my heating stopped working and after a few days of burning wood for heat and trying to get an appointment for someone to come diagnose my issue, I found Jeff. he picked up my call on his way home from another job at almost 5pm, but was still willing to talk to me at length on the phone and try to run through some diagnostic steps. he even offered to stop by my house on the way home, but we ended up scheduling a visit for the next day because I didn't want him to have to crabwalk through my crawlspace after hours but Jeff gave me some things to try to diagnose the problem and eventually those steps helped me find and fix my problem. Jeff really knows his stuff and more importantly, he really cares about fixing your problem! he was genuinely patient, helpful, and enthusiastic on the phone and refused to take any payment for his time. I'll definitely give him a call next time I have a problem! thanks, Jeff! read more

My furnace would not come on. I checked online for repair service in my neighborhood and came across West Seattle Heating & Air. Checked the reviews which were good, so decided to contact them. Tried for two days only to receive a message that the number was not accepting any calls. It wouldn't even allow leaving a voice mail. No message about when someone could contact them, or info that maybe closed for the holidays, etc. Just not accepting calls. Not a good way to do business. read more

Spoke with Jeff, seems like a friendly fellow, and (way too) chill. Tried to schedule an appointment for a furnace repair, but this proved a long conversation and not an easy thing to do (time-wasting conversation, some of it related to his personal schedule, etc...irrelevant to a customer). After 10 minutes trying to get him to come to my house and repair the furnace, I ended up cutting my losses and going with another company. read more

We suspected there was something wrong with our Lennox furnace motor, and called Jeff based on his great reviews. He came out the next day, diagnosed the problem quickly and gave us options we appreciated, versus just suggesting to replace the furnace entirely (it's older). We decided to replace the furnace motor, and Jeff had the part picked up locally and installed in a couple days, easy as that. New furnace motor is nice and quiet and the house is warm! read more

I had an issue with a ten year-old gas furnace and called West Seattle Heating & Air. My call was promptly and politely answered by Jeff, the owner. I explained my issue and Jeff gave me several steps to try and also offered to come out and was very empathetic given my cold house and kiddos. After following Jeff's steps which helped reset my high limit switch, my heat is back on! It's awesome to have wonderful small business owners like Jeff in the West Seattle community and I look forward to dealing with him again for my next heater replacement. People like Jeff are highly deserving of our business. read more

My moms furnace would keep lighting for 3 second and shutting off in a cycle. Instead of potentially charging me an arm and leg, Jeff quickly diagnosed the issue over the phone and spent a few minutes over the phone explaining how I could try to resolve the issue myself before scheduling a repair. Viola 15 min later I resolved the issue myself with his guidance. Although he didn't physically come out, I definitely will come to him for any non fixable issues in the future. read more

Saturday evening 1/18/20 I realized our Lennox gas furnace was not putting out any heat. Sunday morning I went online to look for a a local West Seattle firm that could come out to help me. The only firm I found that would come out on Sunday and not charge a emergency fee was Jeff at West Seattle Heating. I left a message around 8:30 AM and at 12:13 PM he sent me a text that he was just leaving a job in DesMoines. He got to my house around 1:30 and by 2:00 PM he had my furnace up and running. Found that the 19 YO Honeywell thermostat had failed. It cost $250 for the new thermostat and his troubleshooting. No weekend surcharge! Excellent service! Highly recommended! read more

I called about my furnace blower during a busy time (snowing in Seattle). They took my call and patiently diagnosed the problem. It turned out that I could solve the problem myself thanks to their advice. 5 stars for excellent customer service - best I've experienced from a small company in Seattle. Thank you!! read more

I called Jeff at West Seattle Heating & Air on a Friday at 9:00PM. My furnace had gone out. Jeff was out the following morning and had it up and running. Great service!! read more

