This was the WORST company to deal with!! The owner states he is a man of integrity, but he clearly is not. I hired him for an out of state move. His truck was not big enough on the day of the move even though he came to my house to evaluate how much stuff I needed moved. He took my remaining items that could not fit in the truck and put them in the back of an open pickup, NO cover and drove in the rain. My very expensive Air Doctor had no cover and was filthy and scraped up when he arrived. When unloading my furniture, EVERY piece of furniture had Damage!! There was NO wrapping with plastic wrap and NO furniture moving clothes to protect my furniture!! I reached out to him, and he has NOT responded! DO NOT USE this company unless you want all of your belongings ruined!!! I would give negative stars if I could!! read more

On 11/3/21 I filled out their online form requesting a move date for 2 movers only (no truck) on 11/20/21. I rcvd. an email on the same day (11/3/21) saying "AFTER SPEAKING WITH US ON THE PHONE and confirming the move date...pay booking fee of $26.04 including paypal fee)". I WILL NOT USE PAYPAL, FOR ANYTHING and nobody called to speak with me. I have tried to call them numerous times but nobody answers, and their mailbox is full. I have sent many texts to which nobody responds. This company has never called me, so I did not pay the booking fee bcuz it says "AFTER SPEAKING WITH US ON THE PHONE...", but they have never called! ***I would be very wary of using this company*** I could not be more displeased with Seattle Select Moving. They helped me do a move a few months ago and it did not go well at all. When the gentleman came out to give me an estimate he assured me they could get the move done in 3 hours. I was told that Washing state law states that if they can't get it done in the time outlined in the agreement, the most they could charge me was an additional 25%. I told him that I did not think they would be able to get it done in such a short time, but he again reassured me that it would not be an issue. Come moving day, three hours was not enough. The guys worked an extra hour or so, then informed me they had to leave. That left me to finish the move by myself over the next 5 days. They of course charged me for the extra time, but left exactly when they would have been working for free. Almost all of my bigger furniture was damaged in the move. From scratches in my wood bedroom furniture to a large scuff on my leather sofa to a deep scratch in my glass table top. When they were rushing to get the stuff off their truck I went down to help. I was shocked to see that the majority of my furniture was not wrapped in blankets. Furniture was just piled on top of other furniture. When I contacted Mike the "boss" he informed me that because I opted out of the insurance, I was only able to claim pennies on the dollar for my damaged furniture. When the guy that did the estimate was going over the contract with me, he told me that I didn't need their insurance that they never have any complaints about damaged furniture and when they do, they just pay out of pocket for the damage, because they don't want their reputation to be ruined. ALWAYS PAY FOR THE INSURANCE - I was told later that movers don't want claims on their insurance because their rates go up just like auto insurance. So they do what they can to get you not to get the insurance they are obligated to offer you. When I contacted Mike the owner about the damage I told him I wanted the glass table top replaced. He of course told me the same story the estimator told me. Pennies on the dollar yada yada, BUT that he would be happy to help me out. When I sent him the receipt for the glass table top that was less than a year old, Mike told me it was too much money for him to pay and then insisted that he could get it fixed. Mike came by and picked up the glass and told me he had a guy that could fix it. Two weeks later I called for an update and Mike informed me that it could not be fixed. He arranged to have the glass top retuned to my house. When it arrived it was even more scratched and had a big chip in a corner. I was furious. I called Mike and told him something needed to be done. He told me he would check into it and get back to me. That was 5 weeks ago. I have called, I have texted and I cannot get a response from him. These guys really should be avoided. read more

