This place wasn't great to begin with but it's slowly going downhill. The portions are always off- sometimes I get a generous amount of food and others, it's barely enough. They often forget dressing on the spring mix salad that comes with the Benedicts so I get dry salad every time and must request dressing. I don't even like too much dressing but it is bone dry. They should just give a little on the side so ppl can dress themselves. The potatoes are overly salted. And any dish or hash that mentions potatoes- you will get more potato than any other ingredient. It's a scam. I'm paying for a "steak" hash that has scraps of meat. Idk. No waiter to be seen for 15 minutes, then didn't see food for another 45 minutes. Once the food arrived I started with the bread, and someone with me pointed out the MOLD patches after I had taken a bite. Had to spit it out, and ended up spraying my omelette in the process. No check-in from the waiter after about 10 minutes, so I walked it back to the kitchen and brought it to their attention. No apologies or concern, just an offer to "remake it". Cherry on top? They were out of the "fresh baked" bread so it was subbed out. The waiter took my meal off of the check, but I still ended up paying for my coffee and juice. First Watch has become our go to breakfast place. The staff is well trained, friendly, and work well together. They are like a big happy family. We enjoy the atmosphere, even if it gets a bit too loud at times. We have our favorite manager, she's quick to fix any problem that may come up. I struggle to understand how they are so busy, all of the time. Not that there are many good options in this area, but they're not like this. I guess in all fairness I haven't had their lunch. I absolutely love first watch , it's about time they opened in Montgomeryville! The chickichanga is so tasty and creative I think it is one of my favorite breakfast items ever. The chorizo is the star of this dish and I would recommend anything with chorizo as an ingredient. I also love the pancakes, they make seasonal variations and I have had the pumpkin pancakes that were awesome. The potato's are also far better then the average breakfast places in the area , delicious. I have only visited two locations, the first time I dined at the Hershey location I was blown away. I thought it was a locally owned fabulous place and when I found out it was a chain I was in shock. I'm so happy that they are growing and have opened in Montgomeryville. This is our first time at a First Watch location and it exceeded my expectations, especially for a soft opening, The restaurant has a farm-style decor and it's bright and inviting. I had the smoked salmon eggs-Benedict. They were well prepared and tasty yet the hollandaise sauce was too lemony. My husband had the works omelet which he enjoyed. The ingredients resembled Homestyle preparation. We each had the seasoned potatoes( menu states they are available upon request) which were a bit salty but appealing with nice size diced potatoes and sautéed onions. We had coffee and a carafe was also left at the table. If you request water, an old-fashioned milk bottle will be left on the table.
