    #3. Huli Huli Chicken
    Sheila A.

I'm not sure what people are expecting from Hawaiian Time, but I got a Regular Huli Huli Chicken plate today and it was delicious. There is a sign at the drive-thru speaker that they are under-staffed (no shocker there these days), but I didn't wait more than 10 minutes for my order. I believe the owner was working the drive-thru along side a skeleton crew. I would 1000x's rather support a local place versus the mega chain next door. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because they didn't have chicken katsu, but knowing what the options are now, is still go back. And also their hours are pretty limited it seems but that's probably to do with staffing. Overall, Portion was a good size for the price, tasted delicious, service was great.

Oh Hawaiian time we gave you one more try. Last night we got huli huli chicken. Two large orders for $10.50 each. Leftovers galore. The girl at the drive up was nice. Inside it looked clean enough. Today we are both miserably sick with tummy issues. I will spare you all the gory details. Nope. No more. If you want Hawaiian go to Roxy's or 808 or the place in Forest Grove. Skip this.

They were really short handed and I felt bad for the employees. But other than a short wait to order, they got the food out in very little time. So very tasty. And the staff was really friendly. It's a shame they don't have a kids menu, but honestly you can just order the large version of the platter and share. My 7-year-old, when asked if he was done, said "it's too good for me to be done!" He then ate every grain of rice off his plate. I'd like me you don't care for macaroni salad, they are happy to sub extra rice for it. Plus, cool surfing photos!

I come here at least twice a month, if not more! The huli huli chicken is always moist, flavorful, and so reasonably priced! Do yourself a favor and get Hawaiian Time!

His place is always really good. I have enjoyed everyone I eat here . It's a unique place great menus . The menu is really good . The flavor on the meat is really great nice smoky and delicious . I recommend this place totally . It is really good Hawaiian food . The macaroni salad is to die for . I always try to get an extra helping of this stuff ... I give them 4 stars for this it's definitely a place to check out if you like Hawaiian food ..

I have driven by a couple of times and really wondered how this place would be. I happened to be there this time around lunch time, so I stopped. I decided on the chicken plate. YUMMM. The chicken was perfectly tender and delicious. Added some of their teriyaki sauce over the rice and again, YUMMMM. The mac salad was the only weak part of the meal for me. Very heavy mayo taste and I'm really not a fan of pepper in mac salad. Maybe next time, I'll try to order an extra scoop of rice and skip the mac salad. They come in 3 sizes. Small was good for lunch as I wasn't too hungry today. Regular would probably be fine most times and the large, well, I'd have to share that one!

This is the third Hawaiian time I have gone to and the food is very good. I have had better but it's never a bad meal. That alone would give it 4 stars. This group seems to find vacant buildings and re purpose them to become Hawaiian times. The ones in Eugene and West Salem are old gas stations. This one is obviously a former Burger King. Not the best in atmosphere but as long as the food keeps coming out like this I'll keep coming back

Sign blaming unemployment for lack of employees
    Dashawn A.

While I probably won't ever come back to these restaurants I was always a fan before recently. I used to live in Eugene right next time one of these places. I didn't know there was one here until about two weeks ago when I was working nearby! The food is pretty good pretty consistent between all locations I have been to. They have three side options and each comes with a good amount of food for the price. So if there is nothing else this place isn't too bad to eat at. The problem that I now have with the place is the sign they have posted around the restaurant blaming their lack of employees on people collecting unemployment. I personally couldn't imagine someone who would post a sign like this being good person to work for. I would bet their staffing issue is caused by not paying their employees enough and being a poor work environment. On top of all that they don't accept pennies, which i get it can be annoying accepting change but it's still valid money.

[Format & Space] Seat yourself*, review the menus at the table, order at the bar, they bring your food and drinks to your table. *Plenty of tables, some with long benches, others with chairs on the inside. There's also a large patio. This is a welcome and safe space. [Drinks] Right up front, I'm going to tell you I'm a lightweight. I'm allergic to alcohol, so I don't drink often. Here's one of the things I love about The 649. They have a fantastic selection of mocktails that are created with the same creativity, flair, and intention as a "leaded" cocktail. I appreciate that I get to participate and not be stuck with a lemonade, zero alcohol beer, or wine. So, HUZZAH for creating an inviting space for a non-drinker! There *are* times when I'm willing to risk the lobster-bod, itchiness, and stuffy nose and there are plenty of cocktails from which to choose! [Food] There's a nice selection of sharable plates and mains. I've personally tried the flatbread pizza, Bavarian pretzel, Cubano, and Brisket Press, all of which were delish. [Service] The service has always been fabulous. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. [Activities] There are a few TVs around the bar with sports. It was a great place to catch some of the World Cup games. Additionally, there are several games that you can borrow and play, which is a lot of fun. [Location] Tucked in a busy shopping center with Safeway as an anchor. Parking hasn't been super problematic yet, but based on one of the other reviewers (Ron R - loved your formatting too, so I borrowed it until we get rich text formatting or emojis!) I can see where it could be a challenge.

Because it's somewhat hidden in the corner of a Safeway shopping plaza. Look for the Baskin Robbins or Wells Fargo ATM and your find it. Like other reviews, when busy, parking can be a bit horrendous. But in hindsight, I'm not gonna reduce a star just because of location. * Bar Food Menu & Dining * Their menu starts with shareable bites, like a pretzel, tacos, quesadilla, loaded nachos, and even a charcuterie plate. Slightly larger dishes would be their Cubano and Brisket Press sandwiches. They even have a few choices for soup and salads, and a couple of dessert items listed. Don't forget to check the chalkboard next to the bar for specialty dishes and drinks. As for dining-in, they've got sturdy wooden tables that can accommodate 4-8 people. Bar stools by the windows, and a fairly large outside patio area. And with the times I've been here, I've never seen a dirty table. Very well maintained (two thumbs up). A few TV monitors showing the game, but its not like a noisy sportsbar. * Drinks & Services* You've got your choice of craft beers that rotate like a standard tap room. They also have tasty seasonal cocktails, but their normal everyday cocktails are just as good. And if you're gonna have a charcuterie board, then you've got to offer a wine list option right? Well they got that too! One last thing to mention, they've got some top-shelf bourbon and whiskey. The 649 is a bar that offers it all! Service has also been welcoming and top-notch. I recall only been served by Rich, Steven, and Crystal, but they always seem to craft up some lovely cocktails. Or deliver some clean tasting everyday type of bar food as well. * Last Call * Normally in my reviews, I'd list every item that I've tried, with price included. But The 649 is such a unique type of bar experience that I feel you should try for yourself; To me, their offerings are reasonably priced. Dining in is nothing fancy, but service is excellent. It's a great hangout for a business date, of even after a first date. I've got nothing but love for local support!