I love this company! I hired them to fix a natural gas leak based on their reviews and they exceeded my expectations. They really are as special as everyone on Yelp says. It really is hard to find quality service in any trades like gas, plumbing, electric, etc. in Seattle. And I have worked through 3 other companies that either don't have skills or don't finish a job or don't call back or charge a lot. Jeff brings a second guy to work together, they were available on a Sunday when my gas leaked, they worked extra time because of the difficulty getting to my leak, and yet still charged a fair, and actually low price rather than an emergency price and I appreciate that. They confirmed a number of things wrong with how my house ducting was done so I know they have a high standard of quality and aren't going to butcher things to get their job done fast and out the door. They even cleaned up work that wasn't theirs just to help. That's the kind of guy I want working, thanks! read more

The condenser on my HVAC system malfunctioned today, and so I called West Seattle Heating and Air to schedule a repair. I spoke to Jeff (the owner) and briefly described the problem. He said that it might not actually be a malfunction, but instead a normal operating procedure of a condenser for frosty mornings like today. He told me a few quick things to check/do to see if it was indeed working properly, and sure enough it was! He saved me not only the $100 or so fee from a service appointment, but also the hassle & expense of taking off a day of work. Such polite, honest service (even if it prevents the business from collecting a little $$) is a rare and welcome find. I will recommend these guys to everyone I know if they ever need service. Thank you again so much!!! read more

Always the best. Fast, dependable and reliable. Jeff didn't laugh (well not out loud) at one issue I had and quickly resolved another concern without any charge. Jeff works on old school principals and treats us customers with respect. Thank you. read more

Called mid-day on a Sunday because our furnace wouldn't kick on. They were on their way to install a furnace elsewhere but came by quick anyway. They were here for probably 15 minutes. Very polite, in good humor, fixed the furnace, gave good advice, and didn't make fun of us for our lack of knowledge...not too much anyway ;) Most importantly, OUR HOUSE WAS WARM in as little time as it took them to fix it...Plus they barely charged us for the last minute call. Would call them again and/or recommend in a heartbeat. read more

We were SO impressed by Jeff. He was so prompt in his responses and was so much fun to work with. He replaced our furnace and took our needs and finances into account. He treated our home as well as he would treat his own and really counseled us towards what to do for a very old and ailing furnace. As new homeowners, his guidance and expertise was invaluable. He is such a pleasure to work with and I would love to work with him for just about anything. I feel so lucky we found him! read more

After spending the majority of the weekend in my crawl space, unsuccessfully diagnosing and unnecessarily buying and installing a new ignitor for my broken furnace, I threw in the towel and called West Seattle Heating and Air. I was not optimistic that I would get ahold of a live person given that I was calling during the Super Bowl. To my surprise and delight, Jeff answered and took 5 minutes over the phone to understand the issue and suggest troubleshooting. I returned to the crawlspace with renewed resolve and removed the tube connecting the pressure switch to the air inducer. The tube was clear, but I stuck a thin nail into the entry point of the inducer and pushed through some gunk that had built up inside. It was a huge relief when the furnace fired up again! In five minutes, Jeff spared himself from an unnecessary visit and saved me from additional expense! I will definitely be calling Jeff the next time I have problem with my furnace. read more

Woke up on a recent morning to find that our furnace pooped out. Called Jeff and he was able to respond that same evening. Unfortunately, parts weren't available at that time of night so we had to wait one more day. Jeff went out of his way to ensure that our family had heat and we were up and running less than 18 hours after my initial call. Everywhere else was 3-7 days out. Pricing was more than fair considering the urgent response and the hoops he had to jump through to get parts. Needless to say that West Seattle Heating and air will be the first call I make if anything else comes up. Jeff was awesome. Highly recommend. read more

Jeff is truly amazing and I can tell he enjoys his craft and seriously cares about his customers. I was having issues with my heater (no hot air blowing) and called Jeff. Over the phone, he suggested I reset the circuit breaker and do a couple other things. So I did those things and behold, it worked! Jeff didn't charge anything for his over-the-phone advice. I still remember to this day how he took my call with care and seriousness, despite not even knowing me. Jeff, you're my guy and I'm sending my friends your way! read more

