A two-man crew took 2 hours to unload 1/2 of 15' trucks with our help while other mover use the same amount of time and crew size to load the same stuff from 2 locations. It is partially my fault that we are running 1 hour late since we drive all the way from OR which we are willing to pay for the wait time and over time if necessary to complete the job. They greet us with very low energy and bad attitude complaining that they were overworked. There were miscommunication between the mover and dispatcher. So they thought we have 1 pod instead of 15' truck. They almost walk out from the job but we convinced them to stay. As a result, the truck was only half unloaded and I have to hire someone else to complete the job. Sad to have this experience for my first interstate moving but it is a life lesson, I guess. read more

Avoid this Company. I scheduled two 2 hour blocks of time with them. Although I received a confirmation email for the date and times I scheduled, they failed to show up and than ghosted me when I tried to contact them regarding their lack of arrival and to find out if they would be coming at all. I needed them to unload a POD that was scheduled for pick up the next day. Because they did not show up I am subject to a penalty by PODs to reschedule the pick up. Do not use this company they are completely unreliable and their customer service does not exist. read more

Never ever book this company if you love your peace. They have paid reviews on HireAHelper forum and are there for extorting money. Writing this note to recount for traumatic experience for our move scheduled on 08/12. The workers were in no mood to work, didn't bring tool-boxes, passed snarky comments like "We are not going to assemble your bed since you are removing the bolts". The biggest issue of bed disassembling and assembling took me 10 mins(my first time with a wrench) while they created a big fuss out of it without doing any actual work. We booked HireAHelper for our convenience and it turned out to be the biggest stress in our transfer process. Let me recount the experience in chronological order: 1. Crew arrival at 1:35 pm 2. On seeing the bed at 1:37pm, they straight away declared that they can't transfer the bed( Mood spoiler 1). 3. By 1:40pm, we requested to give it a try and they told us that they are not carrying the tool-box. Later they told that the basic tool-box is in the car. 4. By 1:50 pm, we went to society maintenance and provided them the wrench to disassemble the bed. 5. By 1:55 pm, he has managed to unscrew 1 bolt and told that he cant do others(Mood spoiler 2). 6. By 2:00 pm, I unscrewed 4 bolts while he is talking to his boss Sam. Please take note that not a single item has been moved from the elevator so far. 7. By 2:05 pm, a back and forth call with his manager Sam has started and they are waiting for the call to be finished rather than doing any actual work(Mood spoiler 3). 8. By 2:10 pm. we are frustrated by the negativity, lack of intent to do any actual work and snarky comments and told them to stop the service. We did all the transfer by ourselves for the next few hours, broke our backs and on top of it your team informs that there is a cancellation charge. Sending this email as the sequence of events and why this is the most disappointing service that I ever took. I dont know how big your company is or where the problem is in the system(Corporate/ Vendor/ Communication) but the end service that I got was beyond pathetic. read more

These guys were amazing and we used them on 2 jobs. We had moved from Az back to Wa. The first job they did was load up our storage unit (10x15), transport it to our house and then unload it. We forgot how large and heavy some of the items in there were and a 2 man crew got it to our house and called for reinforcements which promptly arrived at our house without delaying the job. They give a window for arrival of 0800-0900 which I didn't like but they were there by 0810, so we didn't have to wait too long. The awesome gentlemen who helped with this job were Justin, Christian and then Garrett showed up at the house. I completely trusted these guys with my belonging and the job was completed without incident. The second job was to unload the PODS when they arrived. This crew showed up right at 0800 and got to business quick. They unloaded 2 PODS in less than 3 hours. Again I completely trusted these Rockstar workers with my belongings. This crew consisted of Jared, Jamal and Urshken. Urshken also was the one who answered all of my phone calls and was professional, courteous and thorough. I list there names because they truly were some great guys who showed fantastic team work. They were all very respectful to us, our home and belongings. I would highly recommend using these guys, knowing that there are half a dozen employees who rock would set my mind at ease. Also, payment was easy by credit card once work was done, no surprise fees and very reasonable prices. read more

The worst move I have experienced to date. I've moved several times both locally and interstate and this company is the worst by far. This company was a "preferred" vendor through PODS, and had "good" reviews on the PODS site. Unfortunately, they dispatched irresponsible gents to handle our move. They scratched our wood floors when moving a large piece of furniture. Rather than stopping when they heard the scratching noise, they preceded to push the item another 8 feet. The response we got was "sorry." It's cool not like we are trying to sell this house or anything. Thanks, un-Helpful Movers. The movers also spent a significant time on their cell phones and generally moved like molasses. Bad value, bad service, and bad experience. Do not recommend. read more

