I was so excited to try this place out. What a disappointment. I was at a reggae event at the amphitheater and couldn't wait to try the barbecue. Everything I tried to order they didn't have. How are you a barbecue restaurant with no barbecue. I should have know when the pits were not smoking any meats. So ordered chicken wings and fries waitress said 15-20 minutes....45 minutes later no food. While sitting at the table waiting for my food the table had a leftover cup from the previous people and the table was so sticky you couldn't touch it . I asked could she check the order and she said there are 26 orders ahead of me. Wait you haven't even started my order. I politely asked for a refund which took another 15 minutes and 2 people to figure it out. There was a group of about 5 workers just standing around the window where the food was/wasn't coming out if you are that busy and tables are dirty there has to be something you could be doing. Visited the establishment on Thursday at 4pm, when I first arrived that said they were having a staff meeting (despite advertising they open at 4pm). The staff appeared to be unorganized and not ready for the rush, nevertheless we ordered our food (oxtail plate with baked beans and turkey ribs with smoked corn and coleslaw). The oxtails and baked beans (served in a plastic cup) were way too spicy!!! The turkey ribs were cold and had very little flavor, the coleslaw (served in a plastic cup) was downright disgusting, the smoked corn was cold but had a nice tasting sauce. It took over 45 minute get out good, we were the first to order-and why did it take so long to get already prepared cold food!? I would not come here again. read more

Brisket was tender not on the level of some big chains nor was it seasoned the best. The bark could have had more seasoning there was room for it and would have set it off... I went here last night. The restaurant itself is poorly designed and cheaply built. The staff is very nice and friendly. The menu is very limited which is weird because most bbq places have a pretty extensive list of choices. I wasn't that hungry so my date and I split a whole chicken with two sides. I was surprised they served the chicken whole - it wasn't cut at all into pieces. That made it cumbersome to eat. The chicken was tasty, tender and moist. But they only offer one sauce?? No variety of choices? Got slaw and potato salad - both served in small plastic drinking cups. Potato salad was good but I've never had slaw that lacked flavor like this. As we approached the restaurant, we have three of us and a service dog. Once we reach the hostess stand the girl says she has to ask about the dog, which we then inform her she cannot refuse our service because of the service dog due to ADA laws. After we were sat we then saw another dog sitting right next us with no tags or training, the dog was going nuts over mine. We then sat for 15 minutes with no service and were walked past by waiters multiple times. As well as the tables next to us were having problems with waiters as well, but they had food. I really want to give this place a better rating because the food is amazing, and it's a small hardworking business, but to keep it real I need to review the entire business. Let me preface my review with the fact that Bobaque is housed and operated out of a small standalone building in the St. Charles community called New Town. When I say small I mean not much bigger than a storage shed, so I realize they have limitations, and when they get busy there is going to be a wait. Understandable. As aforementioned, everything I have tried from there has been delicious. The smoked chicken wings are big and tender, and you can get them tossed in a variety of sauces. The baked potato is enough for 2-3 meals and piled with chicken (or beef/pork- can't remember the choices), cheese, broccoli, a slightly spicy sauce and sour cream. The chicken and pork tacos are a treat on "pop up taco Tuesday." BUT (you had to expect the but since I gave them 3 stars) the business model needs fine tuning and lacks professionalism. The owner's children basically run the business, and they exude less enthusiasm and friendliness than DMV employees. The prices for menu items are inconsistent from day to day, the hours of operation are inconsistent, as if they wake up and decide that day whether they want to work (however it is a walk up window so I realize that weather can play a factor in this, which is understandable.) Their main source of advertising is social media, which is obviously smart in this day and age. However, the posts are often grammatically incorrect (lack of punctuation, incorrect grammar and spelling, etc.) This sounds petty, but when you are operating a business this is how you are portraying yourself to society, and it's not a good look. My last gripe is it's literally called Bobaque but they don't even serve Boba tea or boba anything, which is misleading if that's what you're into. Ultimately if all you care about is a good meal with smoked meat then give this place a try because you will not be disappointed. read more

Bobaque catered our son's 1st birthday party and provided amazing service, not to mention the food that had our guests raving! We have previously had a variety of items they sell, from chicken wings to pork steaks to racks of ribs, and everything has been outstanding! The wings are larger than any we can get from other local "chicken" eateries, and the ribs are well cooked and super tender, no need for a fork/knife here! Bobaque's proprietor, Chris, is super easy to work with and provided fast and accurate pricing for everything we needed for our gathering. He was extremely friendly and accommodating, even waiting past our pickup time to ensure we still got our order. If anything has been missing or inaccurate on an order in the past, he has made it right, and then some!