This company is well recommended. Jeff worked on my furnace and did not leave my house until he got it to work. The way he works is very thorough and concern. Not only that, his service charge is ridiculously inexpensive compare to others. Very satisfied with this company. read more

My 20+ year old HVAC stopped working during the coldest week in October. Jeff stopped by the day I called him (even with a packed schedule) to access the issue. While it wasn't fixable, he suggested getting a 2nd opinion but is sending me a quote to replace it. BUT in the meantime, he helped relight the pilots on my two gas fireplaces that haven't been turned on in years (we're talking dust, corrosion and difficult to access) so my family could stay warm in the interim. He was so friendly and helpful. We'll definitely use WS Heating in the future, likely to replace my old HVAC soon. Thanks Jeff!! read more

These were the only guys answering their phones on Labor Day weekend. Tech arrived quickly and replaced a part, he was great. The bill was rather high, but was resolved with some haggling after the fact. No complaints with the service, just wish their prices weren't so high. read more

Jeff is The Man! I was having problems with intermittent heat a few years ago. I called Jeff and he took the time to listen to my problem and make some suggestions. It was late in the day and he was on the way home. He didn't seem impatient or rushed and took the time to address my issue. And he didn't charge me a cent! During the coldest time this year of course our furnace conked out. I called Jeff and he was here the next day with a new furnace and had it installed and working by the end of the day. And the price was very reasonable. He is a good guy and is a pleasure to work with. I can't say enough good things about him. Thanks Jeff! read more

We converted from oil to gas and had all of our ducting replaced. Also had AC put in this summer. These guys are the best! Detailed, thorough, clean and punctual! Price was competitive as well. Would highly recommend! Thanks!! read more

I called on a Saturday to see if I could get my tankless water heater fixed, Jeff took my call, told me he was booked for today but might be able to squeeze me in tomorrow, but first I should try clearing a filter - well, I did, and he was spot on. Speaks volumes about a person's ethics. I'll definitely call them again. read more

This company is the REASON you wan't to do business with someone local that cares!. I have used them multiple times, today I called Jeff on a Saturday morning in a panic because the AC unit was leaking into the floor below. He showed up within a couple of hours, and fixed me right up for a fair price! It's so nice to deal with honest folks that are genuine and actually care about their customers. read more

Jeff wasn't able to help me with my situation (servicing of a unit in a wine cellar) HOWEVER I he answered his phone on a holiday (July 3rd) AND did his best to try to help me over the phone. read more

The ignition on my furnace died today. I had seen the reviews of this company, and had a good recommendation from a coworker so I called them. Jeff (the owner) answered and came over right away. In less than 30 minutes from the time I called my furnace was back to working and I couldn't be happier. I will be repeating my business with this company and requesting to have them install a new furnace for me. read more

Jeff at West Seattle Heating and Air is simply the best! I recently needed to have a chimney relined and the gas furnace venting re-done. Jeff responded immediately and fixed everything perfectly. Not only was his work done professionally and perfectly done, his prices were extremely reasonable...and he worked on Saturday at no extra charge! When everything was done, Jeff and Jim left everything cleaner and neater than when they arrived. At the end of the job I asked Jeff if they could also do a service on the furnace. Even though it had been a long day and a lot of work, Jeff and Jim did a complete service on the furnace with absolutely no complaints. You just can't beat this kind of service. For any heating, venting or other related issues Jeff is the guy to call....it's as simple as that. read more

Jeff is amazing, came out on a weekend to help even thought it wasn't an emergency and it was a scorcher out. Can't reccomend him enough.

