Met up with four friends this morning for breakfast. We had a reservation for 10am. I had never heard of this restaurant before one of the friends mentioned it for today. Had a down home diner type feel. Our waitress was friendly and funny, which I alway enjoy! They walk around offering refills on your hot coffee. I ordered two eggs over medium with wheat toast and bacon well done. I wanted Turkey bacon but they had just ran out. Everything was very good! I want to like this place, I really do, but my experiences there never leads me in that direction. The servers I have had have always been unattentive and no matter what, my tables order is always wrong. (mostly overcooked or undercooked) The food is, eh, mediocre. I've had better, I've had worse. The prices are pretty high too, for what you get. My last visit was pretty poor. I haven't been back since. We really like this place! We are breakfast here over the weekend. The breakfast potatoes are different than anywhere else. They are made from red potatoes that still have the skin on and have a yummy seasoning. They were too salty this time around but still good! I also got a Western omelette which was great. The other issue we had was my daughter's chocolate milk. I asked why she wasn't drinking it and she said it tasted different. I tasted it and the milk had gone bad. I let the staff know that their milk was bad. Not a big issue though, so we will return! read more

Sadly I was pretty disappointed with this little breakfast spot, I got eggs pancakes bacon and sausage, and my partner got a corn beef hash. She didn't like hers at all, but I will say the waitress was fast to pull it off the bill which id always appreciated when you don't eat the food. The wait staff was pretty friendly and the ambiance is what you would expect for a little breakfast spot in a little town. The food just wasn't up to par on my meal either. The pancakes were pretty good but the eggs were extremely runny the sausage tasted like it had been microwaved and it just overall wasn't that great. Still I give it a 3 star because it could have been an off day I went in the morning on a week day so a weekend might be better when they are more crowded. Food is decent here. Stopped by here for lunch since the restaurant we originally wanted to go to was closed. They sell breakfast and lunch food and they have good variety of different products. I ordered a Reuben, which was good and my friends order a breakfast burger and chicken Florentine sandwich. Our food came out relatively fast but the service was little slow but our server was very friendly. The layout of the restaurant is kind of odd. I was not fan of how the tables were set up but it was pretty clean. The bathroom....the bathroom...smelled HORRIBLE! it looked like it hasn't been cleaned for ages either. I think a clean bathroom says a lot about the restaurant's cleanness and the bathroom here was horrible! I probably stop by here again for lunch but I will not use the bathroom here! read more

I'm not from Hatboro area so finding this place was kinda tough. When i did. I was glad to have some change on me for the meter for parking.. Watch out for the ppl speeding down the road when getting out of your vehicle. When arriving inside from the start I really liked the atmosphere. The waitress was very nice. Not many ppl in there on a early Thursday morning. So being seated was not a problem... I had 3 eggs over easy, with silver dollar Pancakes and French toast with coffee. The food was great. Pretty thick slices of French toast which was filling. Coffee was by far some of the best I've had. The food came out with in about 10 min of ordering. The menu had alot of breakfast items to choose from. So kinda took me awile to deside what I wanted. Look forward to coming back in the near future for breakfast again. read more