I had Trevor, John and Alex as my moving guys and they showed up ready to work! Even though they'd had a rough day before, they got right to it and started moving out my boxes and furniture. They had great attitudes, super friendly. They packed the mattresses, furniture, tv and what not professionally and none of my stuff was broken. Alex and Will did my move today. It couldn't have been a better experience in every way. They went totally out of their way to make sure everything was exactly the way we wanted it to be. Our stuff was treated respectfully and moved with care. Some items were large and had to go thru small doors and it took imaginative ways to do. I was impressed. This review is so overdue, I should have written this months ago. I have moved *many* times in my life, have lived on both coasts, 5 states, 2 countries, many neighborhoods. These guys were professional, on time, quick, pleasant guys who actually gave a hoot about my furniture and my house. HIGHLY recommend. After my last Seattle move, with another 5 star company, we were unsure about what to expect. Our last move had 3 tornadoes come through our house, that wanted so badly to impress us with their speed, that they ruined everything in their paths. 1) Super easy to schedule. I even wanted to compare rates with other companies so I was a little hesitant at first. The person I spoke with pencilled me in anyways and just said to get back to them. They seemed really flexible! 2) My appt was at 8 AM, they called me at about 815 and said they were leaving their warehouse. A little late, but it didn't bother me. The start billing when they leave their warehouse to the time they return. 3) With every move, I expect a little damage to furniture; especially since my new place was a tight squeeze. I saw only 2 or 3 dings on all of my furniture total. Nothing too crazy at all, they handled my furniture with care. 4) Extremely hard working. Curtis and Chris were moving fast and never let up! My job lasted ~ 5 hours, I was impressed. 5) unfortunately my couch didn't make it into my new place because it was too big to fit through a door way. They offered to take it to their warehouse for storage but my homeowner was kind enough to make room. However, I'm super grateful for the option. Also, after they had left for the day, I realized I might be better off having it wrapped to protect it during storage... They came back and wrapped it and didn't charge me extra! So absolutely I owe them a great review for above and beyond service! All in all, it was a great experience and I'm super grateful for their hard work and follow through. This is the second time I have used their services and as always they have showed up on time with a cheerful vibe to be willing to help us move. They are efficient and fast movers especially when you are on a budget for the moving cost. The team is fun to work with especially with their sense of humor and keep a fun vibe as they work to get our stuff moved. This second time I got Curtis and Story who managed to move stuff out of a 900+ sq ft home in less than 4 hours...and found time to put our king size bed together during delivery. They were super quick, hard working, handled everything carefully (no broken pieces so far!) and stayed on-task. Overall, including travel from Lynnwood to Central Seattle, the job took just over 2 hours. We had quite a few issues with scheduling, wrong info and not hearing back, but they were addressed by the owner, Mike, immediately after I posted them here. While the experience was initially frustrating (except for the actual move), I really appreciated that Mike took complete responsibility and resolved my issue (very quickly, I might add). I know that sometimes things don't go the way they are supposed to, but I think you can tell a lot about a company based on how they resolve their mistakes and based on my experience, this is a really good company that cares about their customers as well as making sure that their customers have good experiences. I submitted an online request and received a call within a couple hours from Jake. He told me that there is a 4 hour min. on the weekends, so I changed the date to a weekday because I knew we wouldn't need that much time. I also inquired about the different charges and minimums and was told that there is a two hour min. on weekdays. In addition, I was told that if I got the truck with the movers, rather than just labor, time paid included the trip back from our ending location to their, but that if I got just labor the time ended as soon as they left our house. I was also told I would be sent a quote, but only received an $11 bill for booking. I called to inquire and was told that I would get a quote once I paid the bill, so I did, but never received a quote. I called twice to ask, to no avail. Then they showed up a day and a half early, on the initial date I had requested, not on the one I had booked (8a on a Sunday). I let them know that it was scheduled for the next day and they left and when I called to leave a vm to inquire on the main line, I never got a call back. I called later and spoke to Jake, who I had been speaking to, and rather than apologizing, he asked if they had moved everything- I told him no (who is ready a day and a half early?!) and asked if it was actually confirmed for the next day and for a quote (again! It is even mentioned as being a legal requirement on their site) and he said he would send it right away. I never got it. I called 3 times the day of the move and left a vm, but never got a call back. I finally had to text the mover who had called me the previous day to ask if they knew and he let me know that they were in fact coming. They called me 20 min before the move scheduled time and said they would be 30 min late. Then they called again a bit later and said they would be 30 min later- so they showed up an hour late. At the end of the job, they went to settle the bill and I was charged for 3 hours. Forgetting that they had shown up an hour late, I paid it in cash, but shortly after they left, I remembered so I called the lead and asked and he said that they charged for the time to get home and I told him that I was told that that time wouldn't be charged- he said he would talk to his manager and get back to me, but still hasn't. I am frustrated b/c they had such great reviews, and while the movers themselves were great, the company has been awful to deal with and I think we have over-paid- it appears that my concerns won't be addressed. Good movers, but the company doesn't appear to actually have the professionalism and integrity that they boast on their website. read more

