Overall Good: decent price, nothing was damaged Overall Bad: the experience otherwise was entirely unreliable Background: I was moving from Vancouver to Edmonton to start school in the fall. I needed to move ~1 bedroom apartment worth of things. Pick Up: They told me that I would get a call from the movers exactly 1 hour before they arrive and that my pickup window was between 11am and 3pm. I had a hunch to follow up the morning of my pick up, so I called them at 8:30am. During this call, I was informed that the movers would arrive at 9:30am and that if everything was not ready to go outside the building, I would be forfeiting the $200 deposit. If I had not called, I'm sure they would have happily taken the $200 after showing up earlier than expected. Weighing Follow Up: I was told that someone would call me the day after the pickup with the weight of my shipment. Of course, I never received such a call so I called them EVERYDAY for 1.5 weeks before I was informed of the weight (and the price of the service). A different person would pick up each day, making the process entirely unreliable. Drop Off: I received calls leading up to the drop off with information about the supposed date and time. The evening of the scheduled drop off (Friday 5-8pm) passed without any word from the company and no movers in sight. Since I was not able to reach anyone at their office after 8pm, I figured they would arrive the next day. Later that evening at 9:30pm, I got a call that the movers were outside. The gentlemen showed up without masks (we are in the midst of a global pandemic!!) and it was 10:30pm by the time they were done. Price: Initially, I was told that there would be a 10% discount for students if ID was shown. I provided them with my ID. When the time came to review the invoice, I learned that the 10% discount was only if the shipment was less than 500 lbs. If your weigh-in came to anything over 500 lbs, the student discount was reduced to 5%. Condition of Items on Arrival : Nothing went missing and nothing was broken, so that was good. Overall: if you don't mind unreliable service during every step of the way (pick up, drop off, discount rates etc.), this company is right for you! If you hate surprises, STAY AWAY! Overall, it was marginally cheaper than other companies, so weigh out the pros and cons depending on your situation. read more

Now there is the lie I was expecting. Our home was completely empty and I told Save on Moving we are only moving furnitures. How the hell do you pack furnitures. Let me tell you one more thing, these guys walked in and the first thing they did was sit on the chair and be comfortable. This is after being late for 2 hours. On the phone they told the price is time multiplied by the hourly rate. We agreed. Upon arrival they added commute time, fuel 50$ (really??) and even 10$ bridge fee (I would not mind them driving I-90 instead). I'd be ok with that should they be honest on the phone. I told that I was surprised by the price. They drove away pretending they don't want to move me and returned back in 15 minutes pretending they do me a favor. They were playing this game of doing me "favor" all the time and obviously they billed me for the time they were doing talking instead of doing their business. On the phone they assured me they'd take care of all the furniture. That was the case when they came (after driving away and returning) and looked around too. But over the time they refused to deal with cases and a crock board. Upon arrival they broke a lamp and refused to pay for that in full (we negotiated 50$ when the market price is 80$). Lately I found another minor issues like "spare" details of a bed after they assembled it back. The final price was way higher than their estimate because of this hidden fees and doing too much talking instead of working. read more