Ordered a 30 person cater of eggs, potatoes, bacon, and pancakes. Also came with an assorted pastry tray. They provided forks/spoons/knives, syrups, butters, plates, bowls, tongs, and serving spoons. All great, but here is why I am writing the review... they offered to lend us the racks to put the food trays into, provided the sterno's to keep everything hot, the half pans to hold the water, and all of this was under $300!!! NOT KID-FRIENDLY!.... or friendly at all for that matter. Today at the Hatboro Dish they have lost more than a handful of loyal customers due to horrible customer service. Not from anyone else in the restaurant, just our rude waitress. I didn't get her name because she actually didn't us her name since she was rushing for our order the moment we sat down. I was there with my 1.5 year old son, my nephew, sister, and brother-in-law. Our rude waitress came over and got our drink order and was trying to rush us to put in the food order. I found this to be odd since there were only about 5 other tables seated. No wait at all. My son, being the toddler he is, playing with the jam "building blocks" with his cousin got excited and started to scream, and of course as a parent, we tried to calm him down. His cousin even walked him around to past the time as we waited for the food. You know, kids get antsy! Not one minute later, the rude waitress comes over and says "Um, can you control him, they are trying to have a meeting." EXCUSE ME? You don't think we are trying to control him? My brother-in-law immediately took my son outside. It took me a few seconds to process just happened. Like did she really just say that? At this point my blood is boiling and I knew I had to leave. Then I had to wait for her to come out of hiding to cancel the entire order. At this point she said "oh oh I'm sorry...they were looking over hear like what's happening I'm sorry I'm so sorry. TOO LATE. Not only did we go there regularly with our families, we also brought all of our out of town family and friends there for brunch every time we had a gathering, wedding, and reunion. Hatboro Dish sits on York Road (Main Street) in Hatboro, PA. It is a square room with black tables & chairs, but no counter. It has the feel of a small café, without the emphasis on coffee. Their breakfast menu is creative and offers a nice variety of morning choices. I asked my very pleasant server which way to go - french toast or one of their skillets? She unreservedly recommended the frenchie. Well, alright! While waiting, I looked around the house. About one third full, with mostly locals who knew the staff well enough to have them sit a while to chat. Nice vibe. The coffee arrived in a thermos pitcher for unlimited refills, and the milk I requested, in a small stainless vessel. It was decent java, but without pedigree. Nice to have all I wanted. The main course was basically a thick cut cinnamon bread dipped in egg, and heated on the grill. It was good, but because of its thickness, the egg did not penetrate deeply into the slices. They were pretty dry, and the extra dose of their syrup (not maple) helped a bit, but, could not compensate for the lack of egg melding with the texture of the bread, which is what french toast is all about. So, it was okay, but not what it could have been given the excellent raw materials. Too bad, because the Dish could have been a real contender. read more

Only reason I'm giving a 4 star instead of 5 was the somewhat disappointing service. Not bad enough to never go again, she was super nice, but just slightly less attentive than you'd hope. I had a Philly cheesesteak skillet and I can't wait to try all of the others!! Blink and you miss Hatboro Dish and you'd be sad if you did. This totally nondescript building that really could be anything. Dish does a fantastic lunch and breakfast. The "dishes", a breakfast specialty served in a small skillet have the perfect blend of ingredients. Our most recent trip was for lunch where we were treated to the Sweet and Sour grilled cheese and a Turkey ruben. Both were fantastic. Bread toasted to perfection, cheese was melted and blended with Russian dressing and sauerkraut. Service is friendly and attentive. Hatboro dish is a neighborhood gem. read more

While in town for a wedding, a group of us stopped here for breakfast. The town of Hatboro is quaint and super adorable. The Hatboro Dish had a friendly atmosphere and was busy when we walked in but our big group was quickly sat at a large table. I ordered two eggs overeasy with wheat toast and breakfast potatoes along with a side of strawberries. My hubby had a South of the Border breakfast skillet which was packed full of a variety of breakfast goodies. Our waitress was friendly but only checked on us once plus didnt ask us if we wanted separate checks for a group of 6 so I took a star off. The Hatboro Dish is offering family style meals for curbside pickup or local delivery. I've had 2 regular weekday meals, Easter dinner and now Mother's Day brunch. The amount of food is perfect and delicious and they don't take you to the bank on pricing. The Brunch consisted of bagels with cream cheese, lox's, onions and capers, a fruit bowl, their to die for French Toast and sausage quiche, followed by a salad, dressing, dinner rolls, we chose the crab cakes, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables and chocolate mouse for desert. Jackie and staff go above and beyond to offer great food and service to the area. Always pleasant and quick to respond. I for one hope that they continue this service after the quarantine. read more

Brilliant little spot. Started going here prior to covid and have been a little more sparing on my going out since but they never disappoint. I don't know what was happening today. I've been coming here since 2005, when it was Lochel's. Today they messed up my take out order severely. It may have been cooked well but I couldn't tell. When I went to pick it up I was told, only then, not on the phone when I ordered, that it would be a half hour to an hour more before it was ready. A half hour later I called and was told it was ready. Upon picking it up I asked how long it had been sitting there and was told 10 minutes. So, it sat steaming inside the take out containers become soggy and unappetizing. When I got home I realized about half my order wasn't even there. I called and found out it hadn't been entered into the computer, even though when I was ordering the server repeated each item back. You should put your A team on Sunday mornings. Until you get an efficient staff again I will be giving my money to your various, and quite good competitors. read more
