Based on a couple orders of the Pho, we had an okay experience here. I ordered to go. One beef in beef broth, one seafood in chicken broth, both with rice noodles, both extra large. I ran over to Food Maxx while they prepared my food and realized as I went to pay that my credit card hadn't been returned with my copy of the receipt back at Hello Pho. A little bit my fault, but still annoying to not have my card handed back by the vendor. Went back to Pho and my food was ready. I asked for my card and received that also. I also asked for a little container for some of the hot oil. When I got home I was happy to find some packets of sriracha as well as all the fresh jalapeno and other veggies. The soup itself was a little bland. My husband didn't like his meat at all - just wasn't great quality. He also wanted to add a boullion cube to his beef broth because he said it didn't have enough flavor. I enjoyed my broth. It was a lot of rice noodles for the amount of broth, but I thought the shrimp in it was good. The menu here was several pages long. The food items were also all pictured, which I thought was awesome. I'll probably mispronounce them when ordering, but at least I'll know what I'm getting, rather than making a guess. I'd come back to try other menu items, but I'll probably just get my pho from Kevin's in Walnut Creek. The name of this place is great, and it makes me smile every time I drive by. read more

This restaurant is very small. It has only 9 tables with 4 chairs each. I was glad I got a table. Their menu is easy to read and has pictures to make things easy for those of us that are new to Pho. I'm trying chicken Pho and calamari. The prices are very reasonable and place is clean. Food was very good and service too. If you want a quick dinner or Pho check them out. Great place for a warm bowl of pho and spring roles. I shared a large sliced steak pho, shrimp spring roles, and their beef teriyaki rice plate. All which was more than enough for two people. Wish they provided more than one sriracha and hoisin sauce packet though. The shrimp roles could have also been slightly better prepared. In the Concord area, I've walked into a few pho restaurants and asked if they have a vegetarian broth option and they always say no, only chicken or beef broth. But the other day I walked into Hello Pho and asked if they had pho with vegetarian broth and they said yes! Hello vegan pho! When we walked into the small restaurant I noticed they tried to pack as many tables as they could so it seemed a bit cramped. The tables were very nice with granite tops but they were really tall for me but perfect size for my BF who is 6'3''. I ordered vegetarian noodle soup with crispy fried tofu with seasonal vegetables (#60). My seasonal vegetables were broccoli, cauliflower and bok choy which I really enjoyed. My soup was perfect for the chilly weather and I was so glad they had it! At the time of my order I re-confirmed with our server that they use vegetable broth because these are the things you have to do when you are vegan - you need to double check and triple check! My BF ordered vegetarian fried rice with tofu and vegetables (#60) and fried tofu/vegetarian banh mi (#14). We checked if the fried rice came with egg but they said no...there is nothing worse than ordering fried rice and forgetting to say no egg! We also checked if the banh mi had mayo and they said no, so it was actually a breeze to order. My BF enjoyed his dishes but the fried rice seemed more like a side of fried rice and not a full entree. I had a bite of his banh mi and it was tasty but he felt like it needed sauce so he added hoisin sauce to it. We were happy for the vegan options but wished we could order a Vietnamese coffee or Thai ice tea with soy milk. I did ask if it can be made with soy milk but the server said no. But when I went to pay I saw they had cans of soy milk in the fridge, couldn't they just use that to make a soy milk Vietnamese coffee!? Oh well. I've eaten here at Hello Pho a few times now, last time as recently as today. The food has always been fabulous and the service is great too! While I typically go for Pho, I wanted to change it up a little bit today so I ordered the Hello Wings and Mi Xào Gà (for you Austroasiatic language novices, that's Chicken-Stir Fried Egg Noodles) and both were fantastic. The Hello Wings appetizer was humongous and incredibly good value for the price... Both my wife and I ate a bunch of wings each and we couldn't finish the dish. The stir fried dish was also incredibly tasty. While it's been a little while since I've tasted their Pho, it's always been incredibly good and the portions are more than ample to cover you for dinner as well. Very good pho. Good prices. Usual menu choices for a pho place with the addition of some bahn mi. I prefer to get bahn mi from places that make their own bread so passed for some seafood noodle soup (choice of egg or rice noodle). My husband ordered the veggie tofu pho. The pho came with a good pile of bean sprouts, peppers, basil and cilantro. Broths were simple but very satisfying. No overpowering taste of star anise. Veggie pho was full of veggies. Seafood pho had a good amount of seafood. Kids loved the rice and grilled chicken plate. Place is clean and nicer than we expected. Eh. I was not impressed with the food and the fact that it came with a San Francisco price was just insult to injury. I opted for a large pho and was disappointed to find that the noodle to meat ratio was 2:1, if that. Not having a little bit of everything per spoon really affected the whole experience for me. I also had a little bite of my parents dishes. The charbroiled pork on their vermicelli dishes was nicely flavored but also paper thin. What's with the meat skimping? The egg rolls that accompanied the dish were also tiny. Instead of delicious fried rice paper wrapped egg rolls, they were more like lumpia - nothing against lumpia, of course. Today my boyfriend and I had planned to just stop at Subway after a day of quick errands and when we saw the Pho sign, we took a turn and looked at the menu. Best decision ever. Everything looked delicious. My boyfriend was craving any kind of pho soup and I love chicken dishes. So we went inside and the place was clean and all of the workers are very quick! We ordered the Chicken noodle pho for my boyfriend, a side of pot stickers and the lemon grass chicken over rice for myself. The service was quick and the food was delicious! Since my first review, I've gone to Hello Pho for lunch around 10 times. The Pho is very consistent each time, and service is always very fast. Like I mentioned in my first review, it's not the best Pho broth I've ever had, but it's tasty and a perfect spot for lunch. Like a lot of Vietnamese places, there is a minimum credit/debit charge of $10. They do make exceptions, but those card fees kill small businesses like these, so bring cash if you can! read more

