I contacted Energy Technologies late in the day yesterday and they had someone at the house early the next morning and on time. They diagnosed the issue with our heating system (no warm air was coming out) and sourced the part needed from their supplier locally. Came back early afternoon and installed the necessary parts and tested everything and the heat is back on. Excellent service at a reasonable transparent price. Don't be put off by any bad reviews from 2022. It seems they were going through some growing pains as well as the labor shortages and covid like many other small companies at the time. I had Energy Technologies come out to give me a quote to repair my furnace. Unfortunately, after the 12 days and numerous follow up calls it took to finally get a quote from Energy Technologies, the quote was not for the service I had requested. After many more emails/phone calls trying to get the information I was looking for, I gave up and used a different company who did the diagnostic, gave me a quote, and fixed the furnace on the spot. A few weeks later, Energy Technologies started sending me invoices for the diagnostic they performed (they tried to charge $150, when they originally said the diagnostic would be $90). I had to call again to have them correct the bill amount. I would recommend saving time and going straight to a different company. read more

They came highly recommended but cannot even perform simple business functions. I called to get a quote for a new HVAC system and was told that someone would get back to me that afternoon. Three days later I called back and they apologized and had someone call me back in an hour. Speaking to this person I scheduled an appointment for the following Monday at noon. On Monday no one showed up and at 12:30 I called and asked what was going on. I was told the person was running late. Then I gat a call back a few minutes later and they said they had no record on an appointment with me or my contact information which I had supplied twice now or what I wanted. Three contacts with this company, all less than great. 1. Called to set up an appointment for an estimate to replace my oil furnace with a heat pump. Phone rang. "Uh, hello....?" "Hi... um, is this Energy Technologies?" "Oh! Yeah!" Person took my address, we set a time... then, only as an afterthought, he asked for my name and number. Okay, that was a little awkward, but no problem, appointment was set. 2. Appointment was for 2:30 pm a week later. That morning I called to confirm time and reiterate that I needed 30 minutes advance notice. No problem, said the office. 2:30 rolled around with no call or text, then 3, then 4. After 4 pm, I got a text saying the worker would arrive around 5:30. I couldn't do it then -- I have a tight work schedule and 3 hours late was impossible. So I called and canceled -- then got called back shortly afterwards by someone who sounded senior (an owner?) apologizing for being so late and offering to reschedule. I was about to travel out of town and, at this point, not sure I wanted to use them, so decided to wait on rescheduling. 3. Two days after my canceled appointment, I received an emailed work estimate. They'd never been in the house. The estimate had the correct address but name of the former homeowner, not my name. The kicker? It was for $32,500 -- over TWICE what another contracter had estimated for the same job. I wanted to like this company, which came very well reviewed and recommended by many local folks, but yikes. Maybe their work is outstanding but the level of organization and professionalism in the front office was just really poor. Sorry, Energy Technologies: three strikes and you're out. read more

I finally got the chance to hire Energy and they did not disappoint. Nick came, and while he found that the units were fairly clean, there was an issue with wires being crossed, meaning that is why 1) our heating and air conditioning didn't work great and 2) our electric bills were so high. He gave me the option of performing maintenance - he didn't insist that it needed it - he let me decide. We went ahead. We just brought my son back from the hospital and was greeted by a heat wave of 90+ degree weather. I needed to get the house cooled down quickly so he could sleep, and I reached out to almost a dozen HVAC companies. After getting a number of quotes from different vendors that offer heat pumps, I ended up landing with Energy Technologies. Services for the installation has not been completed yet and a review for this will follow after. I wanted to ensure that I didn't make the same mistake with choosing a vendor as I did when I was looking to have a furnace replaced, which ended in a terrible nightmare (see First Response Heating and Air Solution review). Some of the reason thats I had decided on Energy Technologies was because the representative that I worked with, Al had been very communicative. He came for my appointment and was able to send me a quote within a day or two outlining everything we had discussed. One of the major things that I sought for the installation was to ensure that my heat pump/ac unit would be Nest thermostat compatible as this was already a product that I owned and wanted to be able to utilize in full. I had already gotten other quotes from different vendors and was able to confirm that there is an option for compatibility. Al took this information back to his office and re-confirmed it for me before committing to me. After a couple more interviews with vendors and also receiving a number of quotes ranging from low to high, I ended up selecting to work with Al. Al's pricing was not the cheapest out there, but I felt comfortable enough to move forward with him and trust that he will do the job properly, but of course only time will tell and only I will really know how the quality of work is once installation starts. Al's company was also considered as a Master Installer per the City of Seattle website. We begin installation on Monday and it is projected to take 2 days. I am excited to see the results and performance of having a heat pump/ac unit in the home vs. a traditional furnace. Review to follow once installation starts and is completed. read more