I used this company for a small little move across town and found them to be both reasonable and reliable. They responded to a request on thumbtack, and I was a little skeptical about them based off some of their reviews. The owner was very nice and answered any of my questions and assured me that the movers would be at my place as scheduled, considering it was a time sensitive move. The morning of, I called and got a confirmation from the weekend manager that they would be arriving as scheduled. They actually arrived 30 mins early to the job. I was running behind and the movers were awesome about hanging out for a bit before starting my move. It gave me plenty of time to get organized. Once we started, the two movers worked constantly to complete the job. They performed every task I requested without question and were the epitome of polite, professional, and friendly. They were very careful with my furniture and with moving heavy items up and down the narrow staircase. In the end I was only charged for moving time, which was very competitively priced. Driving time, gas, and miles are not tacked on and there were no hidden fees. Overall I was very satisfied and appreciated their hard work. If I had any recommendations, it would be for the company to supply the movers with some additional items to help improve the quality of the move. They were lacking some tools they needed and a mattress cover and wrapping for the furniture would really help to ensure that things are properly protected. It would also probably help by lending towards less accidents and customers complaining about dings etc. Overall, I was pleased with their work and would definitely recommend them. read more

I'm kind of shocked by the reviews below, they must have hired new guys recently. The guys that I got were great. They were on-time, friendly, and fast. They got my jam-packed 16 ft. moving truck unloaded in one hour with only two guys, even with my problematic/narrow front entrance. I have some very large and heavy furniture too. The booking and payment processes were both pretty quick and easy as well. They're also the most affordable company that I was able to find (with decent reviews online). I'll be calling them for my next move. read more

Nice guys, professional and careful at packing. I had a ton of stuff to move and they showed up on time with tools necessary for disassembly and dollies for furniture/ boxes. Nobody likes to move, it's a really stressful and chaotic time for everyone but they did a fantastic job and didn't damage anything. Would definitely use them again! read more

I can honestly say my experience with Helpful Movers was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I used Helpful Movers for a move on 1/31/2017. The only positive I can share is that it was easy to schedule. I had scheduled two movers. One of the movers arrived approximately 30 minutes late so I helped the mover who was on time to begin my move. The mover who was late was polite and hard working. The mover who was on time was a nightmare. While he was reasonably efficient, he was consistently offensive. He bragged about arguing with a police officer and informed me he had emptied garbage from his car onto the street in protest. He made mildly racist comments during the move and continuously praised the winner of the 2017 presidential election, despite my indicating I did not agree with him and it was not something I wanted to talk about. I mostly kept my mouth shut to avoid arguing and finish the move as fast as possible. I tipped them against my better judgment. After the movers left, my apartment was in disarray. Because I was working as a third mover to expedite the process, I had not been able to direct the unloading. .Things were on their sides and all over the place. As I sorted through, I discovered that the movers had broken a nightstand and hidden it behind boxes so I wouldn't find it until later. Things get broken during moves. I'm bothered by the behavior of trying to conceal the damage. Additionally, I noticed that one of my two fans was missing. After an evening of sorting, I determined that the fan was definitely missing. I made an attempt to contact one of the movers directly and was dismissed. I then posted a review on the U-Haul Moving Help website. In the review, I outlined my experience and questioned whether the fan had been stolen. This elicited a response from the owner where he was dismissive, but promised to get to the bottom of the situation. After I spoke to the owner, he told me that the movers had broken the fan and had thrown it away rather than tell me. They assumed that since I had so much stuff, I wouldn't notice. The owner asked me what it would take to make the situation right. I asked him for $55 and he agreed. The number I came up with was based more on principle than actual replacement cost. He said that he would send me a check the next day. That was 2/2/2017. I have never received that check. I have made attempts on 2/19, 2/26, 3/6, 3/14 and 4/7 to get in touch with the owner. He has not responded to any of them. I am appalled at the complete lack of professionalism I experienced with this company and its representatives. read more

This company is a joke. I booked a uhaul and also two hours of their time through uhaul's website. I wanted an additional hour, so I booked that through their website and was told they would contact me to schedule. Sure enough, I end up calling myself, ang they somehow had missed me, when I had requested then for that weekend! They found two guys to fit me in, who were told the wrong time, and also did not bring any tools like I requested. Let me say, when you are on a deadline, and stressed as it is, the last thing you wonder is if your movers are going to show up!!! These jokers didn't even bring water with them for a 3 hour job!!! Then, their boss calls them to head across town to go do another job when they aren't even finished with mine!!! I complained to the company, who promised a $50 check in the mail refund, and no such luck. They have since stopped answering their phones and don't return messages. I know they are cheap, but seriously, this was such a headache. Go with a different and more professional company, as these guys may not even show up!!! read more

Do not use this company!!! Do your research, read reviews and shop around. Do not use the cheapest company it will show why it's so cheap. Generally the workers are hard working and respectful of property, the boss is rude, deceitful, and not the type of person I'd want to work with again. Workers have to drive mostly at their own expense while only certain jobs outside if a certain distance are given gas money. The boss doesnt always prepare his workers with the proper tools or information leading to time lost on jobs with heavy items, lots of stairs, or tough jobs. read more

