This was our onsite, pool side dining option. Lovely setting with poolside tables and great ambiance! Open nightly from 5p-10p, they offered drinks, snacks & main dish food items. The staff was friendly and attentive, but definitely kept that "island time" pace. At one meal, it took over 15 minutes just to get our ices teas & waters. The food was pretty good but on the pricey side, even for Waikiki. Teri steak and fries were $24 for the a la carte steak (about 5-6oz of thin steak) and another $6 for the side of fries. Ouch. The owner is a lovely man, I can tell he puts his heart into the food and atmosphere, and I hope they'll see continued success with rising food costs. read more

I wanted to come here the last time I visited (November 2021), so was glad to stop by during my Spring trip! Ko Tiki Terrace is located at the Bamboo Hotel on Kuhio Ave. Food was simple and delicious! Friendly and attentive staff! Atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. You can also hear the mini waterfall behind the pool. The pool had a pretty blue color lighting, with a jacuzzi attached to the left. People are welcome to swim and chill in the waters. The place would be pretty solid, once they get their liquor license. However, they do allow you to BYOB (Bring your own Booze) and have non-alcoholic drinks you can mix with whichever booze you decide to bring. Recommend checking this place out! read more

Hello Yelpers, Yes, it's a 'bring your own beer/booze.' Yes, it's not a traditional tourist restaurant. Yes, they occasionally run out of menu items - fresh food verses stored anyone? If warranted, bring an adult beverage of choice, pick a table, and find a menu at the bar if you prefer not to wait for the lone gracious server. The food was delicious, steak was well cooked, salad dressing was on point and Potato Salad was excellent. Pool vibes were cool especially as it got darker. First of all, this place has potential but DAMN! That was about the strangest experience I've ever had at a restaurant. We were the only table. We weren't offered anything to drink aside from water. The menu is only a few things- I got the garlic chicken. It came with a scoop of rice and some strange looking deep fried meat. It tasted like fish and plastic. The poor waiter smelled bad, but he was sure trying. Poor guy. The place was just so strange. They don't have a liquor license either. So... no pop either...? Very weird and expensive. Ko Tiki Terrace was recommended by our VRBO host as a place that was excellent and not widely known so we decided to try it. Walking in was really cool. You enter from the Bamboo hotel lobby into the restaurant that is located in the outside middle of the hotel. Felt like a true tiki lounge! There is a pool in the middle that has an underwater purple light so the dimly lit area had some great ambiance. I think evening when it is dark is the perfect time to visit Ko Tiki Terrace. All tables were open so getting seated was not an issue but made us wonder why no one was there. They do not have a current beer/wine/etc license so that may be a factor. That is pretty much the highlights. The menu is different than what I would have expected. You pick a protein and then the sauce and sides. We all had chicken ($16) and then the sides were $8 each! So for a scoop of steamed rice or mac salad or fries, it was $8....50% of the price of our protein. Also, website is incorrect, it shows chicken as $9 The food was decent but the portions were unusually small...each dinner was served on a salad plate rather than a normal sized dinner plate. For 4 of us, it was a little over $100 for basically a small salad plate of 1 entree and 1 side and all drinking water. Our server was not rude but she was very disengaged. Basically stood behind the bar area with her AirPods and phone. She told me to get up and walk over to the bar area (where there were no customers) when I wanted the bill. Not really what is expected in a sit down restaurant like this. This place has a lot of potential. Ambiance is awesome but needs some Hawaiian music playing. Maybe modify the menu (and website) so that dinners are inclusive of sides and show total cost up front. Also, have the staff engage more with the guests. Next time we are in Waikiki, we will pop our heads in to see if things have changed...if not, for the money, I would head to Dukes. read more

By far, the oddest dining experience I've had. I came here in anticipation of Ko Tiki's Spam Jam specials back in late April along with a couple of girls in the local foodie community. Ko Tiki was supposed to have spam and kim chee with spam and egg furikake, spam and crab cake loco moco, seared ahi with spam furikake, mary mocktail, and spam and ube ice cream. We visited during the event time window, and none were available. The waiter told us that he wouldn't place blame on us if we decided to get up and leave, so that we could try any of the other participating Spam Jam restaurants. Thinking back, we should've done that. Upon being seated, he asked us for our names, which was cool, but he started writing them down so that he could refer to us by name throughout our dining experience. Throughout the experience, he kept getting our names wrong. Despite this, I still wanted to give them a fighting chance. We ended up ordering: - furikake spam fries ($6.50) - ahi poke with matsuri sauce ($14) - chicken with pineapple teriyaki sauce ($12) - fish (ahi) with spicy garlic sauce ($14) The dishes were okay at best, and subpar at worse. When eaten fresh, the fries were great. Entree-wise, we agreed that the ahi was much better than the chicken. The wait was also agonizingly long. Despite the relaxing tropical vibes that this place beholds, I don't think I'll be back. read more

