Update on Hawaiian Telcom located 1177 Bishop St. Today I needed to return a modem to Hawaiian Telcom if not it's a $200 fee . So of course decided to return it instead of getting charged . Service was friendly although I was the only customer lol . Support local

Waited almost an hour on their 24 hr customer service. Nobody ever came. Why do they lie about a service they don't have?!

What is the average wait-time to drop off residential box? Is there a long line ? What are peak hours (to avoid?) Mahalo from Kaimuki.

Yes!

Where do I drop off my boxes?

Take Kapolei Pkwy towards Kapolei to Ft Barrett Rd and turn Right. Just before the next stop light is a small building on the left with the driveway right before it. Drop off your equipment inside. I'm not sure of there weekend hours.

Is there a specific number we can call on the weekends to get help with our service? I've called several numbers and have been on hold a totall of 5 hours with no representative answering the phone in the last two days. Disappointed

643-3456 Have you tried this number?

Is there really no walk-in office for customers? I was told that they only provide service over the phone or online.

I'm experiencing a two hour wait trying to call in with a problem I'm having with Hawaiian Telcom Internet.

I wanted to ask if anyone has tried Hawaiian Telcom's 1 GB Sevice? Did it work as advertised? And were you satisfied with the service?

It depends where you are for their fiber 1gb service. I'd say in general you can expect reliable speeds as long you're not too far out of town. Be aware that if you're relying on wifi it's a waste of money though. That speed will only happen if… Read more

Am I required to sign up for a 3-year contract? I'd rather have a month to month service so I can cancel without paying a penalty.

Nothing is certain with Hawaiian Telcom, except that you will wind up paying more than you thought you would. Get on the phone with them and make them promise you that your service will be month to month. And never, ever let a company take your… Read more

The earliest appointment was for the next day Thursday March 26, 2026 at 5:45pm. I took the 7:00pm appointment and they close at 8:00pm. We walked in and the place was full of people. On the screen showed 32 people on the walk in wait list!! I checked in at 6:45pm for the 7:00pm which is the 15 minutes recommended on the iPad? 6:50pm, we were helped by SAGE a very friendly sales associate? He asked for an I.D and started the process of getting what we needed the replacements of the 2 cable boxes. SAGE talked and worked fast at the same time which made it go by so fast. It was a very nice and comfortable first experience. By 7:10pm and only in 20 minutes we were walking out the door with what we came for. We went home and set it up and it's all good again. You can tell a lot by a company's practices and spectrum will intentionally keep you on the phone to cancel for at least 10 minutes telling you that it's still processing. That just cant be true for any technological reason. If you can live stream from your phone, the ISP can't need that much time to process a simple disconnect function. Where before I thought I might just live near old infrastructure, I now think this company is intentionally bad. Poor form Spectrum.

I prefer to get my pocket wifi before leaving for my trip so I dont have to worry about it once landing. I usually book online and get a phone confirmation. Pick up is a day before your trip at their Waikiki location. The only hard part is their pick up location, but if you bring a friend with you to wait in the car, it should be fine - or you could grab a bite in the Waikiki shopping plaza since you're already driving there! The wifi itself is easy to use. They explain to you when you pick up, but its all pretty self explanatory. The battery lasted pretty much the whole day if fully charged and is small enough to carry around with you all day without adding extra weight. You can return the wifi when you get back to Hawaii on the departures floor after getting your luggage. Would highly recommend booking for your next Japan trip!

We booked another pocket wifi…read morefor our trip to Japan earlier this year and we appreciate how we were able to booked without placing a down payment for a reservation. The pocket WiFi was different from what we used before. It was newer, thinner, and lighter. The only downside was that there's no indication on how much battery is left. You need to scan the QR code sticker on the back of the pocket WiFi and the status will be shown on your phone. It is a little inconvenient and the website to show the status was pretty wonky and in Japanese. Regardless, the WiFi was good. The signal was great when we were visiting major cities such at Tokyo and Osaka. There was an issue with connecting when we first arrived but we reset the WiFi using the paper clip pin provided in the bag. The bag included instructions, paper clip, and charger. Overall, the WiFi signal is not perfect but it is good enough to last your whole trip in Japan without any major issues. It lasted about little over 10 hours on a full charge. The pocket WiFi is convenient and pretty affordable to share among 5 people without having slow data.

That didn't work and now they are sending a tech over since our phone service still doesn't work when we asked several times for a tech to be onsite. It has taken us over a month from porting to still not having phone service. Their solution is that you have to buy more services which then takes LONGER to implement.