We have call apon these guys twice now for our moves across seattle. Both times have been excellent. We had all of our stuff packed and ready to move. The guys were on time and very polite with professional mannerism. I was really sad to read the other reviews. We just had a very different experience. I would recommend these guys to family and friends. They also helped us around the holidays which is very hectic. But they helped ease some of the stress with getting the job done nice and quick and painless. So as with any move... be ready. Don't water the big plants before the move. I have moved many times and this was my best experience ever. Save on Moving was highly recommended to me by so many people that I really felt so lucky they were able to fit me in on such short notice. This was a very last minute move and Save On Moving was incredibly accommodating and gave me so much comfort and confidence that it would all get done. Pros: VERY reasonable pricing and 100% transparency regarding any additional fees and charges and how I would be billed. This was all explained in detail at the time of booking, then confirmed when they arrived and gone over again at the end. There were no surprises and zero chance of misunderstanding. The guys showed up on time (early even) and were very organized and professional and communicated their process to me every step of the way. They moved things with the utmost care. There was zero damage to any place or thing. They were professional, polite and friendly and very respectful. They even played with my dog for a minute. They went above and beyond with moving some really large and heavy pieces of furniture. This last minute move could easily have been a nightmare but because of Justin, Shawn and Michael it was a pleasure start to finish. Cons: None. I don't understand any of the negative comments on here. "Thugs"??? Really? These are the nicest, kindest, most respectful guys you could ever hope to meet. I look like more of a thug than they do! I recently needed some help packing up my kitchen and dining room for a remodel. The service was both affordable and professional. After receiving several quotes from different companies ,I decided to go with Save On. 2 people showed for with packing materials and did a great job wrapping the mounds of cooking pots, pans china and crystal. They returned 3 months later and unpacked everything. All of the boxes and packing materials were hauled away so I didn't have to deal with it. Coerced, intimated, and lied to. However you chose to move, do NOT move with Save on Moving Inc. Doing so, you will find that their business practices are not just misleading but fraudulent and that their staff is not just discourteous but thuggish. Unfortunately I learned this the hard way. I decided to do business with them after receiving a reasonable quote on a 1 bedroom move. But come moving day I was blindsided by a bill that exceeded the quote by $400, or was 2.5 times what was promised! When I talked with the movers about the disparity between their charges and quote, they told me to pay now and that the manager would refund any excess billing the next day. However, I only had the quoted amount plus an additional 25% available, and that's when they refused to leave my apartment. As they stood in my doorway they continued demanding more money, all while their tone digressed from rude to threatening. To get them out of my apartment, I was forced to write a post-dated check. The following morning when I called to speak to a "manager", to my surprise it was the same person I had talked to the day before. When I spoke with him this time, I was not only told they would not honor the conditions of our moving contract, but I was cursed at and hung up on. Since then, I have tried contacting them multiple times but to no avail; they have literally taken my money and ran. Beware of this company as they practice the age-old tactic of bait-and-switch in a way that is not just dishonest, but illegal. read more

I move from a 5 bedroom to a 2 bedroom. Single mom with two kids working full time. These guys were awesome. Thomas and Dixie were the best. The packed every thing up. Moved it to my new place and what didn't fit they went and put it in my storage unit. I really could not have gotten everything done with out these guys. They were very helpful even recommended a place to store my stuff. I now recommend them to EVERYONE who is moving that I know. I have read the reviews but it's sad that Yelp only posts the negative ones and not all. I read them ALL before making my decision I am glad I did and I will never regret it. I had three more friends who used them and was totally satisfied These guys had awesome customer service and I work in an industry that, that is the biggest part of our job. These guys made me feel like my stuff was theirs. They were great with my kids and it was a very reasonable price, which really came in handy considering being a single mom and moving is never really cheap. We used these guys for 2 moves in a week, once from a storage unit and once from our apartment, and both times they did a phenominal job. They were quick, efficient, friendly, and helpful, and did things to speed up the move so we wound up paying less. At the urging of Jeff, I am writing a review. First, as mentioned below by another dissatisfied customer, it is not disclosed that you will be charged for fuel or the time spent by the moving truck to go from wherever it is stored to your residence. Jeff will say that you should read the "moving tips" and everything is disclosed there. But what he doesn't tell you is that you can't blink the entire time you read all 21 moving tips. The "tips" flash on the screen and then move to the next "tip" every 5 seconds or so. If these items are disclosed, I must have blinked and missed them. Oops. Who calls a hidden charge a "tip?" Isn't a "tip" supposed to be helpful? My quote was for 3 hours and it ended up taking 6 hours. There were no packing issues. Nor has there been an explanation for why it took twice as long as predicted. ****************************************** Here is the "private" response to my review above provided by the mover and my comments back. As an advocate of transparency, I thought it was only appropriate to post this for everyone to see. He is right that I had a few bags and a few boxes that were not sturdy. Not sure how this justifies an additional three hours of move time. The other thing that he fails to mention is that I actually helped with the move the whole time. Oh, and the thing about not being able to find my apartment is flat-out false. I was waiting for him in my apartment while they were lost on the way to Ballard. He also told me that he had moved people before into my apartment complex on the day of the move. Why was it a mystery to him where the unloading area was? What a classy guy. I am especially fond of his comments about affordability at the end: ********************************************** MOVER'S COMMENTS "Heh Doug this is tom the guy that performed your move.Both your pick up and delivery addresses had long walks from the truck to the Elevator and down the hall ways on both sides.Your boxes were packed poorley with the bottoms falling thru and a lot of your stuff was in garbage bags and paper shopping bags.In other words you were poorley prepared for your move and did not read the Moving tips at all.We charge travel time to and from and back to our office as explained.You wasted at least 20 minutes at the delivery not knowing were your apartment was at and or the access to it,as we both went to the office to finally find out were it was at.No problem when I presented the charges to you at the time and we both (workers) Received a tip for a job well done.Buyers remorse ? or Another case of A Steak and Lobster Diet on a top Ramen budget ? The sad thing is that I actually had no issues with your work ethic or how you performed your job. I appreciate people that perform tough manual labor and I think you did a fine job. The issue that I have is with the gross inaccuracy of the quote provided to me by Jeff and the lack of transparency regarding the company's policies. Doubling a rental budget is not something that anyone is going to be happy about. If you want to point fingers like kids in a kindergarten classroom, let's not forget how long it took you to get to my new apartment. You clearly got lost. I chose to overlook that when I tipped you guys. I really wish you hadn't interjected yourself here. I had just recently used save on movers to move from Bellevue to our new home in Everett I must say I was very impressed with the two movers they showed up on time and they were a very big help in facilitating our move. We weren't quite ready to go we still had some packing to do and the guys jumped right in and helped us pack up the rest of our boxes also with lots of helpful hints on how to label our boxes. They also had wardrobe boxes which made transporting our clothing that much easier. The day we decided to move was not the perfect moving day it has been raining all day but that did not stop our movers they worked hard all day hardly stopping for a break . we were also very impressed with the care they took with our floors laying down moving blankets so they would not track any water or dirt on to our carpet. When we got to our new home in Everett even though we had hardwood floors they still took the same care and laid down moving blankets to protect our floors. The truck was unloaded fast and efficiently all of our furniture was put into place and all of our beds reassembled. We were very pleased with our move and we will be recommending save on moving to all of our friends and colleagues, thank you guys a job well done. read more

