The good part: food tastes fine. I even enjoyed the Mac salad which can be hit n miss sometimes. I had ordered a bunch of plates off the menu and my entire family thoroughly enjoyed it. Bitter part: in a nutshell-- the young blonde female teenager did not provide a wow experience at all. She was going to refund me after I leave--I had to insist for my refund right then and there, even if it was in front of a line--amongst other negative issues with my order. Roxy's is my favorite Hawaiian food place in the area. I lived on Oahu for a number of years and the food here tastes like what I ate there. The portions are huge and I have never had any issues with food quality. My go-to items are the teriyaki chicken, shoyu chicken and plenty of mac salad! read more

I'm honestly amazing this place only has 3 stars. The food is SOOOOOO GOOD!! I didn't really used to like Hawaiian food till i tried this place and I was blown away by their food! I love all their chicken dishes but specially their Kalbi amd katsu chicien. I always have a hard time deciding what to get because everything is actually so good. Service is always good and staff is friendly. The lady who rang me up was really friendly and talked to me about the history of the place for a bit while she rang me up. Called in a takeout order and picked it up. Food was ready pretty quick considering it was peak dinner time. It's also my fault for not checking but didn't realize till I got home that I didn't get any of the 4 sauces selected. Also didn't get my extra gravy that costed $1.75. On that note, the loco moco didn't have much gravy on it either. The garlic chicken was good but was primarily breading, even more so than usual. This place is a hit or miss with quality. The last 2x I've ordered food to go and I got the burnt / bottom pot of the rice. The service is ok, and the place inside is ok for a quick in and out. If this was my first visit this would probably be a 2 or 1 star review. Been going to this location since they opened and the Beaverton one since it opened. Always been a great place for Hawaiian comfort food. I understand the staffing issues many businesses are having- but it seems it's becoming an excuse for poor service or food. That may not be the case here- just an observation. I came in the other night, small amount of people inside, 2 in line. The ordering process wasn't bad, the girl said about 15 minutes as a couple of the orders had to be prepared fresh. After about 10 minutes the people in front of me got their food, which also required extra prep. After 30 minutes I heard the guy now at the counter say that they were running out of teriyaki chicken. He then made the decision to give tge remaining teriyaki chicken to a couple of single orders of people who came in substantially after me and have me wait longer. Granted- could see our other food waiting in the window while they grilled more. By the time they got me our food it had been over 40 minutes with no real apology. Guess what. Cold and no good. So Hawaiian food seems to be around in little nooks and crannies in Hillsboro. Here is one we finally tried. Roxy is a chain and we tried the one off of TV Hwy. The staff was friendly-ish and the ambiance seemed busy and upbeat. My husband and I opted to share a mixed plate of Garlic Chicken (crowd favorite) and Pineapple chicken. The Garlic chicken was definitely something to applaud. I loved every bite and would get it again. The Pineapple chicken was a bit more of a miss. Lacked a lot of flavor and felt like shreds of pineapple just thrown on top of plain chicken. Each plate is given two sauce cups so I doused the pineapple chicken in their sauce which made it a bit more bearable. I've been to quite a few Hawaiin places being from SoCal. This was a decent one, not sure if I would come back for a few reasons though. It might seem like a small nit pick but the macaroni salad was probably the weakest I've had. They use more of a pepper base for it so if you're into that, good for you. But as far as Im aware of, this isn't traditional Hawaiin style Macaroni salad. I had the breaded chicken/katsu. It was alright but just seemed to be missing something; I may have ordered the wrong thing but chicken katsu across the board feels like a pretty standard order. I did love the environment of the restaurant! Lots of decorations and music playing to really get the vibe right, so that was a plus. It did not take long to get my food ordered and served so if you're in a hurry and live nearby it might be good for a quick bite depending on what you order. Another plus!: spam musubi! I haven't been to this location in over a year but I wanted to try it one more time before I left Portland. This location is tucked inside of strip mall and off to the side. They have their own parking lot. When you first come in you see a sign that explains that food can take up to 15 minutes to prepare. I had all the time in the world so it did not matter. With the COVID-19 restricitons in place, you will place your order inside and wait in your car. They will call you when your order is ready. I ended up getting pineapple chicken, sweet garlic chicken, regular rice, and mac salad. Everything tasted great. The chicken was extremely crispy and got stuck in my teeth. This is the fastest service I've ever had for carry out. Literally finished paying at they handed me my custom ordered food. It is as good of quality as the one in Tualatin and I'm so happy to have a closer option. Don't order online! the website is old and non responsive and ended up putting my order in at a location over an hour away from me, and the stores do not have phone to call for me to cancel. So I lost my money, didn't get any food and had no way of contacting the store. I tried going to the location near me to have them contact the sister location and they couldn't call them either. "I am not an animal, I am a man!" Like pouring salt on the wound! and double the insult!! And what ever happened to common etiquette? Not always, but something I've experienced one too many times from Roxie's, (Jenkins Rd/Cedar Hill Blvd Beaverton), missing part of the order, and poor customer service to correct the matter. So I order two take out plates for me and my wife, with an order of Kimchi on the side (approx $24.00 and yes! including a cash tip). I finally get home only to find out the Kimchi I paid 3 dollars for wasn't included in the bag. Mistakes happen! So here's the ordeal. My gas hog vehicle barely gets 10 miles to the gal, and it's a 7 mile round trip (Google Maps), so I tried calling, 2 x's, believing I misdialed the first time, only to receive the same message machine. So I have no other choice but to drive the distance back, mainly due to having paid cash and never received a receipt, hoping the same person who took my order would be there to remember me. So, I'm thinking, high gas prices and 14 miles (2 round trips) vs being ripped for 3 bucks? I know, right? Call me old school, but for me, it's always about the principle. Besides, I figured they might reimburse me for the $3.00 Kimchi. Didn't happen that way. My experience? As I walk in about a 1/2 hr later, I calmly said "I paid for an order of Kimchi and it wasn't in the bag" to the very same cashier that first took my order. She said, Robert right? I pleasantly said yes (wow, she remembered my name). She eventually hands me the Kimchi, but only with the words "here you go" and abruptly turns away to help the next customer. WOW! I at least thought I'd get a simple "Sorry" apology, maybe a slight gesture of a smile? maybe offer a free Kimchi? (which I would have kindly declined anyway), anything other than being treated as if it were my fault? Also, isn't the whole purpose of "Take-Out" the ability to take a break yourself? So there you have it, Salt on the wound. I just left the place vowing to myself, never again! there are other competitors. Moral of story? ALWAYS Check the contents of the bag before leaving, while cautioning yourself against the sticky leaking sauces that typically end up on your hands. Keep in mind, workers can be over worked / over stressed, but there's never an excuse for poor or just plain rude customer service. Can't stand the heat? Get out of the kitchen! read more

They use the best lettuce, the pineapple is juicy, the bun is soft and buttery, cheese is melty and creamy, and the patties are always thicc and perfectly seared with good char. The garlic chicken and the rotating curry special are delicious, mac salad is insane. Everything is insane. Portions are generous, food is always hot and fresh. With several Roxy's locations around the area it's surprising to find different quality amongst all. Murray has good saimin noodle soup, cedar hills has great grilled flavor and clean presentation. Today stopped by tv hwy Roxy's and was surprised at the quality. I've eaten here a few times before and the quality wasn't consistent. The pork adobo today was soooo good. Tender and good flavor. The Mac salad wasn't just globs of mayo but had a sweetness and chewy macaroni noodle texture. Steamed veggies were good. The broccoli and cauliflower were undercooked and almost raw.
