We stumbled upon this spot and it was so lively for a Monday! They have live music a few times a week. We met the singer who has been performing for decades and is super friendly. Staff is also friendly and visibly hardworking. We only had some onion rings and a beer which were 10/10. read more

I found a tiki bar in Waikiki and was in the mood for a blue Hawaiian. Honestly, the experience didn't live up to the hype. For nearly $20 a drink, serving them in plastic cups felt underwhelming. The pricing is also not it- they add a 15% service fee automatically, and then ask for a tip on top of that during checkout. Spending $42 on two basic drinks felt like a poor value. The only saving grace was probably the live music, but it was too loud to even have a conversation. read more

We loved Cuckoo Coconuts! We popped in for a drink and were not disappointed. The mai tai was delicious, and the presentation in an actual pineapple made it much more special. There was a fun dad band playing yacht rock. The place is well-maintained and clean. We didn't order food, but all the tables around us were devouring bar bites that looked tasty. I would definitely recommend going out of your way to try this spot if you're in Waikiki. read more

I had an out-of-town visitor who really wanted a pina colada in a pineapple and I figured we'd visit Tiki's Meeting Spot near my house and get one. Come to find out Tiki's literally had closed a few days earlier so headed over to this similar establishment. Tiki's used to do happy hour specials so I was hoping Cuckoo Coconuts would be similar, but our server said sadly, no happy hour prices here. Full price cocktails it will be then! They are a bit on the higher side but I do feel like they give you your drink's worth--there's enough alcohol to feel like you're drinking a cocktail, not just a slushy. My chi-chi was tasty, although not as coconutty or creamy as I thought it might be. My friend enjoyed her $26 pina colada in a pineapple shell, and the presentation was great, with the top on the pineapple and a little paper umbrella. My husband got an Amaretto sour and it was good. Live musicians were tuning up while we were here and there's a decibel reader nearby, presumably because it may get loud here. Nice place to go if you want a tiki-style drink in a casual environment. I will say that I am going to miss Tiki's Meeting Spot's happy hour prices and I can't do $17 cocktails all too often. read more

Went to this spot on recommendation of a DL flight attendant. They have live music at 7p. Got here at 600p and was dead. By 7p pretty rocking. The band plays oldies and are are more than competitive! It's a dive bar in paradise! Down the block is Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany's... you get the neighborhood. Ordered the Real Pina Colada served in a real pineapple and were fantastic! Ok at $26 they should be and were. Started with calamari. A little rubbery but still ate them! Their horseradish cocktail sauce made them a lot better. Then ordered a Mai Tai. When in the islands! Y Not! It was not the most memorable I have had. Would pass I future. The Hawaiian fish and chips were plentiful but more importantly just plain Outstanding! The garlic shrimp also excellent. If you are looking for "fancy" this ain't it. But fun it is! read more

We decided to come to Cuckoo after a night of lazing on the beach and it was surprising one of the few bars that was open past 8:30pm. At first sight the bar looks super fun and inviting, almost looking like a themed tiki bar. There was no line surprisingly however and we were seated instantly but inside there were tons of people and a live performance taking place which made the atmosphere too loud to have a conversation. Once we were seated we decided to order a Pina colada and share as well as some onion rings. Unfortunately the onion rings fell flat and were overly battered, and the Pina colada while aesthetic and served in a whole pineapple, lacked flavor and was not that sweet. We ended up heading out pretty soon after the drink/bites were done as we could barely have a conversation and hear each other. We left quite unsatisfied after the experience and ended up ordering some uber eats to our hotel later, as most places near us were closed. read more

