Stopped in during the day for happy hour (11-6 during the weekdays!) and J was our bartender. She was great! Played great music, the deviled eggs were delicious and drinks were excellent. There was a live band setting up before we left. What a cute place and vibe. Can't wait to come back!

Deviled eggs are amazing!! - A tray of deviled eggs garnished with bacon, chives, and paprika, held outdoors with a background of trees and a parking lot.

Phenomenal! My good friend Cindy and I drove along Riverside Drive looking for a nice patio or deck to have brunch. We stumbled upon The Midwestern Main Street, grabbed the last parking spot and went in to check it out. The placard out front advertised the brunch specials that had us excited to go in. We were greeted right away and taken to the back deck overlooking the river on this beautiful sunny Saturday. As we were walking back, we passed the teeny tiny little kitchen just as the chef put up the most amazing looking chicken and waffles I've seen in a while. The chicken looked perfectly fried, crunchy and glistening with hot honey on a fluffy Belgian waffle. I thought that was what I was going to order until I saw the Southern Benedict on the menu. The same crunchy fried chicken on top of a biscuit and served with sausage gravy, buffalo sauce and breakfast potatoes. Yes, please! I asked for the chicken to be drizzled with the hot honey and that was the right move - it was so savory and delicious , I ate entire thing. LOL! I don't normally eat hashbrowns or breakfast potatoes, but these breakfast potatoes were really really good. Soft on the inside and crispy on the outside topped with flaky salt. Definitely worth getting ...nothing is an afterthought here, everything is made with care. I almost forgot to mention, for starters we had the deviled eggs and they were topped with candied bacon. These were absolutely amazing and I will get them every single time. We are really looking forward to coming back and trying the smash burgers which are on special from 2 to 5 PM. I think we're going back tomorrow night! :) I can already tell you this is going to be a regular on my rotation for brunch and lunch and can't wait to try the rest of the menu. I know my son and fiancé are going to love this place as well . This small kitchen is pumping out some superior pub grub. Congrats to the Chef and welcome to St. Charles! We're so happy you're here.

So peaceful, beautiful, and the perfect start to our morning! What truly made the experience exceptional was our server, Jenn. She was incredible from start to finish!! She was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. She made great recommendations, checked on us at all the right times, and went above and beyond in ways you don't see often. My husband is picky about biscuits and gravy, and Jenn kindly brought him a sample of the gravy first to make sure he'd like it...such a small gesture to some people, but truly made it special for my husband. She even sent us off with coffee to go, which we really appreciated!! The food was just as impressive. I had the traditional breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly, the potatoes were nice and crispy, Jenn recommended the ham, which was so flavorful and perfectly charred, so good!!! My husband ended up loving his biscuits and gravy! Between the amazing service, delicious food, and relaxing riverfront setting, this was easily one of our favorite breakfast experiences. Jenn truly made it memorable, and we'll definitely be asking for her every time we come back. Can't wait to return!!

What a charming cafe in the middle of a charming Downtown area!…read more It was freezing the morning we went in, but I was wanting breakfast - specifically pancakes. I had this place in the bookmarks and figured now was the best time to visit. Parking can be an issues in Downtown St. Charles since it is limited to street parking or public parking a few blocks away. We found parking right in front of FPC, mainly because it was a cold, Monday morning. We were greeted immediately, and inside was much smaller than I expected. We got seated right away though, and a good chance to really review the menu. I got a house coffee (delicious), and my husband got a Purple Haze Lemonade. We ended up getting a kid's pancake with bacon and scrambled eggs, Short Rib Breakfast Stack, and a Bomb Burrito. The pancake for my 2 year old was MASSIVE so it was a good day for him lol. The short rib stack was yummy - hash browns with runny eggs and meat on top. The burrito was also pretty good. Our breakfast entrees came with a side order of potatoes and while it was good, it got saltier over time so I might not get that next time. They advertise beignets, so we might go for that next time and try out their lunch menu!

Our server was great, she was friendly and efficient. They have some unique offerings, and I have been eyeing the chicken and waffles online. Shared that and Avocado Toast with no Feta one of my daughters in attendance. Had a bite of my other daughter's chorizo biscuits and gravy. I liked the pearl sugar waffle and the chicken tender, I was glad to have gotten the sauce on the side, it was too sweet for me. It was also on the Avocado toast but I loved the fresh greans on that as well as the poached egg, it was yummy. Nice space, good food, friendly service

I normally don't like leaving negative reviews, but something felt different this time. When we walked in there was only one other couple dining, and there was noticeable clutter sitting in the corners of the restaurant. It gave the place a different feel than what we remembered from our last visit. I ordered the Creole Breakfast Gravy. The biscuit itself was excellent--light, fluffy, and exactly how a biscuit should be. Unfortunately the gravy was disappointing. It tasted more like regular sausage gravy with a heavy amount of cayenne pepper and Cajun seasoning added to it. The flavors just didn't balance well. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict. One poached egg was perfect, but the other came out over medium. That's something a trained chef normally wouldn't send out, and it made me feel like the kitchen might have a cook working the line rather than a chef overseeing the dishes. I do want to say the waitress was phenomenal. She was very attentive, friendly, and always made sure our coffee stayed fresh and hot. Her service was definitely the highlight of the visit. We will likely come back again because we know this restaurant can do better. Hopefully the kitchen can correct a few things and bring the consistency back.

It's intentional, elevated, and alive in every detail. From the energy of the staff to the thoughtfully curated vibe that somehow feels both exclusive and welcoming at the same time. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a vision brought to life, and it's operating on a level way beyond the surrounding scene. Now let's talk about the food... because WOW. Every dish feels like it was crafted with precision and pride. The quality is undeniable, the flavors are dialed in, and the presentation is effortlessly stunning. And the sushi? A complete sleeper hit. Low-key some of the best you'll find, period. Fresh, balanced, and executed with serious skill. It sneaks up on you and steals the show, you won't even realize that you are in the Midwest. Pair all of that with an atmosphere that feels electric without trying too hard, and you've got something rare. An epic place, a real vibe, and a standard that raises the bar for everyone else. He made sure we were well taken care of the whole time. Despite this being in essentially a rich persons strip mall the ambience inside was wonderful. Beautiful decor, wonderful atmosphere. The food was very very good. Love farm to table and this place delivers that with elegance. I highly recommend this place for a nice night out. The prices reflect the quality you get. The 38$ pork chop I ordered was excellent and a lot of food! They handled a group of 12 very well. And from experience I know not a lot of places can pull it off but this place did with grace. Highly recommend.
