TLDNR: HVAC Mini Split Install (inclusive of electric work). Dylan was fantastic! You should totally hire him. I called Dylan as part of a bid to do an installation on an Alpine mini-split unit I had purchased myself on the recommendation of my brother-in-law (who is a property manager out of Kansas and maintains 100s of properties). What set Dylan apart from the others that caused me to hire him: 1. He was very responsive to the bid, and was very prompt and flexible with scheduling a walk through to give me a quote. 2. He was the only one on the walk through to notice that the voltage for the particular unit I had requested to install was lower than the typical 240 Voltage (great attention to details) 3. He did not try to shame me for making my own purchase of a unit or scare me to 'buy a mini-split through him' by saying things like "Well because you decided to by the unit and this isn't through us, you're not under warranty and we can't do anything if something were to happen. You're taking a really big risk." (which others did) 4. Most cost effective option/quote What was great about Dylan (and Donnie) on the installation: 1. Prompt and flexible scheduling on the installation. Once I had reviewed all other bids and notified Dylan he was selected, he was able to confirm a date and time for installation within 1 hour of confirmation and was able to fit the installation date within the next week! (I don't think it's reasonable to expect that Dylan will always be available to have this fast of a turn-around, but I can tell you this level of responsiveness was so appreciated!) 2. Dylan arrived with help (hi Donnie!) and was able to get the installation complete quickly. 3. They were both very respectful of the fact that they were doing an installation while I was working from home (I live in a studio, so I was on conference calls less than 5 feet from where they were working). They were as quiet as one could be drilling holes into drywall and always checked with me before any loud work or questions/decisions that needed to be discussed (by politely just tapping me on my shoulder off camera, waiting until I could take a pause and speak with them). 4. Dylan always confirmed any decisions that needed to be made, clearly articulating my options and helping me make decisions by letting me know his recommendation and the pros and cons of the options. 5. Once complete, he walked me through all the work done, highlighted typical things to expect with the unit (like, it will have automatic periods where it isn't blowing heat when it is defrosting the outside compressor - this is normal and there are no issues, the heat will resume as soon as the compressor is defrosted) as well as how to control the unit with the remote control. 6. They were very careful to lay out blankets on the floor and clean up after their work and make sure the area was better than they found it before wrapping it up and calling it a day. Actually he helped me pick between two different lights, and then installed the one that we both liked. If it was just replacing a fixture I probably would have done it myself...but they were wiring a new security light to my subpanel...and they were really good about it. The light got centered on my house (about 30' up in the air). The breaker got labeled on my panel. They cleaned up after themselves. Charged 200 for flicking a switch. Must say I am disappointed with all the glowing reviews here, either fake or biased for a local company. Problem - Garage Door stopped working with no power even in the garage area outlets. I had tried flicking switches but to no avail. Summary - Called Dylan a night before around 830PM realizing it was after hours so that I could leave a message. I must mention that Dylan responded immediately via text asking me to call him the next day (12/13) around 8 AM. So, 2 stars for being prompt and available late at night (830PM). However, I was not aware that there would be an hourly rate and that he would be leaving another job to come fix. Since the problem was minor and was affecting the garage area only, I assumed that he would come take a look at it in his schedule, prioritizing as needed. Action - Dylan arrived in the morning around 11 AM (Unknown to me that he was leaving another job) and literally flicked a switch for the power to come back on in the garage. Final charge = $200 Now I realize, that after the job was done, he had left another job to come fix mine. However, this should have been mentioned as it was not an urgent fix or a massive problem in the first place.