Hidden Gem! but No Parking lot. Located in the Bamboo Waikiki Hotel nestled around the pool area. It's a quaint Tiki Bar with a small food menu. The items we ordered were very tasty. The evening we were there they featured live contemporary music that was lovely for the setting. Hotel guest were enjoying the pool as well as the hot tub. This place is a hidden gem for a small group gathering (per Covid guidelines). Amber and James made a great duo! We were there to continue pre-wedding festivities after a rehearsal dinner. They were super professional, great customer service, brought drinks and food out very quickly, and were gracious and accommodating to the bride and groom. Plus, you couldn't paint a better backdrop. weirdest dining experience i've had recently.... first of all they don't have a working phone number and the hours on website are wrong. the place was empty and we didn't even know we were in the right place at first haha. the waitress was not the most polite and didn't check in on us. also they don't have a liquor license so this is not a tiki bar, rather a BYOB establishment. the food was OK, we got the chicken plate with all three sides. mac/potato salad was tasty, but salad didn't come with dressing it was literally just lettuce. overall, very odd dining experience but food was decent. read more

I want to start off by saying that we didn't know what to expect when visiting Ko Tiki Terrace. The restaurant is located in a hotel pool area but that doesn't interfere with operations. We were seated right away and given menus. The menu only had a "select you own" style page which was confusing at first. We asked the server how it works and she explained it. We asked if there is anything else like a burger and she said she can get things made. We were confused bc there was nothing else on the menu to select. We ended up getting a Mahi Mahi burger and a Cheeseburger. Both dishes were not on the menu, came with chips and were absolutely delicious. Our overall experience was strange only bc the menu was blank, the server didn't know what was on the menu and the food was great! A note to the owner/manager: I'm not sure why the menu was blank but the food should be showcases in there. Also, the server didn't know the menu well and our questions were followed up with "I'm not sure" or "I guess it comes with it". read more

Restaurants are officially open and we decided to stop by this gem! We arrived at 8pm, walked into the Bamboo Hotel (where the restaurant is located) and was warmly greeted by Sam. First things first, the atmosphere was nice, it was dimly lit and gave off old school Hawaiian vibes. Here's a hack: if you have time, ask Sam about the restaurant decor, he has stories for days. For example, each pillar has a painted story on it. Even the design of long wooden table in the middle of the restaurant has it's own tale that I won't spoil. The food: I ordered the garlic steak and the matsuri shrimp rice plate. Not going to lie I was blown away. I usually share my food with my boyfriend, but today he was just my friend-LOL. He had the garlic steak and chicken plate. The food was cooked to perfection and was well seasoned. Also, let me tell you about the potato salad...I'm usually picky with my potato salad and have a habit of side eyeing whoever makes it from time to time. Let's just say Sam is invited to THE COOKOUT . Lastly, until they get their liquor license, it's BYOB which is fine. They also can make mocktails that you can spike with your own alcohol as an option. Overall, friendly staff, beautiful decor, amazing food, clean AF and support local restaurants!!! read more

It's our last full day on this beautiful island so we decided to eat somewhere we could walk to and found this cute little place on Yelp. It had some pretty great ratings and it wasn't going to break our bank. Our server, Liz, was super nice and even took our picture for us. The food was lovely, generous and delicious. Her personality is awesome and she has the best customer service I've experienced!! She really makes you feel like you are at home!! The food is also great and the prices are excellent!! No doubt the worst meal we've had in our five night stay in Oahu. Really don't see how anyone can give a higher rating unless their taste buds are malfunctioning or they've been eating a bland diet for most of their lives. We were seated right away, had our orders taken, then waited 30 minutes for our appetizer. At the 45 min mark the chef came out to greet the guests and apologize for the long wait (this seems to be the norm). At the one hour mark our food finally came. We ordered the garlic shrimp and steak with their "world famous" sauce. We also added $6 for rice, salad, and potato salad (was missing when our plates came). The shrimp was dry and salty. The steak was thinner than frozen Dollar Tree meats. The sauce was this black mess of sodium with a puddle of oil. The potato salad that came 10 minutes after our entrees was a step below KFC's coleslaw. All in all, you will have a MUCH better experience going to Denny's instead or stuffing yourselves with some gourmet 7/11 spam musubi. Don't make the same mistake as us. If a restaurant is inside a hotel, walk away! read more