Found this location due to the high ratings. Upon entering we noticed a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 babies both in high chairs. We were a family of 3 and a 6 month old baby. Reason for 1 star, Suggesting a booster seat for my 6 month old son. The booster seat is not designed for babies. They asked how many, we said 3 and a high chair. They said sorry we don't have anymore high chairs. Would you like a booster seat, they asked. We declined. We could not have jeopardized our sons safety. We are pho aficionados. We've tried at least 10 pho places in the greater East Bay area. We FINALLY have found our go to Pho place, and it's Hello Pho. Amazing Pho, great rice/meat dishes, good high quality meat in the soups and the rice dishes (we got the pork chops and chicken wing combo). Wontons in the pho were also very high quality. Additional plus--they have bahn mi sandwiches. It's unusual to find both sandwiches and soup in the same place. I would have given this place 4 stars, but the ice coffee came in Dixie cup...okay, it was alittle bit bigger but it was small. Granted, it is probably the same amount of ice coffee you get at another Vietnamese restaurant, but put it in a bigger cup and just add ice to it. The ice coffee was good and strong tho. The food here is the best! We have ordered chicken fried rice, beef curry, egg roll and grilled pork banh mi and I must say, they are all too die for! The chicken fried rice is so tasty that just having it by itself is good enough. The beef curry has the right amount of flavor to it as well, not too overwhelming like those ones I've had before. Ordered to go, owner gave me iced water while waiting. Waited a while but I was in no hurry. The spring rolls were freshly made, peanut sauce was on the runny side but still delicious. Ordered grilled pork, it was ok, nothing special. Ordered Korean Short ribs over rice which I thought was a BBQ dish but it was a soup. It was also delicious. Restaurant is clean, didn't check the restroom though. Not much people eating in but they had a couple of call in orders. No deliveries but its close to where I live. We needed some food after visiting our new nephew in Concord. We decided to place a pick up order and was told that the pho wasn't that great but, their banh mi were hitters. Because of that we all decided to order items that weren't pho except my partner. I ordered the combo plate and it was the typical combination rice plate you get from other vietnamese restaurants. The pork chop was nice and tender but, there were a lot of fat that came along with the pork chop. The fried chicken was good but, what put it a notch higher in tastes was the vienamese pepper they adde don top. Not many places have these peppers, I've only found 2 or 3 restaurants that actually have it, it's like Tuong Ot Toi but, not mushy/saucy. it's smack sauce. My partner's sister ordered the vermicelli bowl and didn't like it. The noodles were still super hard but, by the time she took the first bite it was too late to cook it more because the fish sauce was already dumped over the dish. My partner's pho tasted okay with the meat being really tender.. granted since we ordered take out she prepared and reheated everything on the stove before she dug in. read more

First time trying this place out. Was greeted the second I walked in and was promptly seated. They have a good selection of Pho, Bun and rice dishes. Reasonably priced as well. The bread was the perfect combination if chewy and soft. Beef Pho was very tasty. Good broth, could have used just a little more salt and flavor, may be because of the leaner cuts I ordered .