If you are crazing a fresh and hard hitting pina colda Cuckoo Coconuts Waikiki is a must for your next trip to Honolulu !!! They serve it in a full size pineapple fresh from the island so you get that irresistible fresh pineapple and refreshing coconut with dark and light rum. The food hit the spot as well with the spicy garlic shrimp having a lot of flavor and the jalapeño poppers were fried perfect and felt like a Super Bowl party exactly what I was craving. This place is all about the island vibes with a casual and fun environment with live music and a friendly service that got me what I needed quickly. Tourist here: I have no complaints... We had no wait time, service was incredible fast, and the food was fresh... it's a Fun vibe inside or I guess I should say outside as it's just a bunch of tents... we got the calamari, fish and chips, coconut shrimp which all was soo good... I might have to say the fish and chips was by far the best.. they used sea bass and had a light buttery flavored batter.. Such an Amazing Experience coming here, the food was Delicious also the drinks were Good! This is such a great place to go with friends little one enjoyed it! But not my daughter with Autism it was to loud and overstimulating for her. We came here with family so we didnt just want to leave, my daughter did eventually start liking it but just a heads up to anyone with noise sensitive kiddo it is loud. But other than that there live music and the band was playing good music ! Really enjoyed my experience here!!! And really good service they automatically added there tip which wasn't a big problem for us because we didnt have a big party lol read more

We had a burger and fish and chips. Reasonably priced with great service. It was a slow Monday night as we showed up not long before closing, but it was just what the doctor ordered as we had just gotten into town. I had a Pina Colada as well and it was pretty good. Pretty nice place. We went around 5pm and it was pretty empty. Food is good and drinks are tasty. It is not a fancy place at all though, chairs are plastic, cups for cocktails are plastic. However what I liked were sauces. Many big bottles so you don't have to ask for refills. read more

Great vibes overall! This is what I would imagine a tiki bar in Oahu. There's a live band that plays 1-2 hours before closing. It's pretty idealistically located 1-2 walking distance min away from the main tourist streets. There are many tables and it's great for groups and couples to wind down for the night but to keep a good buzz for the night. Great bar food and curated drinks to fit the tiki theme. Blue Hawaiian: On the light sweeter side. More of an alcoholic pineapple flavor. Mai Tai: Sweeter than the blue Hawaiian. Great fruity and safe drink to get if you want a sweeter alcohol. One of my favorite nights on the island, and that's saying a lot. Whenever you want to take a break from the phenomenal fancy bites on the island, this is the place to unwind for some great bar food and live band! The pina colada in a pineapple is a MUST! Get the real pina colada! It comes in a big pineapple for $26 and it's so worth it. The place also has live music and the service is amazing as the servers are fast and attentive. I loved coming here during my stay, it felt so relaxing and just vibed to the music while eating food. Stopped in for a quick drink and ended up staying longer than planned! The staff was super friendly and welcoming. We came on a weekday around 5 PM, and it was nice and quiet--perfect for relaxing. By 8 PM, the place was buzzing with energy while the band played (and yes, remember: no dancing allowed!). The drinks were absolutely delicious--tropical vibes in a glass. Great spot to chill early or enjoy the lively atmosphere later in the evening. Definitely worth a visit! read more

It's a local/dive bar, by my standards (that's a plus for me) Sunday evening we walked right in. Greeted warmly, and offered a table. I asked if we could move to a table since it was hot inside and they had tables with fans overhead. Thank goodness!! Local beer on draft $7.50. Live music. Cool band playing 70's and 80's tunes. We did not eat. It's bar menu items. They have a strict NO Dancing allowed at all... I asked our waiter why the NO dancing. I visited a couple tiki bars in Honolulu, but this was by far the best. This place grabs you with music as you're walking by. Their menu is big just like their dishes and drinks. They had great mai tais, but must get their pina colada which is served in a pineapple. The servers keep the food and drinks coming and the band is very entertaining. Drinks were not the cheapest but were poured well and strong enough to make it worth the premium pricing. Live music was great. Bartenders were friendly and accommodating. This was the worst "MaiTai" we encountered during a week visit to Waikiki. It was so bad that we only had a few sips before abandoning it despite paying $16 for a drink served in a plastic cup. It was not only NOT a MaiTai, it tasted like sewage. Additionally the bar offers live music which makes conversation impossible but also has a ban on dancing. The server took forever to get back to us and didn't ask how everything was because I'm sure she knew it was awful. The only good thing about the experience was the slice of fresh pineapple garnish. Take a picture with the large Tiki out front and then keep walking until you get to the Hideout at LayLow where you can get a proper cocktail. read more

