Because the cost was likely to be high, I emailed Daniel to ask for the range of the cost. He then offered to come to my house to give me a free estimate. If you have ever called any electricians, you should know most electricians bill based on trip charge (basic fee) plus labor time and material. Even they do nothing, they still charge for just showing up at the door. I was very happy that Daniel was willing to come out to give me a free estimate. This just makes him distinguishable from other electricians. He gave me a very detailed estimate. The price was reasonable, so I accepted it. Later I told him that I might need to replace an indoor outlet as it's loose. He offered to do it for free! What a wonderful customer service! Moses was the one who actually showed up to do the work. He's very polite and friendly. He explained to me his work. He was very patient with me when I didn't understand his explanation. He was great to work with. He also cleaned up after his work. His work showed a very good quality. I would highly recommend Strands Electric. Of course, whenever I need someone to do some electrical work, I will call Strands Electric.

We had Stephen install a Kohler 26kw generator in March and couldn't be happier with the final results. Stephen explained everything, from the selection of pipes used for the gas line, conduit for the electric lines, the updates he made in our control panel, and why he chose what he did. Along the way, Stephen also noticed a multiple "out of code" items that the previous homeowner fiddled with and corrected them, without charging extra . Upon inspection time by the city, the inspector signed off on everything, with flying colors. Placing a generator in the backyard is the easy part, however, running 100 feet of gas line on the outside of the home, under patios, with dozens of angles and bends, is where having Stephen, along with his thought process, is a must. I received 3 quotes, including Seltec's, before making the decision to proceed with Stephen. One of the quotes was astronomically high, using an inferior brand generator, while another quote was about similar with Stephens, however, the similar quote was also using an inferior brand. Kohler appears to be a superior generator, in regards to quality, sound suppression, maintenance, and warranty. The fit and finish, from the generator itself, to the installation process, is top tier. He's respectable, engages in conversation on what he's doing (either from me, or my 12-year-old son, polite, and even more important, honest. He's upfront, educates, does exactly what he says, doesn't take shortcuts, and believes in his product. I'd hire him again tomorrow, if I was to do it all over again.

We replaced our old Generac unit, and…read moreStephen figured out how to use the existing Generac transfer switch with the new Kohler, saving us thousands of dollars. None of the other dealers I got quotes from would do this... Instead, they all wanted to sell me a new switch. Not only did Stephen give us a very competitive price that beat all the others, but he is a master electrician and knows his stuff. We got our new Kohler installed months before the other dealers could even get the parts. I highly recommend this dealer as we are pleased with the product and service. Based on hours of research, we went with the Kohler brand because the engine is made in the USA, whereas Generac engines are made in China. I've also seen enough reviews of people who purchased a new Generac, and the engine blew up on the first start. They have some significant issues, and so for us, Kohler was the clear winner, and combined with Seltec doing the install, it was all very smooth. Thank you, Stephen, for everything!

I called Moon Electric last night around 6pm and someone actually answered the phone -- Mr. Moon! He was nice and listened to the work that I needed done: a dawn to dusk LED light install, change out all outlets in the garage, electrical outlet in shed and wire overhead light into outlet in shed, and fish a lone cable on a wall mounted tv which was a job forgotten by cable company when tv was installed after a remodel. Mr. Moon said he couldn't have anyone put until Monday, he even texted me last night. So late morning I get a call stating they see that they did have time to work us into their schedule. Two guys showed up, Kyle and Josh. They did a great job, cleaned up, very polite. It's a family owned business -- a dad and three sons, which I also like. I pitched a project via Yelp to install cooling and replace the furnace to all of the most highly rated companies in the area. All of them recommended a heat pump as opposed to traditional AC. Better Air NW's proposal was not only the least expensive by a fair margin, but also offered the highest quality machines and best warranties. Normally, I'd be pretty skeptical at that combination, but all of the positive reviews on Yelp convinced me to accept their offer. A few days later, as I write this I'm basking in the warmth of my new heater. The installation was smooth, painless, and well done. Despite some unexpected challenges in the home's design to figure out and overcome, they charged exactly their estimate; there were none of the kind of headaches or scams that one often expects dealing with contractors. All in all, great experience, these folks deserve their lofty reputation.