I've worked with Al and his company since then. He is one of the most trustworthy and gentle people I have done business with. He is fair and transparent. I was referred over to these guys by the tech who installed my hot water heater, and I am completely blown away by the great responsiveness and customer service this company offers. First off, their sales/manager guy was fast in setting up the initial call out and assessing what I needed. Second, the tech they sent out was very friendly and we had a bid within 48 business hours. Third, when the crew came out to replace my outdoor heat pump, there was an issue with the unit that came with them, but rather than just powering through with the wrong equipment, the installer quickly noticed the problem, the manager was in touch right away, and they had the replacement unit out the following morning. Fourth, our system is 13 years old, and these guys could have just pushed an entirely new system on us, but rather they sent out a maintenance guy to make sure the new unit worked with the old system. He took a lot of time to not only get the heat pump up and running properly, but also did a thorough inspection of the system at no additional charge! He identified some other issues (as you might expect, there were some with an older system), and discussed how to plan around dealing with those issue. read more

Energy Technologies tried to take advantage of us being first time home buyers by quoting us nearly $5,000 for some basic electrical (installing lights) and gas work. We were so confused we tried to ask Al why was this so high and he just stated that is the lowest he can go to do any work...We had both family and friends and other contractors tell us to avoid them since they are trying to SCAM US! We called around a few more places and got an actual reputable contractor to do all the work for less than a third of the price they quoted us! I definitely recommend AVOIDING THEM and finding some more reputable contractors! read more

Man I thought Al was great! But only over the phone call he mentioned a $99 special and sent a service guy out and he called me said he could tackle it all and would give my furnace a yearly service. BBut i was so wrong my renters said he came by and lit the pilot lite and left, i never heard back from this company so called Al and he said oh thks for calling ill send you my BILL. I asked him did they service the furnace and He said we didnt want to touch it cause if we break it we own it ??? What the @cyk and sent me a bill for $257 for 15mins and his business is only 1.5 miles away hes no good dont trust them, i found a independent on craigslist and mentioned that the pilot lite was out again and about Al and he said over the phone thats a easy fix and came out and service my furnace . So i will never call al and i hope you dont have to go through what i did. 5 stars for this amazing business. Easy to schedule, prompt service, professional associates and work was well executed and left the place clean. Our service tech was Nick- super friendly, explained what was wrong, what he was going to do, any other issues he found and recommendations on how to fix. We had found a leak in our air con/ furnace unit and called them to ask them for a quote and fix. As they chatted for onsite visits, the man we spoke to on the phone suggested getting a maintenance visit as our unit indoor/ outdoor had not been cleaned for a while, so that the cost was put to good use versus a diagnostic visit alone. We opted for starting with diagnostic and adding the maintenance as we went. The tech( Nick) was able to easily fix the leak, clean out the unit despite it being a really old model , cleaning the outdoor unit and finding a capacitor that needed fixing. Now our ac cools better than before, no water leak in our basement and its all set for the next two years. We will definitely be using them again for regular maintenance every two years. Highly recommend them as they are knowledgeable, professional, know what they are doing and do not try to up sell you on services. Our furnace had an issue with the burner not coming on. We called a few different companies but it seemed like the dispatcher knew what was going on better than the other dispatchers I spoke to. Later on I came to find out that the dispatcher was the owner of the company. They were upfront with the costs and gave what I considered were reasonable estimates. He said that the technician would be at my place between 3-5PM. The technician came on time (exactly at 4PM), diagnosed the issue quickly-- gave a revised estimate and went quickly to get parts. He fixed the issue promptly. The technician(Martin) knew what was going on and seemed responsible and capable. It turned out that he is the owner's son! We got a few quotes from different companies for ductless split by Mitsubishi. Martin came out to give us a quote and he was very thorough and not pushy at all. After meeting him, I knew I wanted to work with these guys cause they seemed to be very honest and wanted to do business with us. They worked with us and helped us get the financing option which we needed and couldn't do without. Within 2 days of getting the quote from Martin, I met with Al at their store in Kirkland and saw the heads and exterior units at their store since I haven't seen them before and wanted to know how they would look. Al, who is the owner was equally as nice, not pushy and very accommodating. I signed the contract the following week and work began a week after signing the contract. It was quick!!! We finally have heat now and it took about a week to set up everything in our house, electrical, heads, etc. John and Eric who did the work at our place were also very nice, respectful and trustworthy. I really enjoyed working with these guys. In a time where it seems like everyone in Seattle is quoting prices through the roof just cause they can, these guys are honest guys and they work very hard! These guys did just an amazing job installing a ductless A/C system in our condo in Kirkland, WA and its working perfectly. We had gotten estimates from two other companies for nearly twice as much as what we got from Energy Technologies before we contacted Energy Technologies. The other companies also gave us a lot of incorrect information (such as how it would take 6 weeks to get a permit when it only took two days for a permit and how the installation would take two full days when it took just 4 hours) and outright lies about the actual prices of the A/C units themselves, all this obviously to try to justify overcharging the customers. The guys from Energy Technologies did all the work in just 4 to 5 hours, and did a beautiful job, even vacuumed and swept the tiny bit of dust was left after installing the unit on the wall, and left leaving the place looking spotless. The owner is true professional, he personally came and inspected the installation the day of the installation to make sure everything is working perfectly and even offered to come by and personally show us how to operate the unit the next day. It's such a pleasure to see that there are still companies like Energy Technologies out there doing professional work at fair prices. If you need a A/C or heating system, I would strongly recommend you call these guys and don't even bother with anyone else. read more
