This restaurant is a hard no for me. I try to find healthy food options since I drive a Dump truck and sit a lot throughout my day. My first impression of this restaurant wasn't great. I asked the cashier some basic questions about a few food items on the menu, she was unable to answer and turned to some other guy. His response was it states it on the menu. With his attitude I just quickly pick something I thought was safe General Tso Chicken. That choice was wrong the worst I have ever ate. He even told me I asker for medium spice not mild, I asked for medium spice ok not mild however my meal was unedible extremely spicy.. He then says well medium spice is regular spice level nothing different.. when I told him it would have been better if he would have explained that when I ordered. I would have said no SPICE...if someone says anything about spice level wouldn't it make sense to explain the options to the customer...he then goes on to say your order was right kinda short and definitely rude... My current go-to Chinese option in Lewis Center/Polaris. I'm simple these days and HC's menu isn't deep--yet excels at the familiar favorites. I like a good egg roll, wonton soup and dumplings. I've been pleased every time I've gotten take out or delivery. I've also been adding on an order of edamame as of late because what they send is 10x better than what I'm microwaving from Kroger. Good size portion of chicken. Served over rice and broccoli. Crab rangoons were very subpar. Minimal to no filling. Just fried wonton. Service was fast. Food came hot. It's small, but nice and airy inside. Staff were friendly. It's kinda like Chipotle in that you can build your own meal (well, pick ingredients.) But it's delivered to your table. I had Mongolian sauce with pork and an assortment of veggies. Everything was fresh, and cooked just right. Veggies were crisp, meat was tender, rice was a good complement to the other ingredients. The sauce was barely there, which can be good but means I didn't get much "Mongolian" flavor. I also had crab Rangoon; these were okay, nothing great. If I lived or worked nearby I'd be here a lot. Not bad for a fast Chinese takeout. We are fans of General Tso but it's so terrible for us and we hate that it's fried. At HC Way, you can build your own dish with any sauce (General Tso is an option), and vegetables, any protein, and any preparation. Ordering stir-fried chicken with veggies and General Tso sauce seems like a compromise. It's a way to still have our favorite dish, but healthier. Is it as good as regular, fried General Tso chicken? I wanted to update my review Unfortunately they no longer sell sushi rolls, I was a bit disappointed as they were really a great item to add along with my meal. The food here is really good, prepared with fresh ingredients and a good amount of food. The food takes a few minutes to prepare, so it's not fast food in my mind, but it's worth a few extra minutes for a great meal. We got our order to go and took it home to eat. The food is always hot and very tasty. We ordered Teriyaki chicken, and Orange chicken, both with fried rice. Since there weren't any sushi rolls we added an order of egg rolls. So here's to my very first review...CHEERS! Now if you know me, then you know that this Korean girl is not a big fan of Chinese food. And so of course, my first review would be on a Chinese restaurant. Ting ting. So everyone at work always rants and raves about how amazing the food at HC Way is and since I was having a craving for Chinese (for once in my life)...I thought that I would check it out. To sum it up in very few words...Extremely bland and order extra, extra sauce. I ordered Chicken Fried Rice and a side of Steamed Dumplings. The chicken, rice, and vegetables were cooked perfectly, but had no flavor whatsoever. I don't even think that there was any soy sauce in the meal? Luckily, I keep a bottle of siracha in my office. The siracha definitely helped save the meal! The steamed dumplings were undercooked and very watery. I gave them to a colleague and he seemed to enjoy them. Poor taste buds. A few things that I did like about HC Way: 1. Very prompt. Food was delivered within 30 minutes of order placement and this was also during lunch hour. 2. With delivery, the delivery person brings a portable credit card machine which I find to be extremely convenient for those like me who do not carry cash. No need to worry about having to provide credit card information over the phone. The machine also generates your tip amount based on percentages (for those who are not good at figuring out 10% 15%, and 20%). ;) I will probably never order HC Way again, but for those of you that do...don't forget your siracha sauce! If you do order dumplings, it's probably best to order the fried dumplings over the steamed dumplings. I love HC Way! Whether it's the Campus View or Bethel Rd. location, it's all the same great quality. As a notoriously picky eater, this restaurant is great for me because I can customize my food anyway I'd like. You always get a large portion size (they fill the take out containers to the brim!) and it's a great value. Also, they offer steaming food instead of frying, which is fantastic. I can't get steamed tofu fried rice anywhere! I always add a little hot sauce to my meals and I absolutely love their homemade crab rangoon. read more

