Nothing fancy, just an old time type comfy spot. Fun finding these family run businesses compared to the typical Elmer's type places. I judge a breakfast place by their hashbrowns and this place made them perfectly golden, crisp and buttery. They have video poker and a pretty decent priced breakfast compared to other spots. I have driven by this place for many years and decided tonight we are going to try it. I feel like I stepped back in time. We came in there are people in the lotto room and we are the only ones in the dining area. It is 7:40 pm. The restaurant is very clean. The radio is not too loud, so you don't have to shout over it. The person who took our order is very nice. Salad was fresh cut but only lettuce. (see picture) The beef noodle soup is tasty and full of noodles. Not much beef in it but it is really good and it is tender. The chili was very thick and good. The chicken fried steak got high praise. The BLT was good-just right and came with frilly toothpicks securing the atmosphere of going back in time! Nothing was wrong! Nothing was sent back. That is a first in a long time. Even the water was good! This place deserves more business! Hey- they survived Covid! We will come back! Our dinner for 2 was $31.85 What a deal! Food was actually decent. Service was AWFUL! Three bussers, one server. We waited 15 mins, they tried to take someone else's order who had just sat down. Then we (stupidly) ordered something to go for our kiddo, we waited 20 mins, no to go, no check. Got up to try and pay and they said "your food has been waiting up here for you". Excellent, large delicious portions and a great menu to choose from! YES, They serve breakfast all day long! The young lady serving us was as sweet as can be and very attentive. We did not wait long for our hot delicious food. The outside of the building isn't anything special and the inside seems to be a bit outdated, but it was very clean and they had a lot of room for plenty of seating. We will definitely be returning. On our constant search for a good diner style breakfast ( think Bertie Lou's) on the way to visit my mom in her care facility way out west, we landed here.Things were already awkward I don't know why we didn't just go to Hales...well we couldn't think of a reason TO go to Hales. That's a different story though. Sunset Grill, like the Don Henley song...right?hmm. Notsomuch. I've seen WAY too many episodes of Restaurant Impossible recently. The decor would make Robert Irvine get out his sledgehammer. Inside it had fake roof overhangs all the way around and was super dark with fairly ugly lamp fixtures and um, art. If you call it art. The restaurant is very dated. The booth was not comfy for this curvy girl. Tables are affixed into place. Princess was too far away and I was too close. The servers were sweet girls trying their best. They get a star. Princess' dad ordered a breakfast burrito. It arrived with crusty tortillas in two pieces (not cut in half but really two taco sized tortillas)...maybe microwaved or under the heat lamp too long?icky pace like salsa. Meh he said. Hash browns were ok. Princess ate half of those. With a lot of ketchup. I ordered a country scramble: eggs, potato chunks, cheddar shreds, rawish green pepper and onions, diced ham. Two very packagey biscuits. It was just ok. Princess ate the biscuits. With a lot of jam. Princess, against my advice ( she's 11 and apparently done listening for the next ten years)ordered mashed potatoes and gravy. Trouble ensued wherein her dad ( opposed to all beef consumption due to mad cow concerns was abruptly told by Princess she didn't care if there was beef because he's insane...) intervened. We had to ask the poor befuddled server girl what was in the gravy and she didn't know what we meant. "It comes in a packet" she says cheerfully. Ugh. She went and asked, and came back saying "pork." Confidence was low, for good reasons. The gravy was awful as were the potatoes which Princess believes were out of a box. She ate two bites, for $2.95. Yay. The coffee was meh, as expected. It is cheap. Breakfast was under $20 before tip. But we won't go back. And guess who had to make "real" mashed potatoes and gravy for dinner later? Humph. read more

Husband, daughter, and I had brunch here yesterday. Prices are great, food was all right. I had the Farm Boy, which is biscuits and gravy with corned beef hash in between. Actually quite delicious! My husband had a jalapeño cheeseburger, to which he said, "Meh." Server was nice, but seemed to be confused by my husband asking for a burger with pink inside. Their decaf coffee was not very good, and I have pretty low coffee standards haha. I used to come here with my family all the time when I was a kid, and I can honestly say that the decor is identical to how it was back then, which I actually love (nostalgia factor, I suppose). They have changed owners several times since then. Probably would eat here again, especially if the Elmer's down the road is crazy-busy. read more

