Chicken Brittany

I can't believe it's the first time I've been to Hedges for dinner, but it was our anniversary so I thought it was a special night and a good night to go there! Being that it's a Friday night in the summer, I got a reservation a few days in advance and they had a 7 PM so I took that. They suggested that we come early and sit out on the Adirondack chairs or picnic tables with a drink and enjoy the lake, which we did. It was beautiful. They have a huge bar and there was a band playing nice oldies and blues tunes. We were able to get a table right next to the window, which was nice. I was told that the lobster bisque was something to order so even on a hot summer night, we both ordered it and it was fantastic! So creamy and delicious and with nice chunks of lobster in it. Wifey ordered the Chicken Brittany, which is kind of a thicker version of a chicken French. She really enjoyed that and only was able to eat half of it. I ordered the two pork chops which come with onion rings on top and some apples on the side. It was also really great -nice and juicy. I ended up taking one of the pork chops home for dinner the next night. Despite the place being completely full, it was not overly loud. It was a real pleasant dinner. And as a bonus, my friend Laura was working the bar- which she does on Friday nights. And we had two servers taking care of us - who were both very pleasant and friendly. I highly recommend Hedges for a nice special dinner. We will be back soon!

We had reservations for Saturday @ 6pm. We were seated at our table on the side where you had a bit of a water view. One of the waitresses came over with a basket of bread and our ice waters with lemon. Then our actual waitress came to the table and took our drink & appetizer order. She was cute & nice and very pregnant lol! She came back to the table with our appetizers and then she took our main course orders. I got the Vegetable Risotto to which I loved and my significant other got the Halibut. After a short wait we were served our main course. To which our meals were hot. The ambience was pretty good and it was kind of busy. After our meal we got the chocolate/ peanut butter cake. However, I didn't eat any I was captivated by the sunset which was incredible. So I got a couple inside and then I ran outside and got more pictures. So all in all a great night!

Fantastic steak. Ordered the special and suffered from sticker shock once the bill came, should have asked the price

Great food, fun atmosphere, amazing location, unbelievable sunsets. What's not to love about this place?

The restaurant has amazing views of Lake Ontario. There's a nice lawn with seating and cute small lighthouses that light up at night. There's plenty of parking here and the restaurant has a nice local vibe. On Friday night, there was a live band. Service was attentive and quick. The Chicken Brittany is their version of the Chicken French. It comes with salad and your choice of starch. This is a very filling meal and I've only had Chicken French one other time and it's definitely unique and was good. Overall a good place to treat yourself and others

Super disappointment. Was so looking forward to enjoying a nice dinner. Fridays and Saturdays they do not serve food at the bar. You need a reservation. We were lucky to get a table. Ordered the filet mignon with crab meat and the sea bass. I was never told the sea bass came with Broccoli and I am allergic to it. When it came I told the waitress I was allergic. She just said "oh I didn't know" , she never offered another vegetable or side which was very surprising to me. I transferred the broccoli to my side bread plate and proceeded to try my sea bass. The sea bass was seared , however very cool inside. The outside was not hot either. It was as though it was cooled and sat. Also the broccoli I transferred was cool. The sea bass was not only cool but translucent. I could not enjoy it prepared this way. The steak was shared with me since I was unable to eat mine. First bite was tough and I could not consume it. The bread was very greasy my fingers shined with oil when I picked it up. One of the worst meals I have had. The filet was topped with snow crab which not very expensive and the dish was $90.00. An extreme disappointing meal.

The seafood pasta was okay. It didn't have much flavor at all and almost all the seafood was overcooked. The ambiance here is nice and the service is really good. They have a beautiful outside area and great desserts.

I'd describe Hedges as worth the visit in Summer and allow some time before or after your meal to enjoy the outside space on the shore of Lake Ontario. A number of dining tables have a nice view of the lake as well. The menu is limited and most items are expensive. Service was very good and the staff was friendly. Steaks and seafood on the menu. Entrees are filling but this is definitely a place requiring one to splurge a bit.

Can't beat the view of the lake during sunset. Fun atmosphere with the piano bar, delicious cocktails and entrees. Family has been coming here for years for special occasions! Came here for my bachelorette dinner and it was so memorable.

Went there and was not impressed with the food. Very overpriced. I honestly don't know how this place is still in business.

