I have been going to Charlie's long before they moved to University In Tempe! I love there great food. This was a total surprise to me! About 10:05 this AM I had a nail appointment but driving the got very ill, severe pain in my stomach I am 80 years old so felt I better eat. I walked in cashier said no to go ordes.But I could sit at counter order food and take it with me ???I ordered a eggs sandwich telling waitress (1) egg (2 over hits bread Nothing on bread No toast. She said it comes with lettuce tomato and mayo. I said no toast nothing on bread but an egg.then she comes back says they have no white bread, but another lady said yes we do. I ordered a cup of hot tea in a to go cup! She gave me the check $23.65.I questioned the price I was told their prices in up.My order came in to go container Potatoes on top f my toast with butter on toast and egg. I said I did not order this. Waitress said you ordered an egg sandwich. I was so sick about to throw up and he is arguing with me. I had to walk out. So I guess my cup of Tea cost me $23.65. read more

I know this place gets lots of raves but for the Life of me, I Don't know why. We had breakfast this morning and I had the " Tiffany Omelette ". It was horrible. The description said it had shrimp, asparagus and cheese topped with hollandaise. I subbed tomatoes for the asparagus. I expected seasoned sautéed shrimp inside and instead I got plain defrosted semi warm shrimp, like you would find in a shrimp cocktail???? This complete omelette was tasteless and about $16. To be fair, our server did ask it everything was good so far and I didn't say anything. It certainly wasn't her fault and my husband was halfway through his chorizo and eggs. We of course tipped her generously. This is not our first time here. We are natives and have been here probably 3X when it was convenient to stop. I would just pass on this place, especially if there is a wait because it's not worth it. read more

Nearby on business and stopped in. Ordered the in-house chicken fried steak, over easy, wheat. It came with hash browns. The breading on the steak tasted like flour (or maybe it was the gravy?) and I like the steak itself to be not so thin. The hash browns were cooked long before being served, barely above room temperature, and stale. Even the wheat toast bread was stale and dry. The eggs were over medium with just a little runny yolk. Last morning in Tempe after a long weekend. We had an couple hours to kill before our flight and this was recommended by a friend. It's the definition of a mom and pop breakfast spot, the owner knows all the regulars and treats them like family. The staff was friendly, great attitudes and just great service overall. Food was filling and great (especially after the weekend we had). And not to mention probably the best overloaded bloodymarys you will find in the area. I can find myself writing another review for this place with some better news. I don't have anything "bad" to report, just an experience. This place is known for their blueberry pancakes. I think a better word could actually be pancaked blueberries haha. They do NOT hold back on how many blueberries they put in, one could almost say the pancake taste isn't there . Which isn't a complaint! I tried the regular pancakes the last time I was there, I forgot to take pictures of everything. The pancakes I had were huge and fluffy, but slightly dry, they were also not very warm, I just assume they were so busy our server didn't bring them as fast as she could have if there was less people. This place is always packed. The building is old, the pictures on the walls are old. I love that old/antique esthetic. It's my favorite. The walls are wood paneled if that says anything about how old it is! The service is always great, even when it's busy they seem to get the food out so fast. I went on a Tuesday and it was so packed, their parking lot was full. I had to drive around for a few minutes to find a spot. I still got a seat right away though! They need a better parking lot but there's obviously not much they can do. But for how busy they are, they should have their own parking lot, but they share it with a circle k, a tack and feed store and a few other places. Some of the parking spots specifically say no restaurant parking which makes it even more difficult to find a spot. So even though I thought the pancakes were a little dry, I see their other menu options and have seen the food on peoples tables and honestly, everything looks so good, I'm disappointed in myself for getting pancakes, haha. I want to go again, try something new and write about that food next. This place has a loyal customer base, for it to be a Tuesday morning and be almost totally packed. read more

Harrow's was the hole in the wall we have been looking for. Some breakfast spots around here have been getting a little too boujee. Food tastes like it came from your grandma's kitchen. Most breakfast places are similar to one another, but this one is amazing! The chorizo and eggs had so much flavor, and I ate most of my husbands meal instead of mine, even though mine was great also. The bacon, and especially the french toast (from a local bakery and some sort of Hawaiian bread) was phenomenal! Love that they use Land O Lakes butter cups, and hot syrup! Everything was incredibly tasty here. Highly recommended! We will definitely be back! Even the staff went above and beyond bringing us chips and salsa, and they were all so very friendly. I love their perasian omelette and people I have gone with have tried a variety of breakfast items and have also loved it. Homemade hash browns and roasted, diced potatoes crisped to perfection. The salsa was a little watery but otherwise it was a very flavorful dish. OH! And how could I forget!
