Tessa, at the office, texted me to confirm my appointment time and included a photo of Rich, my service technician. Rich was fantastic. He showed up on time, was extremely knowledgeable and very communicative. As expected, after his very comprehensive inspection and testing of my Furnace and A/C some serious issues were found. The 20 year old furnace had a crack in the heat exchanger, which Rich showed me on his camera. The 30 year old A/C had lost a significant amount of its effectiveness to cool my home and was wasting a lot of energy. Rich was there almost 2 hours and I got all this at an amazing special price of $29! He asked me if I wanted someone to come out and give me a free estimate to replace my furnace and A/C, and had the office schedule someone to come out when I returned from my upcoming trip. Two weeks later Dan Severt showed up on time to take measurements and collect the information needed to properly size the new systems I needed and provided me with a detailed estimate. He explained my options, explained the installation process, and covered possible financing options. As it was possible for me to get a loan through GreenSky to make monthly payments with no penalty for early payoff and no interest if paid in full within 18 months, I decided to proceed. Dan called the office to schedule the install for me and got me started with the GreenSky loan process. A short while later, Tessa texted me information about my install to begin the very next day. Later Tessa sent me a text to confirm my appointment and included photos of the technicians that would be coming. Next day she texted me that they were on their way and included a tracking link so I could monitor their progress. Technicians Obet and Cody arrived to begin the installation. As is usually the case with 40+ year old homes, and today's updated building codes and newer, more complicated "smart" systems, a few issues popped up. At all times the guys kept me informed of the issues, explained what my options were, and then executed the necessary workarounds. Dan also made himself available to come by personally to see the issues for himself and answer any questions I had and offer advice when asked. A short while later, a highly experienced Carlos arrived to assist the guys with problem resolution. They guys worked really hard from 9am to 10pm in order to complete their job for the electrician coming the next day. They cleaned up the job site and hauled away the old units. Meanwhile, back at the office, Sarah who had processed the necessary permit(s) texted me that she had made arrangements for the two required inspections, one for the electrical work and the other for Snohomish County building code adherence. She informed me that those two entities would reach out to me to set things up. Later I received a text that the electrician, Fredo, would arrive early the next morning. Fredo showed up on time and completed the electrical work in time for Benjamin to arrive. Benjamin completed a checkout, testing and startup of the system and demonstrated how to program the new smart thermostat. All worked perfectly. Without exception, everyone involved was timely, possessed excellent communication skills, was organized and highly skilled at their respective jobs. All of them were positive and courteous and respectful of me and my property. This was, by far, one of the best experiences I've ever had in a job requiring skilled labor! Kudos to As You Wish for having quality people and using quality suppliers for their HVAC systems! I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to invest in updating their systems, or in having them inspect and service their existing equipment. Ordinarily I would have sought out multiple estimates before hiring someone to do such a big job. I have no idea how the cost for As You Wish to do this job compares to the numerous other competitors in this sector, but I'm kind of glad I didn't. Otherwise I may have gone with someone cheaper, who knows? But one thing I know for sure is that I couldn't have found anyone better!

Andrea, Bernard, and Tyrus are a true family business and they gave me a very reasonable estimate, kept to the schedule they provided me, and were extremely respectful to my property and house while working here. They also gave a lot of love to my cat and dog, which is a huge bonus in my book! My review is fairly long, so the TLDR version is: You would be insane to hire any other HVAC company without at least getting a quote from Active Heating and Cooling first. When I started looking for an HVAC company to replace my old gas furnace with a mini-split system, all the big companies that spend a gazillion dollars on advertising were, of course, the first ones to come to mind. I am a little leary of these big companies because I know that they have to pay for all that advertising somehow. So, I called one of the advertising-heavy companies at the recommendation of my sister, who had had a good experience with them. I also called a couple other much smaller companies that had high ratings on Yelp and Google just to get an idea of what the breadth of estimates might look like. I actually ended up getting Active's estimate first just based upon availability, and theirs seemed to be pretty reasonable. They recommended 2 exterior compressor units and 4 interior head units to cover my house, which made a lot of sense. The next estimate I got was a few thousand dollars higher, and for less equipment. This company recommended only 1 exterior compressor unit and 3 interior head units, which would have likely left my main floor lacking in both heating and cooling capabilities. The third company that gave me an estimate was the big-brand one that spends a ton on advertising, and it was very apparent in the quote. This company also recommended only 1 exterior compressor unit and 3 interior head units. Their estimate was 49% higher than Active's and, again, this was for less equipment. When I told them what Active had quoted me, they called their HQ and knocked off $10,000 on the spot. This just tells me that their first quote was padded with massive profits for them. In summary, Active Heating and Cooling knocked it out of the park and I could not be happier with my new mini-split system. In fact, I have already recommended them to several neighbors and friends and one of them is already on the calendar to get mini-spits later this month! I highly recommend that you call the big guys to see what they would charge you but, ultimately, you'll probably end up choosing Active just like I did.

This is our second experience with Eco. After the first (plumbing) it was a no brainer to call them again. This time for electric and it feels like a pretty large job; three buildings on our property including one full panel redo. They do charge for an estimate. This could take you by surprise. They didn't used to. But we are all in this wild economy together so it makes sense. They also make you feel like you got good value out of the inspection. Extremely thorough. It's refreshing to see people/businesses know their worth. It's not a money grab. It's highly skilled professionals giving you a ton of their time. That's worth a lot more than what they charge. Probably just covers gas. We did our due diligence however and had other quotes. Eco was the last to quote and because of their extreme level of detail we knew they were it. No regrets. Jordan was our main man. He represents Eco so well you'd think he owned the business. Knowledge, professionalism, easy manor, precision, experience... what more do you want? He's also pretty cool. I prefer companies being proactive. Their verbal quote in person felt like bait-and-switch, as it was not anywhere near the online quote. I had turned down other options as I liked the online bid. I explained this to the techs, and they were able to "negotiate" a better price (slightly higher than my online bid) so it was not exactly what I expected. What I liked is the job was complete on the day I requested. The techs tried upselling me in person, didn't give me anything in writing, and kind of hesitated when I'd explained I wanted them to either take off their shoes or wear booties, as the floor was recently cleaned. Again, they did the job on the day I'd requested and came highly reviewed, but I still have not received a written receipt (it's been nearly a week) and I don't care for the upselling when everything on the price menu is online. As they were able to finish one home I hired them to do another, based on time. Would I hire again, I'd give them a 3/5 stars, so not necessarily. It was 100% based on scheduling on why they got my business and they sold me on the instant reply and online menu, but I wasn't impressed with the mess (had to vacuum after they came) and the upselling and their hesitation of booties.
