NOPE! Steer clear of this place! We had a reservation for 3, reserved a high top and that's where it went down hill! Not only did they not give us a high top which is basically the "bar area" but they put us outside on the patio with ZERO ventilation! After 15 min SEBASTIAN FINALLY comes to take our order ( mind you this guy, has past us at least 4 times and not said one word to us) finally he comes over to introduce himself, we order drinks and food and W A I T! W A I T........ W.A.I.T!! We can see our drinks sitting there, 10 min later we can see our drinks sweating on the bar and SEBASTIAN IS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND! We had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe in Honolulu recently and we had a great experience. We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartenders who were very pleasant, helpful and prompt. We were planning on having dinner later so we decided to order some appetizers to tide us over. The Boneless Chicken wings were delicious and mixed with a fantastic buffalo sauce. Unfortunately, what should have been a fun evening at Hard Rock Waikiki started with a very unpleasant experience in the merchandise store. Before dinner, my wife and I stopped downstairs to buy souvenirs. An employee named Chris, who later identified himself as a supervisor, repeatedly got uncomfortably close to my wife's personal space. When she found a jacket she liked and politely asked if they had a larger size, Chris rudely told her, "No, that's all we have." When she said she might be able to find it online, his response was again dismissive and unfriendly. I noticed his behavior but chose not to say anything. We were on vacation, and I did not want to create a scene or upset my wife and ruin our evening. We simply left and went upstairs for dinner. After we sat down, I decided I really wanted a jacket I had seen downstairs, so I went back alone to purchase it. Unfortunately, Chris ended up handling my transaction. While I was inserting my credit card, another employee approached him, and Chris began talking with her while essentially ignoring me in the middle of my purchase. He then handed me a receipt and pen. When the pen did not work, I tried another one from the holder. Instead of simply explaining the situation, he abruptly told me that it was electronic and I could not sign it with the pen. After experiencing his attitude for a second time, I finally asked him why he was behaving this way and told him he had also been rude to my wife earlier. He denied doing anything wrong. When I asked his name, he proudly identified himself as Chris and told me he was the supervisor. I told him that perhaps he should not be a supervisor if this is how he treats customers. His response was a dismissive, mocking goodbye. Thankfully, our experience upstairs was completely different. Manager Michelle was wonderful. She listened to what happened, sincerely apologized, and told us she would address it. Kristen also came over, apologized, and treated us with genuine kindness and professionalism. The food was fresh and excellent, and they did everything possible to turn our evening around. We were not looking for freebies and declined the dessert Michelle offered. They did remove our drinks from the bill, leaving us with a check of around $30. We left approximately a $30 tip because we wanted to show our appreciation for how well we were treated by the restaurant staff. I am posting this because no customer should be made to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome, especially by someone who identifies himself as a supervisor. We will not return to this Hard Rock location because of our experience with Chris, and I sincerely hope management addresses the situation so another customer does not have the same experience. A huge thank you to Michelle and Kristen. They demonstrated exactly what good customer service and hospitality should look like. read more

When in Honolulu....go to somewhere husband is familiar (just because of our food choices differ a lot). Anyway, on the 1st floor is the gift shop and then go upstairs for the restaurant. The place and decor is really nice....we were seated overlooking the road. I got the Swiss Mushroom Smash Burger, a two smashed & stacked burgers seasoned and seared medium-well, with Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, leaf lettuce, vine-ripened tomato and dijonnaise. Except for the view I would have thought I was on the mainland. Nice staff and decor. Amaya was an excellent server. I enjoyed the local beer. Food and service was great, but ambiance was soured by the new karaoke MC. I was excited about the new Karaoke Tuesdays. I didn't even care about the prizes (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place gift cards), bc the drink specials were alluring enough. but the MC made the shitty move of notifying me and another person signing up our song to