Delicious breakfast and nice waitress. The French toast was delicious too! Simple gem that makes hatboro unique

Food is decent here. Stopped by here for lunch since the restaurant we originally wanted to go to was closed. They sell breakfast and lunch food and they have good variety of different products. I ordered a Reuben, which was good and my friends order a breakfast burger and chicken Florentine sandwich. Our food came out relatively fast but the service was little slow but our server was very friendly. The layout of the restaurant is kind of odd. I was not fan of how the tables were set up but it was pretty clean. The bathroom....the bathroom...smelled HORRIBLE! it looked like it hasn't been cleaned for ages either. I think a clean bathroom says a lot about the restaurant's cleanness and the bathroom here was horrible! I probably stop by here again for lunch but I will not use the bathroom here!

I'm not from Hatboro area so finding this place was kinda tough. When i did. I was glad to have some change on me for the meter for parking.. Watch out for the ppl speeding down the road when getting out of your vehicle. When arriving inside from the start I really liked the atmosphere. The waitress was very nice. Not many ppl in there on a early Thursday morning. So being seated was not a problem... I had 3 eggs over easy, with silver dollar Pancakes and French toast with coffee. The food was great. Pretty thick slices of French toast which was filling. Coffee was by far some of the best I've had. The food came out with in about 10 min of ordering. The menu had alot of breakfast items to choose from. So kinda took me awile to deside what I wanted. Look forward to coming back in the near future for breakfast again.

Ordered a 30 person cater of eggs, potatoes, bacon, and pancakes. Also came with an assorted pastry tray. They provided forks/spoons/knives, syrups, butters, plates, bowls, tongs, and serving spoons. All great, but here is why I am writing the review... they offered to lend us the racks to put the food trays into, provided the sterno's to keep everything hot, the half pans to hold the water, and all of this was under $300!!! The food was amazing (as always) and my client was over the moon!! Jackie and Tony have a hell of a great establishment and I will recommend you to everyone.

Hatboro Dish sits on York Road (Main Street) in Hatboro, PA. It is a square room with black tables & chairs, but no counter. It has the feel of a small café, without the emphasis on coffee. Their breakfast menu is creative and offers a nice variety of morning choices. I asked my very pleasant server which way to go - french toast or one of their skillets? She unreservedly recommended the frenchie. Well, alright! While waiting, I looked around the house. About one third full, with mostly locals who knew the staff well enough to have them sit a while to chat. Nice vibe. The coffee arrived in a thermos pitcher for unlimited refills, and the milk I requested, in a small stainless vessel. It was decent java, but without pedigree. Nice to have all I wanted. The main course was basically a thick cut cinnamon bread dipped in egg, and heated on the grill. It was good, but because of its thickness, the egg did not penetrate deeply into the slices. They were pretty dry, and the extra dose of their syrup (not maple) helped a bit, but, could not compensate for the lack of egg melding with the texture of the bread, which is what french toast is all about. So, it was okay, but not what it could have been given the excellent raw materials. Too bad, because the Dish could have been a real contender.

Only reason I'm giving a 4 star instead of 5 was the somewhat disappointing service. Not bad enough to never go again, she was super nice, but just slightly less attentive than you'd hope. I had a Philly cheesesteak skillet and I can't wait to try all of the others!! My husband has the Hatboro Dish classic breakfast and said the bacon was the best bacon he'd ever had at a breakfast spot and the French toast was delicious.

My fave breakfast in Hatboro, and we have lots of choices in this town. Must have is the French toast, but my fave is the eggs Benedict.

My wife heard about Steel Penny Cafe from a colleague at work who lives in Hatboro, so we decided…read moreto check it out on Thursday, February 12, 2026. We are glad we did. From the street it has a really cool look and the inside leans into an industrial style with a great aesthetic. It's a comfortable space with a nice vibe. We ordered a couple of cocktails: a lemon drop and a Manhattan. Strategically we decided to split a Detroit-style pizza called the Iron Pig. Good call because one square was the perfect amount for dinner. And now we have a few meals to heat up for the next few days. The drinks were excellent and the pizza was outstanding. Great flavor. Our server Ally was welcoming and friendly and top notch on service. It is the middle of winter so we weren't considering outside dining, but they have a great outdoor space near the street. Looks like a fun place to hang out. It's definitely a place we'd consider visiting again.

They don't have server tunnel vision, they work as a team and it shows! The vibes are so cool here. I mean, if you're gonna open a cafe next to a scrap yard, you have to lean in to the theming. I love the vibes, I love the appearance. The food is amazing top to bottom. First, their coffee drinks are always spot hitting, partly due to the fact that they roast their own coffee beans on site. The cocktail menu is always enticing an even though I'm not a huge drinker, I'll be working my way around this. The breakfast options are plenty and if you don't get their bacon you are missing out! The lunch sandwiches are served on a house made ciabatta style bread. Packed with fresh meats, cheeses and veggies. Every ingredient is perfectly seasoned and added delicately, not just items slapped on a roll. The Detroit pizza is what initially drew me in. While they have some options with more toppings, I'd say go for some of the more simple Detroit pies to really allow the famous crust to really shine through. My personal favorite so far is the white pie they do with roasted portobello mushrooms. I have only been for breakfast and lunch but with all the craft beer options I need to go back for dinner to sit and relax with some friends and family!

We went for the happy hour app and drink specials for our birthdays, but because it took our server 15 minutes to come back and check on us, they wouldn't let us get the specials. (Felt intentional, like they were stalling) Our server was nice, but not attentive at all. I would have given it 4 or 5 stars if it wasnt so pricey and the service was better. We will definitely give it a weekend try, just in case it was an off night. Tip: I was not a fan of sitting in the half booth tables right by the hostess stand. It was extra dark and it felt more like where you sit while waiting for your actual table. Ask to be seated further in the dining room...it is really cool inside! Big parties can even get seated IN a birdcage!
