As he drove by, he rolled down his window and shouted an offensive slur at us. We moved aside to let him pass, yet after parking, he still got out and continued to yell more slurs and insults. Completely uncalled for and extremely unprofessional behavior -- especially from someone representing a company vehicle with the business name and slogan "Where we treat you like royalty" printed on the side. Everyone has bad days, but there's no excuse for this level of hostility. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing business with a company whose representatives behave like this in public.

The previous communication with Jacqueline was terrible, she was unresponsive, made me wait without the intention of getting back to me, and didn't make it clear about fees until I asked. STAY AWAY WHILE YOU CAN! If you are unfortunate enough to have their project already started, make sure to use credit cards to pay, so that you can dispute later in case something happens - another Yelp reviewer successfully won the dispute through the credit card company.

And Miguel is super friendly and such a kind and knowledgeable man, he was so positive even after having to crawl under our house in a confined area. He just said "it wasn't bad!" Seriously, I was impressed on how quickly he was able to not only diagnose, but repair and get our furnace up and running. Hooray we have heat again! Plus there was no mess, they took away the old part and the area they worked in looks the same. Thank you for an amazing job at a fair cost! I would highly recommend this company. It is obvious that customer care is a high priority to them, and it shows.

They will extort you, send you an estimate for one amount but then find…read moreother issues while installing the over priced part you agreed to, because you were left for a week without heat (after having already been out to inspect the heater once before) and the cost will double. My mother-in-law called them because her heater was making a loud noise. They came and shut off her heat and told her they'd be back in 2 days. Then at that time she got a text message telling her to shut something off, or push a button. She did and then they were under staffed and couldn't come out. After 6 days of my 80 year old mother-in-law living in a house without heat (her house was sub 50 degrees) they sent her an invoice for $360 because she apparently needed a pump and they said her heater would not turn back on without it (even though it worked prior to them turning it off). She was freezing so she just said as long as it was today. They were at her house within an hour (ironic since they were SOOO busy the first 6 days...). Then, the estimate DOUBLED while the tech was at her house as he said he found a gas leak (the house did begin to smell like gas AFTER the first tech turned off the heat). (I should say the 2nd tech was EXTREMELY understanding and helpful. He also confirmed that the gas leak was NOT reported by the 1st tech and the 1st tech was a new guy.) My mother-in-law agreed to it but called us. While we were on the phone with her the tech said that to fix all the problems he found this time (again someone had already been out there to inspect before) it would be $1500!!!!!!!!!!!! My mother-in-law started crying because she couldn't afford it but she couldn't handle being cold any longer. I called the company, the receptionist told me she wasn't able to make any decisions and would have her manager call me back. Then my husband went to talk to the technician at my MIL's house and he told us that she was delayed due to their high volume of customer's with larger (dollar amount) problems. I called the company back and asked to speak to the owner/manager. The receptionist denied my request and told me she never told me she wasn't authorized and that they have all their calls recorded. She told me they had record of calling my MIL every day to schedule the service but we have phone logs showing my MIL called them every day. She told me we were going to sign a waiver to release them from liability of the gas leak. When I said we wouldn't sign it, so she said she was pulling the techs from the job and hung up on me. When I called back, she again told me they were leaving the job (my husband who was with the technicians confirmed that they had tried to recall the techs from the job and my son had been recording EVERYTHING from their interactions with the techs) and refused to get me in touch with the manager or owner. I said I have read numerous reviews who said the owner was a man of integrity and I had seen negative reviews retracted after speaking with him. She again told me she was pulling the techs and tried to hang up on me. I told her I didn't want that and maybe if I could speak to someone who was authorized to discuss these matters with me (and not lie to me about what was or was not said on recorded phone calls as I am 100% SURE they will justify MY side of the story and not hers) maybe we would sign it but not without discussing these very unethical practices with someone who did have authority, and the person who would actually be impacted by our response to this distress (not someone being a complete brat and who didn't comprehend the severity of the situation). I was put on hold for about 15 minutes but then told she would call me back. I haven't heard anything from the company since. I believe this occurred intentionally to extort my mother-in-law. I also think the initial tech was responsible for the gas leak (whether intentionally or accidentally I can't say). Because they were not clear about what was needed, and they kept delaying her, she didn't have time to get a 2nd opinion or compare prices. We will be taking this up with the BBB (https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint) and the Attorney General as the Department of Justice has a form specifically for Elder Abuse and Elder Financial Exploitation Statutes (https://www.justice.gov/elderjustice/prosecutors/statutes). This is completely immoral, unethical and NOT an action of integrity. I will also be getting someone out to my MIL's to take a look at the gas leak and give us their opinion on how the gas leak came to be.

They came out that date. They got us an estimate within an hour and had workers there the next day. They came by periodically to check the work and always stayed in communication. There are some reviews around the unpredictable pricing, and consequently insurance billing, and they depicted Chuck as if he was aggressive and deceptive. Chuck is NOT. My place had a sudden heater leakage, with 0.4 to 0.6 inches of standing water in 2 rooms in the basement. Chuck arrived at the scene timely, explained the plan and options in detail, and provided very honest and personal advice regarding the insurance process. I had 3 water damage restoration companies come to my place for estimates that day, and Chuck's experience and resourcefulness really stood out. He was able to point out a major issue with another enclosed space that BOTH other companies failed to identify (and agreed to after I mentioned to them afterwards). Imagine how that would have caused me years later! Chuck also provided thorough alternative plans on the spot in the case we do find mold to largely reduce the cost of repairs. He has cost reduction in mind at all time even though the dumber alternative is likely also covered. I had to move to a different solution for other reasons, and I cancelled pretty much at the last second of the appointment. In the entire process, Chuck is really understanding and makes sure I am comfortable with the decisions I am making. He didn't demand for any sort of compensation, and even offered more advice, after having wasted the time and energy he already dedicated to my case. I have a lot of respect for Chuck and would definitely work with him again. I feel compelled to share my experience here as I think the review profile painted the wrong picture for me. :)

The work is scheduled and I'll update if there are any issues, but I don't foresee any. This business does not seem to be linked to Yelp, so if you're trying to contact them just text them at 206.914.3779. And also, don't expect businesses that are linked to Yelp to give you a better price, I've worked with other plumbers linked to Yelp, they generally try to scam you. So in conclusion, use Splash Plumbing, they seem like a great small business to me.