Showed up on time, again very professional explaining exactly what to expect and gave an estimated time based on the contents of the home. Fast and friendly and the two worked very hard and were extremely careful. Not one item damaged in the move. They even assisted in moving a very heavy item from the previous move that we thought would fit in a spare room. Bottom line, if the mover says it will not fit, listen to him. Seattle Select called me within hours of posting a request on-line. Good. Yes he had the day I want to move available (one month in advance). Good. That's where the positive things stop. Whoever I had on the phone (the owner?) had serious difficulty talking shop with me or being a business person at all. He was a bit shifty on what time he could move me that day, using words like 'probably'. So red flags are already going off because other yelp posts say these guys are not punctual. I asked for a quote and he said something to the effect that 'we'll give you a written quote when we arrive to move you.' What!!?? So in effect if you book them and they show up and you don't like what they charge, you're screwed. I said "well it is a month in advance. I'd like to know in the next couple of days what you think it might cost me." He then back tracks and says "I guess I could come out sometime next week to look at your things." I explained that I really just wanted him to guess and that I understood if he couldn't guarantee it. But I did need a ballpark figure to budget with. He said things like "our rates are competitive" still evasive and so I had to lead him through his own business. "How long will it take you to move my 3 bedroom house with a piano, with 2 guys and a truck?" All of a sudden he's "Oh 2 guys and a truck, 3 bedrooms that's average of 4-6 hrs for $115/hr." I say "great that's all I needed." He sound relieved and starts apologizing for how busy he is today and yesterday he has all of these burdens etc.... What??? Dude I'm not interested in hearing how your business is such a burden and therefore you cannot be professional and answer basic business questions at the time you chose to call me. I would highly recommend this moving company as the entire experience was easy and stress-free from booking my move through completing the move. The owner Mike was very up front and transparent about estimated cost and length of time needed. He was detail-oriented by taking a look at my current apartment building first to get an idea of the time and number of people needed to do the move (former building is over a century old with no elevator). Mike was also easy to communicate with by calling or texting answers to my questions and confirming details prior to the move. On moving day the three movers (The owner Mike, and Trevor and David) had a process in place and were systematic in putting all boxes into the truck, followed by furniture, which allowed for an easy unload at my new apartment. They were very careful to cover all furniture and were very gentle with my belongings. During the move they were extremely friendly and personable and made the whole move enjoyable. My building was so impressed with them that the management even grabbed their information. A major plus was a discounted cost for cash payment. Even before the discount though, they were more affordable than all the other costs I was quoted by competing moving companies, and they cost less to have three movers and truck than other companies cost for two movers and a truck. I spent a bit of time entering data about the move online and then waited for someone to contact me to schedule my move. I received a generic auto response email "Thank you for sending in a request for Seattle Select Moving. We book jobs every day but are very limited because we have an owner on the job EVERYTIME. We will look at your date selection and see if we can get you booked as soon as possible." After this, I never received any follow up. No email. No phone call. These guys did a great job moving me today from my house into an apartment. I dropped the ball a bit and I didn't reserve room for the truck to unload right in front of the apartment building; which meant they had to unload from the turn lane (and cross the street). I was impressed that they rolled with the punches! In addition, I told them that it was important for me to not get my cloth headboard and mattresses dirty during the move and they definitely took that into consideration. If I had written this review the day after moving, it would have had a higher rating. At the time of the move, everything seemed to be going well. They showed up on time, were courteous and professional and loaded all our items in the truck. We asked them to disassemble and reassemble my son's bed, which they seemed to have some trouble with. I admit, it is a complicated designed captain's bed with shelving and drawers. But I did specifically ask when I booked the moving service, if they were able to take apart and put back together furniture and I was told yes. They unloaded everything at the new house and spent quite a bit of time in my son's room to reassemble the bed. I tipped them $120 when they left (on top of the $900 bill). My son was out of town so it was 2-3 days later before I went into his room to make up the bed. It was not put back together correctly and some of the bolts and hardware were completely missing. The bed was dangerously unstable and could have seriously injured him! The part that really upset me is that they never came to me to say 'hey we cant make this work." They just pretended that it was done correctly and left! To me that screams a serious lack of character. Upon further unpacking my sons room, I also found that they had snapped one of the side supports of his desk. Again - no word to us. They just left it there leaned against the wall, like nothing was wrong. I would not hire this moving company again. read more

The movers did not show up an hour and a half past our scheduled moving time, and nobody from the moving company contacted us to let us know what was going on. We had to call the company seven times before someone actually picked up. The lady over the phone said that the movers were still stuck in another job, and she wasn't sure when they would be able to come. So we asked if we could have the movers phone number to contact them directly, the lady said that she couldn't give that to us because that's private information. So we waited another half hour and then the owner called us, sounding mad at us for whatever reason, saying the movers were late because the previous customer had a garage sale, and that they couldn't come till 7pm(our appointment was at 1:30pm). We lived in an apartment building and were moving into another apartment building, we couldn't just move anytime we want because we had to reserve freight elevators and be considerate of our neighbors. So we ended up not using their service and slept on camping mat that night because everything was packed up. Not sure how this company maintains a 5 Star yelp review. read more

I had a great experience with my move. It involved 2 stops before heading to a storage unit, which came together pretty well. Jon and Curtis worked quickly and efficiently - and were a pleasure to deal with. I'll second the other reviews which mention that these guys work hard without breaks - which now I realize I should have told them to do. Tacky on my part. But they kept plugging away, for which I am grateful. Seattle Select Moving is definitely who I'll call when I move my things out of storage. Recently used Seattle Select Movers for my 1 bedroom move about 2 miles away. Besides being 2.5 hours late, the actual movers were wonderful. I originally received a call that they would be an hour late, then a text after they should have arrived, saying they'd be even later. Once they arrived, they didn't waste any time. I was paying by the hour, and it was obvious they were doing their best to get the job done quickly and carefully. It probably could have been done in under 2 hrs but the elevator slowed everything way down, no fault by the movers whatsoever. What I didn't realize was that I was also paying for drive time to AND from my place, as in, from their last project(30mins), and back to the company site when finished(15mins); this added on an extra 45 mins to my bill that I was not expecting. The total job took 3 hours+45 mins drive time=$460.00 before yelp deal (I did purchase the Yelp deal, $85 for $100, which they honored on the spot no problem). The initial scheduling process was a little frustrating. Scheduled through Mike, I believe the owner. He confirmed over the first call he thought they'd have an opening for me(which I was very thankful for,having been only 4 days out from move day). I then filled out the online form/application, but never heard back with an actual confirmation, which was very nerve racking. After multiple calls and voicemails to the company, I finally got ahold of them the day before, and thankfully they had scheduled me, just never confirmed.