They were kind and professional. They cost the least of any local company (though it could have been a little more clear about the fuel charge) and Justin and Sean/Shawn made the extra effort to get my tallest, heaviest furniture up a tight, low-ceiling stairway instead of just giving up and saying it wouldn't work. They also gave good advise on what to do make my tall bookcase safe not to tip over when being on carpet was an issue and told me an easier way to get an antique cabinet's glass door repaired after I had been living the break for many years. The men that were hired to move four large item, I would describe to be lazy. Not only did they not get the job done, they took up the two hours of the time I was supposed to pay them describing how they couldn't get the job done. A reputable company would acknowledge the fact that this was a job they could do right away. I am completely dissatisfied with this company and the fact that we had to pay them for a job not completed. I cannot say enough good things about this company. Jeff and his movers were really amazing moving us from Magnolia to Shoreline. We had no idea how fast they were going to be. We had a tight budget and didn't want to go over the 3 hour minimum so we limited what furniture we were going to have them move to items that wouldn't fit in my truck. They were so fast, however, that we were able to get everything we needed moved and then some with time to spare. Everything was moved with 0 damage, even fragile items. The price was reasonable and the movers were all around awesome. That alone warranted the 5 star rating, but there's more. At the end of move truck inspection, I wasn't very thorough and a few easily missed metal pieces from the bed frame ended up not coming off the truck. I didn't realize until a week later that they were even missing until I went to assemble the bed. I called Jeff and not only were they able to locate them within minutes, but he personally delivered them to our house the next day. If you need movers, these are the guys to use!!! read more

Save On Moving did a fantastic job with our moving from Edmonds to Tacoma. The two guys named Justin and Sean expertly arranged all of our boxes and furniture, first in the truck and then at the two locations of a storage unit and the eventual house that we moved into. (It was a two-part move.) They were on time and made great time in terms of loading and unloading the things, covered everything with blankets, did not just toss things around, and worked to the utmost of their capacity. I really saw them take the care and time it needs to accomplish the always stresful task of moving from one house to another.