What drives me crazy is false information. According to their website, closing time is 9:30pm Monday through Thursday. So on Monday 6/1/20 at 9:20pm, I pulled into their parking lot hoping to get a bite to eat before I go to work. Their "Open" sign was brightly lit and all the interior lights were still on. But as I made my way to the front door, the lights in the kitchen area turned off. I opened the door (still unlocked btw...) and I proceeded to ask if you were still open. After receiving blank stares from the 4 employees I was told by one of them that "Yes, we are closed " So my next logical step was to ask "What time do you close?" Instead of a polite 9:30pm, I was told rudely "we are closed!" Which kinda caught me off guard...then another associate said that they start to close about five minutes before closing time (Really?...you close before you close?!?). Mind you this was 10 minutes before the official closing time listed on their website. Needless to say that I wasn't to pleased with the response. In fact, I can absolutely guarantee that I will NEVER set foot in this restaurant again. There are Chinese restaurants all over this city that probably stay open up to their listed closing time that would appreciate my dollars much better that HC Way (Campus View Blvd). Which is too bad because I've eaten here before and it was pretty good food...oh well. I ordered takeout because it was too late to cook dinner and the food was decent. I ordered orange chicken, beef and broccoli, chicken lo mien, and white rice. The orange chicken and white rice were delicious. The beef and broccoli was drenched with onions and the lo mien noodles were too big and thick. I prefer my noodles thin. All of my food was delivered hot as if it was just cooked and the delivery guy was really nice and professional. I usually only try to be positive, but this place was pretty bad. Great concept, but the Mongolian stir fry was anything but. The beef felt artificial, and there was just a bad flavor. But the worst is the people working there! The girl at the register clearly was having difficulty so a guy came over to "help" and scolded her. Told her that's 3 errors in 2 days. I like this place a lot. They can easily accommodate to vegan/vegetarian diets. I usually order the fried rice and I request it with tofu (they have the best fried rice I have ever had), pad thai mild with tofu, no egg. They have good sushi too. I always get the vegetarian roll. You shouldn't be disappointed. My picky meat eater friend likes this place too. The food, service, and cleanliness is good. They even have one big screen TV on the wall, for your viewing pleasure. This place is fast, tasty and a good value. Its my go-to Chinese place! They have a pretty big menu, and they also offer a DIY stir fry kind of deal where you can pick the things you like and they'll wok it up for you with one of their 10 or so sauces. With huge sharable portions of their dishes (we like the mildly spicy General Tso Chicken) for about $7, you can grab egg rolls and soup too for under $12. The food is good, its easy to find something on the menu that you'd like. My only complaint is the fried rice. Its not what I'd expect it to be, all brown and toasty with soy sauce and veg. They have this bomb-ass dish called "Uncle You's Chicken" that I've never seen before at any other Chinese place. According to the menu, one of the employees was playing around one day and created this dish. Not really sure what's in it but basically it's lightly breaded chicken with their amazing garlic sauce...it's crispy, sweet and spicy, very filling but not greasy. Other things I really like are the crab rangoons, best I've ever had, and the chicken or beef with broccoli are solid options as well when I need to meet my vegetable quota for the day...but I've noticed they don't have chicken with broccoli as a menu item, so I just tell them chicken, broccoli, with brown sauce, sometimes hunan sauce. I like to get mine extra spicy and the broccoli soaks up all the juices...so good I would say they only thing I would add is scallops to the menu for when I'm feeling fancy and pineapple as one of the "veggies." Overall, this place is hands down the best Chinese in Columbus in terms of fresh ingredient quality, savory taste, and friendly service. Portions are great, prices are more than reasonable, and if you go when it's slow, they really try to accommodate your order if you get some really custom-made order. 5 stars easy. read more