We were checking out the condo at bamboo hotel. And decided to try out the restaurant on site. The manager Amber welcome us right away, we told her that we just want to have few drinks and appetizers. They still welcomed us and treat us like VIP. Not only manager.Amber was super professional and friendly, her entire team are at same level of service. Liz is our waitress. She have such great energy, not to mention working at Easter evening. If you ever been to Waikiki strip, you know what I mean. Hard to find people that really appreciate your business and give you warm welcome. Waiting for our food was long, 45 minutes waiting for food. I'm Vegan and they brought out 6 pieces of tofu over rice. They brought out 3 more pieces after complaining. Tofu tasted good. Staff is kind but tonight was unacceptable with communication. Manager was nice of enough to sit down and talk to us and give discount. read more

This place is a hidden gem. It is a new restaurant to go to eat and relax. The service is not the fastest but the food is phenomenal. Everything we ordered was delicious! Ahi steak was fresh, French fries is amazing! Garlic shrimp is perfectly seasoned. It was busy tonight and there was a band playing. Aloha! We are open EVERY DAY from 5pm until 10pm. Currently its is BYOB!! The last seating is at 9pm daily, but we offer takeout orders all the way until 10pm!! Kō Tiki Terrace is a recently opened casual restaurant and bar with roots deep in the Hawaiian soil. The setting is in the classic boutique Bamboo Hotel, just mere steps from Waikiki beach. The seating is laid out around a lava rock encrusted pool and waterfall, encircled by trees and palms over a half century old. The tables are made of slabs of historic Hawaiian wood (some over 150 years old) which had fallen naturally. The relaxed open air restaurant invites all people, whether in swimwear, sandy or barefooted, all are welcome! The flavors we offer are born from this land and were brought about by the colliding and communing between many cultures, and the forging of many friendships at this junction between the East and the West. One thing to note, they don't serve their lunch menu after 4:00 so we went there expecting burgers and they don't serve them. So we kind of stayed reluctantly. I ended up ordering the guava ribs and my wife got them too. Those had to be the best ribs I think I have ever had! They literally fall off the bone as you're trying to pick up the meat. One of the reasons we wanted to go here was we wanted the options of seafood but one of our adults doesn't like seafood and they said that they had all kinds of stuff, which they do. Our server Maka, was incredible. He brings us out a free appetizer and said that was from the chef. I don't know if it was the chef or him but I was impressed and it was good. It was some kind of little fried dumpling. It was awesome! One of the people in our party had thought he was not going to order something and I gave him one of my ribs and after he tasted it, suddenly he wanted some too. I grabbed Maka and asked him If he could get those ribs fast because the rest of us were already halfway through our meals. He got right on it and had that order in. The ribs came out just in time and everybody was happy. It ended up being one of the nicest meals that we had the whole week. We were here and it was a great way to end our vacation here in Hawaii.

I went to leave a review because our experience was great again, but was surprised when I opened yelp to find one already typed out. At first I thought it was an AI suggestion. All this to say, Tiki's is a must if you're walking down Waikiki! There's also FREE 3-hour parking downstairs when you visit. Tom told us of the daily happy hour from 2-5 and late night, and occasionally live music! Original visit (2021): We left the beach in search of a cool place to grab a bite and enjoy some beers! Tiki was the perfect spot! Our wait was short and our food came out quick! Our bartenders Marteen (sp?) and Kama not only provided excellent service, but were a pleasure to talk to! We had the Ahi Poke, the French Dip Sandwich and the Kalua Pig BBQ Sandwich. The BBQ sandwich came out on a taro bun and smothered in guava BBQ! It was our favorite! Forgot to snap a pic before devouring our food, but if you find yourself in the area it's a must stop!

My friend enjoyed her $26 pina colada in a pineapple shell, and the presentation was great, with the top on the pineapple and a little paper umbrella. My husband got an Amaretto sour and it was good. Live musicians were tuning up while we were here and there's a decibel reader nearby, presumably because it may get loud here. Nice place to go if you want a tiki-style drink in a casual environment. I will say that I am going to miss Tiki's Meeting Spot's happy hour prices and I can't do $17 cocktails all too often.