sing, that "locals/regulars" would not be considered for the prizes, only tourists dining in. WTFfff... I spend well, and tip Better than the tourists!! The icing on the cake is, the MC doesn't even honor the list, participants get pushed down the list further and further down the list as each new person enters the restaurant. Really wanted to like this restaurant, we do not have a hard rock café in Seattle due to it being closed years ago. I heard a lot of people say how the food was not good. Me and my fiancé were in Honolulu and I saw the hard rock and wanted to try it. Looking at their website And then you looked really appetizing so we decided to give it a try! Started off with chicken nachos, those were OK nothing good nothing bad just kind of blasé. I ordered the steak fajitas, and my fiancé had the messi chicken sandwich which was for a limited time only unloaded fries. Immediately took a bite of my fajita and was not pleased. The meat was not seasoned nor were any of the onions or bell peppers. I was starving so I ate it, but there was absolutely no flavor :( I actually ended up using the avocado cream of sauce that came with our nachos, which made the fajita edible. But would not order those in the future! My fiancé's chicken sandwich was absolutely incredible, two chicken Katsu patties, loaded with cheese on a soft bun, it was huge, and normally my fiancé can finish a chicken sandwich and he couldn't finish it, no worries, though we took the rest home ! Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu is fun vibes with not-memorable food but memorable vibes! I went with my husband for his birthday and it was our first Hard Rock Cafe visit, ever! We are familiar with the brand but we didnt ever eat here. When we came in, we were greeted by an awesome staff team! Their service was so nice and attentive. I was impressed with how kind, quick, and cool our server was. I can't remember her name, but she was ELITE! When it's your birthday, except a ROCKIN announcement and a sweet treat! I will say The food was very mid... I can tell the recipes should be delicious and well balanced, but things were not cooked consistently and it tasted like they were made with minimal effort. Enjoyed our night out at hard Rock. The band was very good and played a good mix of songs. We sat at the bar so no wait for us! My margarita was really good and after months of not drinking I knew I couldn't order a second. I drank it way to fast. We ordered the spicy shrimp, nachos and burger. Both the burger abd shrimp were solid. Definitely something I could order again. The nachos should be removed from the menu. One thing that bothers me is a plate full of naked chips because you only put toppings on the top chips. I sent it back because I expected more toppings. The remade it but it was still very bare. It doesn't come with salsa and you really need sauce or they are very dry nachos. I left a plate full of chips and thankfully they removed from the bill. We didn't ask them to do that so I was impressed with the service and attention given to my lack of enjoyment. I will keep going to Hard Rock just won't order nachos ahain again. read more

My family and I had a really nice experience at Hard Rock. We were treated nicely from the moment we walked into the store area until we left. The host, waiter, manager, etc was very attentive and kept coming around to assure that everyone was doing okay. Our food came out fast, was hot and fresh. My husband and I's burgers were cooked perfectly and were packed with toppings to be honest. I did get loaded fries with mine and although I do not think it's worth the up charge price, they at least tasted really good. We were surprised to see that they had breakfast and so my daughter ended up getting their pancakes and they were very vanilla forward and sweet. Reminded me of the McGriddles from McDonald's in the best way! She loved them so much she didn't even add the syrup. They were also super accommodating with my pineapple allergy and gave her different fruit instead of the traditional pineapple it comes with. So very disappointed in our server, Tristan,after watching the UFC fights on Saturday. After asking him politely to split my tab off of a group of 3 other guys, at the very end hands me a tab with a 20 % auto gratuity. Auto grat is traditionally reserved for parties of 6 or more. First floor is the store and 2nd floor is the restaurant. The wall and ceiling above the stairs are decorated with guitars. Looks cool. The live band was playing from 8pm that night (Sunday). The food and service both times I have been here have been great. I love chain food so this isn't for someone seeking a culinary experience, mostly burgers, steaks, chicken, fajitas and some seafood. Deserts look amazing but didn't buy. Food is a bit pricey but in line with most Honolulu prices. As far as the atmosphere, like most Hard Rock cafes, expect noise and lots of it.
