We were looking for a place for breakfast leaving the Keys on Sunday and saw all the cars here so looked on Yelp real quick. We did a Uturn and drove right back. There was a wait but it wasn't bad and we were actually seated quicker than expected. The place is small so they pack you in but that's fine. Typical breakfast fare and their claim to fame is their muffins. Reading the history was interesting. Hubby had an egg platter with Canadian bacon and hashbrowns. I had blueberry pancakes, hashbrowns and cheese grits. Also enjoyed a mimosa while waiting for breakfast. Our server was friendly and prompt. The food came out very quickly. I was not crazy about the grits as the cheese they used was American. My fault for not asking. I also thought the hashbrowns could have cooked longer. Hubby agreed. Overall, it was good. I wish one of us had ordered the biscuit. I saw it on another table and it looked incredible. We aren't muffin people but they offer probably 20 flavors or more. Solid choice for breakfast in Key Largo. On a recent trip to the Keys, we wanted something filling for breakfast. The type of meal that would keep us satisfied through swimming, snorkeling, and time in the sun, and that also gave us a little local flavor. After a quick search for nearby breakfast spots, we saw that Harriette's was highly rated and decided to check it out. She enjoyed the cinnamon swirl, which looked like it had stripes of cinnamon throughout. The top of the guava cream cheese was good, but the middle/bottom was like just plain pound cake. The key lime pie muffin was sadly disappointing. The bottom was soggy, like all of the lime juice just settled there. As soon as I took it out of the muffin cup parts of the bottom started to fall off because it was so wet. Some of the best muffins, I have ever tasted at $4.75 a little pricey but worth it. The key lime and key lime coconut are must tries, I love the key lime custard they add in the middle of the muffins. We also tried oreo cream with the cream being on the top of the cupcake very good. LOVE Harriette's Restaurant and it's now my favorite breakfast place in the FL Keys! We happened to stumble across it while staying at the Baker's Cay resort which was walking or biking distance and we ended up taking a nice leisurely stroll which took about 15 minutes each way from the resort. We found it and it's amazing reviews on Yelp. :-) The food is great and of course their muffins- light and delicious!!! We took some back for our family (key lime and coconut key lime) and they were devoured fast! I really enjoyed their Greek feta omelet and veggie omelet.