Sunday morning waking up to no heat with a cold snap on the way, not to mention it's NFL playoff weekend with the Seahawks-Packers game, we didn't think we had a chance that anyone would be willing to help. A call/ text to Jeff at West Seattle Heating and Air was met with a quick reply. Within an hour of our call Jeff was on his way. He quickly diagnosed the problem, made the repairs and didn't charge the premium we thought was heading our way. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. All at a fair price. Definitely went the extra mile!! Strongly recommend West Seattle Heating and Air. read more

Jeff is awesome and I'd highly recommend him if you're in need heating and air work. I called him around 4:30pm last night because our furnace stopped working. Temperatures were dipping around 27 degrees so having heat was very important. He was very pleasant on the phone and said he'll do his best to come that same night even though he was already booked till late in the evening. Needless to say, he arrived that same night and had us up and running in an hour. Jeff was very courteous, professional and clearly enjoys helping people out. He's affordable, too! A+++ Jeff. read more

He answered my call and came out to look at an issue in our house right away. He listened and talked to me and the contractor and gave his input, which was really appreciated, especially on short notice. Highly recommend him--we will definitely be working with him in the future! read more

Jeff is amazing! Above and beyond service. I called him today just before 6PM thinking I wouldn't have an appointment for service on my furnace until next week or so. The weather has only recently turned very cold, so I reasoned that demand for service calls would be high. To my surprise Jeff responded that it was very important to get our furnace running given the weather, and would come by this evening. It is 8PM now, and I already have heat! Jeff was friendly and personable, trustworthy, gave money saving advice regarding potential future services, and charged a very reasonable rate. I would not hesitate to recommend West Seattle Heating and Air to anyone, and I will exclusively call this company for my future needs. read more

I needed help installing my new range and reducing the incoming gas line to the kitchen (the previous owner had a commercial range). Jeff was extremely helpful and even helped carry out the old range despite his injured ankle. He's a great guy, completely reasonable price, and the work was top notch. I'll for sure be using him again and would highly recommend! read more

On his day off today - Jeff took the time to speak with me about my AC issue. It is refreshing to know there are still people like Jeff that care about the customer. I highly recommend calling him if you are looking for a tech that will actually fix your issue rather than most other companies that will charge $250 to diagnose the problem and then give you a quote that many cannot afford. Thanks again Jeff for your time today. read more

Jeff came quickly, assessed the furnace problem, made a fair estimate and then quickly did the work (including some issues that could not be foreseen in advance). Work was neat and he took great care of our home and belongings. He was friendly, helpful and it felt like we were dealing with a neighbor and an old friend. Thanks Jeff! read more

I purchased a house that, lucky for me, Jeff had worked on previously. The seller was kind enough to pass along Jeff's information. 4 years later and Jeff has continued to be the only guy to service my AC/Heating units. If he thinks it's manageable, he will always try and work through the problem with you over the phone. If not, quality will come rolling over on four wheels. If you want premium work and great customer service, then Jeff is definitely your guy. If you're into subpar maintenance and installation, it's time to look somewhere else. read more

I've never been moved to write a Yelp review before, but the service I received from Jeff deserves recognition. When my old gas furnace went on the blink, I put out calls to numerous companies. The technician from Greenwood Heating & Air told me ominously that my furnace was in dangerously bad condition. He also overestimated its age by 5 years - and charged me $119 for doing absolutely nothing but trying to soften me up for their sales force. Jeff showed up at my house within a few hours and looked the furnace over for free. He was able to locate a used part, install it and get the furnace running again - on a Saturday. It's an old unit, and I know its days are numbered. But I appreciate Jeff's honesty and willingness to make an inexpensive repair rather than attempt to strong arm me into immediate replacement. I'm saving for a new furnace, and hope to buy it from Jeff. read more

Jeff installed a new furnace and air conditioner and was definitely by far the best bid I received out of many. Plus other companies were making suggestions on work I needed done that was not warranted. He obviously has a lot of integrity and is very professional. I am in a condominium building and if you stood on the roof top and previewed all the air conditioning units mine stands out. His quality of work hands down marvels in comparison and is immediately evident! read more
