet & attentive. After traveling on the road for 9 hours, this was the perfect spot to grab a bite & relax. The atmosphere is also very fun; they play good music. Buenas vibras for sure!! read more

We stopped here because of the positive reviews but the food was disappointing. We should have known better to have Mexican food outside of Texas but we were on our way home on a long road trip and figured we would give it a try. When I heard another customer order "cheese dip" instead of queso, I started to get worried. The salsa was very tomato-y without much flavor. My husband ordered a steak that was very fatty. My chile relleno was soggy and flavorless. The taco was fine. I thought the chicken enchilada would come with a white sauce but it's my fault for not asking. Top shelf margarita was ok but but it didn't have much of a kick for being top shelf. Service was fine but I'll stick to Texas for my Mexican food. read more
