Jim not only came out to our house to give us a comprehensive estimate, he was also the person who did the actual installation. I needed to replace our 18 year old American Standard heat pump but wasn't quite ready to replace our furnace. After thoroughly educating myself on heat pumps, I called 7 different HVAC companies for estimates. I was open to all the top brands. Some of the companies would not replace our heat pump without also replacing our furnace. A couple of companies said that they would flush out our old heat pump lines with nitrogen instead of replacing them. Most companies sent out a salesman to give us an estimate but they were not the ones who would install it. Yesterday Jim from MVH came out to our house and replaced our old heat pump with a new American Standard heat pump. He and his assistant Braden were at our house for over 9 hours doing the work. They meticulously installed our new heat pump, replaced our heat pump line with a new one and replaced the coil on our furnace. Jim removed our broken automatic air filter and designed a slot to fit a standard size disposable air filter. I think they went above and beyond with the installation and their clean up was impeccable. Jim installed a new "smart" thermostat which also qualified for a PSE rebate. Anne, the office manager was so helpful in answering questions I had and in completing the PSE rebate forms and all the paperwork. MVH also had competitive pricing and I saved money with the PSE rebates. Yes, I am very happy that I decided on Mountain Valley Heating and Air to install our new heat pump. This company was also the HVAC company we hired 18 years ago and I highly recommend them!

I prefer companies being proactive. Their verbal quote in person felt like bait-and-switch, as it was not anywhere near the online quote. I had turned down other options as I liked the online bid. I explained this to the techs, and they were able to "negotiate" a better price (slightly higher than my online bid) so it was not exactly what I expected. What I liked is the job was complete on the day I requested. The techs tried upselling me in person, didn't give me anything in writing, and kind of hesitated when I'd explained I wanted them to either take off their shoes or wear booties, as the floor was recently cleaned. Again, they did the job on the day I'd requested and came highly reviewed, but I still have not received a written receipt (it's been nearly a week) and I don't care for the upselling when everything on the price menu is online. As they were able to finish one home I hired them to do another, based on time. Would I hire again, I'd give them a 3/5 stars, so not necessarily. It was 100% based on scheduling on why they got my business and they sold me on the instant reply and online menu, but I wasn't impressed with the mess (had to vacuum after they came) and the upselling and their hesitation of booties. Mike the the tech showed up, looked at the furnace and said he had to go to his van to get his tools to track down the problem. He was asked here to give me a bid on a NEW furnace NOT to fix the old one. I asked him at what point does the free estimate end and the charges begin. We talked a little more and I told him that I have 4 companies coming out to give me bids for the new furnace and he said "4 bids...you called 4 companies"? I said yes because I wanted to shop for the best price. He again said "4 bids?? Would you go to 4 different doctors to get their opinions too?" I said yes I would. He gave me a nasty look and I said thank you for coming. Goodbye. He left mumbling something and I am sure it wasn't nice what he was mumbling.

Suraj from Progressive was as knowledgeable as the rep from Greenwood. Progressive was the only one willing to snake the new hoses alongside the existing routes. All the others wanted to do much more drilling on the inside and outside of the house. I love how they were willing to adapt to my project's needs. Conclusion: It's true, the quotes did take a week to arrive. That part doesn't really matter once you have that expectation. Overall, I highly recommend this company.

Came back early afternoon and installed the necessary parts and tested everything and the heat is back on. Excellent service at a reasonable transparent price. Don't be put off by any bad reviews from 2022. It seems they were going through some growing pains as well as the labor shortages and covid like many other small companies at the time. I have had enough. While Go Green was the cheapest quote, you get what you pay for. My nightmare…read morebegan in October 2025 and is still ongoing six months later. As of April 13th, I am still being double charged and the issue has not been resolved. I have been flexible and willing to work with them, but the owner Mark and the sales guy Loren made that impossible. Loren will say anything to close a deal. The lack of oversight is staggering. They refused to do a walkthrough with the installer and seller, which led to two heat pumps being installed incorrectly. They had to be moved, and that caused even more damage to my home. They also charged my credit card while "charging" a Synchrony loan, so I have been effectively double-charged for months. Now they refuse to speak on the phone and only send haphazard email replies that never resolve anything. They promised to fix the drywall in writing. This was necessary to repair their own mistakes and because I preferred to have the electrical work go through the house, which they agreed to. Instead, they sent a third-party worker and then demanded a massive payment for the repair. They eventually gave me a payment to cover the drywall fixes myself, which I am grateful for, but even that took over 3 months of fighting. The actual installers and electricians were amazing. They should go find a new job at another installer with actual integrity. My problem is entirely with Mark and Loren. Since they use AI for their reviews, expect a fake reply from Max below. Save your sanity and hire a company that won't hold your money hostage.

We…read morehad to beg them to cover the exposed lines in the garage and to tape over messy connection points. Errors abound after install that they had lots of trouble resolving. Due to a misdirected email that we weren't supposed to be on, we saw that what they tell customers is different from what they discuss internally. System cools when there's no need to cool and heats when there's no need to heat. Register blows cold air in the winter when the system is in heating mode. Technicians have no idea how to fix any of it, and repeatedly make the problem worse (and then go radio silent) when they come for a service call. Go somewhere else.