Food is bland. Got chicken tenders with mashed potatoes. Girl barely understood English, which is fine but the attitude was unnecessary. My dad got the soup special which had potatoes. Had no flavor and seemed to had been warmed up in microwave due to some being a little warm and the potatoes being super cold and not fully cooked. Sent it back heard the cool shout out about how nothing was wrong with it and how we were just complaining to complaint. My mashed potatoes were severed with country gravy which didn't say anything about country gravy on them on the menu I would have gotten no gravy. Again they were cold. I sent it back , not usually picky or send stuff back but the service was not good enough to accept the shitty food. The food got mad and was talking shit. So this place has an old restaurant feel. When you walk in, you are forced with the decision of is this an asian joint or american? I believe the owners are of Asian decent, which explains why the inside resembles a like a Chinese restaurant. The server was cute and and attentive. I had ordered a chicken fried steak and was given biscuits and gravy.. naturally I advised the waitress I had ordered a chicken fried steak.. we started off okay she got my chicken fried steak. Then she brought my daughters burger.. my daughter went to put her condimenta on and there was beard hair and a head hair in it. Mind you we didnt even touch the plate and I let the lady know. She proceeded by calling us fat liars and complainers and that we need to go back to mexico. Unnecessary. I told her she needed work on her customer service and why would we lie if we hadn't even yet touched the burger. She threatened to call the cops because I said Im not paying based on the hair and her behavior. I did her a favor and called the cops myself and the health authority. Wishing anyone luck who continues to go there. I hope you dont have the same experience and no racism is thrown at you should they mess up your order. read more

I've never written a bad review about a place because I don't like to spread negativity, but wow, I'd rate this shithole 0 stars if I could. I went out for lunch with one of my friends after work and we each ordered a chicken salad, and two drinks a piece. Our first drink, we asked for a double shot, and a single shot in the second. When we got our drinks we were expecting them to taste strong because of our requested double shot, but they tasted like regular lemonade with a twist. I had it put on the same check so it would be quicker, my total was $101.50. Our waitress put FOUR shots each into our first drink (what should have been a double shot), and TWO shots in what should've been a single shot. Our waitress told us it's because she thought we meant "put a double of each flavored alcohol into our drinks." And "add a single shot of each in the second drink." Well, in reality we truly just wanted what we asked for. I guess I just assumed she'd know how to make drinks considering she works at this place somehow. We went back to explain to her what we actually wanted put in our drinks and it only knocked the price down $10....so basically we got robbed by a hole-in-the-wall with painfully average food, and bland drinks. Do not be put off by the place being empty. Most people are there super early or at lunch. Restaurant could not handle a party of 12 even though they had advance notice. Prawns are basically basically Costco shrimp deep fried. Three people in our party were served 30 minutes after the rest of us and another table that arrived after us was served before them. We use to love this place but something has changed.. their menu was smaller with less options, their burgers were plain and their ranch was disgusting! Tasted like something you'd get from the dollar store. The waitress had no idea what she was doing either.. I asked if they had blue cheese to put on my burger and she said yes then only to find out it was blue cheese DRESSING not actual cheese.. when we asked about beers she was confused and no idea what kind of beers they had so I told her I'd take whatever cider they had. She came back with hot apple cider and cider packet.. I ended up getting the salad which was just chopped up lettuce and a couple tomato slices and mushrooms but I couldn't eat it with the gross ranch they had. Before I tasted it though I asked for croutons and she came back with prepackaged crackers.. She then proceeded to ignore us as she sat down at a table with a older couple who walked in and talk to them even though they obviously just wanted to order... My mushroom Swiss was hot, that's about it. My wife's grill cheese was terrible. One slice of cheese, bread was toasted on one side, butter soaked on the other. We went in for breakfast, after having sunset grill delivered to our house once before, through a delivery site. After being extremely pleased with food then, we thought we should physically come and visit the restaurant. After going today, I am so happy we did! The food was delicious and great portions. I ordered the ranch hand's favorite, which included two eggs, 4 pieces of quality delicious bacon, hasbrowns crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside, and extremely tasty, along with two bisquits and gravy. I must honestly say their gravy is amazing! It taste like the gravy I make, thick, creamy, a little kick due to the pepper and full of flavor! All the items were warm, just off the griddle, tasted amazing and the service was great! Not once did we have to ask for a coffee refill, the lady would come around about every 5 minutes. The food is pretty good, nothing extravagant though, it's not something I'd write home about, and the service is absolutely horrible. We have a big group that goes once a month and we have to continually ask for menus, drinks, to order, etc. The gal who is waitress is nice enough but she's a flake. Just last month I had to ask to receive a drink--a soda more than once, and I had to ask at least 3-4 times for her to come take my husbands order as he had to leave before any of the rest of us as he had to go to work that night. I only go there because of the group that I meet once a month. There are at least 3-4 of us that are tired of this kind of service and we're about to start asking the group to go somewhere else because of the lousy service we receive. read more

They have also added lottery which is cool. Good place to bring out of towners for a great meal at a decent price.