These guys have 2 reviews, one 1 star review, one 5 star review, both within an hour of each other on the same date? Sketchy! I wish I had read this review & that I hadn't needed short-notice moving help. I would have gone with another company for sure. From minute 1, communication & professionalism were totally lacking. I gave the guys a tip, only because, with me watching them all day, they eventually got the job done (semi-)right. I requested small boxes, a wardrobe box, & tools to take apart furniture, all of which were NOT sufficiently provided as requested. Do not use this company unless you're desperate. read more

Carter and the other gentleman ( I can't remember his name) were so helpful and went above and beyond. They showed up on time and moved everything I needed them to without damaging anything. They were even able to drop off some big furniture at a Goodwill in the area which was not part of the original plan but I asked to make the detour and they helped tremendously. If all the employees are like the gentleman that helped me I would recommend this company to anyone that needs help moving. read more

These movers were awful. They damaged items while loading the truck breaking dishes and a leg off of a big dresser by dragging it, we supplied blankets, shrink wrap, bubble wrap and tape and they used none of it! They loaded our truck awful, my husband retired from a major heavy freight company and he repeatedly told them he did not like the way they were loading the truck but they would not listen to him and when we arrived at our final destination over 3000 miles away, our items were ruined. Leather sofa, leather love seat, buffet, sideboard, digital piano, too much to list. The movers on this end unloading took photos and told us the truck was loaded all wrong. I would steer clear as the owner would not return any phone calls or respond. We finally got a response three months later after we filed a BBB complaint and we are still pending outcome as we have filed a lawsuit. This company ruined thousands of dollars of our furniture. read more

Scheduled everything up with James. He was very polite and accommodating each time we spoke. I was a little skeptical if they were going to show because I had to change my reservation a couple of times due to my work schedule. Hired 4 movers. They were courteous and professional. The movers packed our ABF trailer nice and snug. Managed to save a few feet for us. Money well spent. I would not hesitate to hire these guys again. At least the four we hired. read more

Don't do it. The first time I booked them they didn't even show up. I called them and got the run around. I had to reschedule twice (my issue) because of work. When the day of the job came around, one guy was on time and the second was late (more excuses). They worked so damn slow loading a simple 5x8 storage unit into a 15" U-Haul that I thought they wandered off when I wasn't watching them. When they finally got everything loaded, one guy had to take a dump so I had to wait at my destination for them to get there. Again with the slow work. They went over on time by 40 minutes. I expected 20 minutes since of the delay with the bathroom but they charged me for 30 minutes over. Not a huge deal, but when you consider the poor service, a few broken dishes, it matters. In addition, the movers told me the seal was broken on the dolly AFTER the move was over, so I couldn't dispute it with U-Haul (I ended up begging and pleading with U-Haul to waive the charge and they did). When I brought it up with a complaint to U-Haul, the Helpful Movers owner went off the rails crazy denying everything. Probably a turnip, I mean trump supporter using his "alternative facts." Do yourself a favor and find help using Craigslist or Labor Ready; these guys suck. read more

Had them help me with moving me into my apartment. The crew showed up early to the job which was nice. They dealt with my furniture, boxes, all of my stuff, with care. They moved in a timely manner and made the move less stressful for me. I would call again when I move out of this place. read more

This company is a complete joke! If I could give a zero I would. Don't waste your time or money with Helpful movers. We scheduled a move with this company- they came in did a walk through, but did not have enough room in the trucks in the end. James gave us a quote and said it would not change even if prices increase - he made us go get a uhaul (on the last day of our move)- I had called him and said there is not enough room for our furniture and to make sure we had enough room we had to reserve the uhaul in our name (pay the cost). In the end the guys damaged so many items by shoving items in the truck just to make them fit. They said they had experience- maybe with small moves or just packing boxes. They were late every morning, left late on the day of the move, and then most importantly James, the owner, has not followed up on our claim! ( BTW- he promised me before our move he pays his claims- do not believe him and if he does not answer the claims calls soon he will loose his current insurance). He said he updated his insurance and increased the limit, however why do you not return the claim services calls! He damaged over 3K dollars of our belongings. Do not use Helpful Movers! read more

This is a follow-up. Pod2 has been loaded nice and tight. The guys were early and stayed until the POD was totally filled. As before, they were careful with my stuff and the walls and doorways. They even moved a dead freezer to the curb for me, which was not a part of the POD move! Above and beyond... The guys are great! James, the owner, is always available or gets back to me right away. He has again dealt with last minute schedule changes and done so very courteously and professionally. This has been the most stressful move in my life and James has been there for me when I get too flustered to think straight. Love these guys! read more