Back in October, while home visiting my family and friends, some friends of mine and myself went to…read morea haunted hayride in Williamson. Before we went there we went to dinner and stopped into Mama Lors Nice little restaurant. Kind of a random location too, but for some reason I liked where it was. Liked the outside of it. Reminded me of like restaurants in old ass buildings down in Staten Island. Spent a lot of time down in the city as a kid (family there) and lots of time on Staten Island. We'd always go to Italian restaurants there (even tho we are all Irish lol). This place kind of reminded me of those restaurants. I know, random thoughts to share, but that's immediately what I thought when I pulled up. It's NOT an Italian restaurant tho. It's American food. Burgers, salads, chicken dinners etc. Food was actually really good. Not too crazy overpriced like majority of restaurants these days...like ones that charge $15 for a plain waffle or something and the waffle is next level basic af. At least I'm not bitter lol But yeah, food was very good. The garlic bread...delicious. I have yet to find garlic bread tho that I don't like. Waitress was suuuuuper nice. Every employee we encountered was very nice. Place is big. Plenty of seating and you're not right on top of each other either. There is outdoor seating as well...pretty sure it was closed when we were there? Could be wrong. However, knowing what the weather right now is like back there...yeah, safe to say outdoor seating closed for the season lol. Restaurant is very clean. Nice floors lol. Random again, but I noticed that the second I walked in. I had neverrrr heard of this place until my friend suggested it. She lives in Chile so she's more familiar with the Rochester area. And Williamson, honestly, I forgot that city/town even existed lol. I didn't do any exploring there tho. The restaurant which is actually in Webster and then we headed to the hayride in Williamson...like 10 mins away. Nice place. I'd 100% go again. I'd also for sure recommend it to anyone..especially if they're looking for a nice restaurant that's not insanely expensive and has a really nice atmosphere AND is in a historic building. Ok so maybe in NY, it's not classified as a "historic building" bc most places in NY are historic. I live in Boise, Idaho tho. We have historic buildings here, but NOTHING like NY has. So when I go to an old building like this....IIIIIII classify it as a historic building haha. Thanks for reading, MamaYelperLor's!!!! Check it out! Support a local business! You'll enjoy it. If you don't...you know where to find me....right here on Yelp haha. Cheers!

This is my second time trying Mama Lor's since we have moved to the area, I've been underwhelmed…read moreboth times. I have ordered two different omelettes on two different occasions now: an egg white with spinach and mushroom and a meat lovers. Both were quite overcooked and the meat lovers seemed like a thin sheet of egg that they filled with toppings later on like a crepe. Additionally the meat lovers side of rye toast was obviously burnt but still served to me, I just ate around it for a few bites and gave up. My husband ordered fish and chips the first time - I thought the batter was tasty and enjoyed it though I think the filleting of the actual fish could have been a lot cleaner. This item is the only reason my review is not a one star, I thought it tasted good. The second time he ordered clam chowder and a salad that had chicken, fruit, nuts. The salad was fine nothing wrong but not a stand out either it seemed similar to something I'd get as a salad kit from the store. The clam chowder though was awful, so thick and gelatinous it seemed like it was canned which is already a red flag but one of those canned soups that you're supposed to add water to and like they forgot to do that part. On top of being weirdly thick it was also cold you can tell they didn't heat it thoroughly whether that was in a microwave or not though I can't really tell. I truly don't understand the hype or reviews for this restaurant given we've tried multiple items and for the most part fell flat with the sole exception of the fried fish. I was disappointed given the expectation from other reviews and unfortunately we won't be back for a third try.

I met a friend I haven't seen in probably nearly 17 years for lunch on a Friday. We never felt rushed or pressured to hurry up. I didn't notice much of a wait but it was nearly always full. A good indication of quality. When you first walk in there's a dessert case and they all looked tasty. I knew I was in a good place. They serve breakfast all the time. Score. I had a Swiss cheese omelet I requested it well done because I don't like it runny or slimy-it still was and that's really why I didn't give a 5. I didn't want to be a pain and send it back so I dealt with it. I ate the whole thing, I just wish it hasnt been undercooked. I got the breakfast potatoes. They are exactly perfect the way I like them, some bits nice and crispy and other bits soft but cooked through. (I'm going to come here again because of the potatoes). I had a grilled hard roll and coffee. They offer flavored creamers which I like. My friend got ham and two eggs but added a third with toast. She liked her food as well. I got two slices of rainbow cake to go. Let me tell you-it was fantastic. My mom and I both liked it a lot except this is going to be oddly specific, the blue and green layers, the frosting on the back of them has something EXTREMELY crunchy in the frosting. It felt like those little hard decoration balls and they were very unpleasant. My mother also commented about something crunchy in the frosting so she didn't care for it either. Another reason I didn't go full 5 on my review. The frosting on the other layers up was fine. It was really tasty. The cake was moist and not dried out. I noticed it was pretty popular. The service was good. It was really busy and we tried to flag our server down a few times and she didn't see me and that's okay we were there for two hours and she had a large section and like I said we weren't exactly campers but we were catching up and we weren't her priority and this is perfectly acceptable. Both my friend and I having been in the food industry for over 20 years completely understood. Our needs were never not met. We had what we needed and didn't have to wait long on refills on drinks ever. We will meet again there since we both had a very positive first time experience.,

Has all the classics and its own flair as well. Very ample menu, but I appreciate the fact that it's not pages and pages of things no one orders. Their selection tells me they sell what they have and, therefore, can expect fresh, high-quality food at a reasonable price. As a nod to the local food scene, we "started" with their version of a garbage plate. One dog and one burger. Was very good. Shared with my son as an appetizer. Was more fun than anything else. But it was tasty, not greasy for what it is. My son then ordered a pastrami Ruben. The portions are excellent. The marble rye and the fries clinically perfect. The pastrami was mid-level deli wog. Kind of a disappointment. I had a turkey club. The best I've had outside of NJ. Clearly house roasted turkey. Perfect toast to meat and veg ratio. Fresh. Delicious. My only knock is YOU DON'T put cheese on a club!!! I'll ask for no cheese next time. The next two points are really how I judge a diner... pickles and coleslaw. Pickles were good. But just good. The Cole slaw was very good. I was happy. Service exceeded my expectations. Really fantastic. Prices very reasonable. Excellent portions. Simply cannot wait to go again and try a burger.