Cool little tiki bar. Cute vibe and really tasty drinks. I ordered something called the "Hawaiian Tango". Coconut rum, gin, and mango juice. The drinks are a bit spendy. Mine was $17. My wife ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl and it's super tasty. Both our drinks and the food was served very promptly. Looks like they have some live music tonight, but it's interesting that there is no dancing allowed here. I think it's an insurance thing. Anyway, a good experience. I would come back. read more

We hear live music emanating from this establishment the night before, so we decided to give it a go. Live music is from 7:00-10:00pm, and it is LOUD. If anyone in your party is sensitive to loud noises then they shouldn't come during this timeframe. The menu is very limited, so you may want to review what they offer to see if it's right for you. Below are the items we had: Chicken wings *** Teriyaki chicken bowl *** Salad with teriyaki chicken *** (they give a lot of chicken but the bell peppers are just chopped and not de-seeded) Coconut shrimp (not pictured) **** Hot dog (not pictured) **** Our server was nondescript--so I will say service was average. We stumbled upon this place on our first night in Oahu; tired from our travel day and ready to initiate vacation mode, we heard the music , saw their drinks and decided to take a chance. While there are many options for live music, we found ourselves back for more (at least 3 times during our visit) because we enjoyed how laid back the vibe was and how you can just chill at a table with your drink or join a lively party in the back. The bands were fun , the service was quick , we were seated very quickly, even on busy nights and we enjoyed their cocktail selection. In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

The problem is the food preparation totally undermines the whole place. Without a separate kitchen you have frying being done just a few feet away from where cocktails are made. If you sit on the right side of the bar you will quickly understand why this doesn't work. I would come here more frequently if i didn't have to smell like cooking oil afterwards. Also tried the Char Siu Tofu Bao, fried tofu in a red Chinese-style char siu sauce on fluffy white buns. Again, fun and certainly not bad, but these would be 1000x better with actual pork. If Wild Orange had this exact same creative food menu but carnivore edition, this place would probably be 7/5 stars for me. That being said, I know being vegan will actually be a huge draw for some people, and I appreciate that the food is creative rather than just the usual sad vegan afterthoughts. Parking is pretty easy by Honolulu standards. It's inside Hawaiian Brian's, so there's a large shared parking lot. That being said, you might still have trouble finding a spot during peak gym hours since you're competing with all the 24 Hour Fitness customers. All in all, I LOVE this place. Definitely a fun stop--first, middle, only, or nightcap--on a chill night out. Will absolutely be adding Wild Orange into the rotation of places to bring out-of-town guests when I want to impress them with something cool and different. The vegan menu probably means it'll be a couple-times-a-year place for me rather than a regular haunt. But for drinks, service, atmosphere, and pure VIBES? 20/10.

Melissa best waiter at this place. We were blessed with her presence. She really welcomed us with an open arm and suggested a whole bunch of stuff. Pizza, burger, fries, some drinks: Mai Thai! She really made us full ultra special. She definitely deserves a double raise. She's one of the most motivated person I've met at this place. We checked in early and were told to come back later since we had arrived ahead of our reservation time. Fair enough. But when we returned, we had to wait another 15+ minutes before being seated. Then came another long wait for our waitress to come around and take our orders. To make matters worse, our table had an obstructed view of the hula show, despite my specifically requesting a good table so I could entertain my loved ones visiting from the mainland. I guess this is what happens when a 20% service charge is automatically locked in for a party of six. I have no problem tipping appropriately for good service, but I certainly don't believe poor service deserves the same treatment. This experience left a really bad taste in my mouth. I've always had good experiences dining here, but unfortunately, not this time. What the heck happened--personnel, management, or just an off night? No plans to return anytime soon, although I have to admit, that incredible pizza might just be enough to tempt me back! management change??what happened to this place that I used to love? Management/personnel change?

I highly recommend making a reservation as this place is very popular and is not very big inside. When you arrive, they have one side to check-in for reservations and one side to check-in for walkups. As I mentioned above, the inside is rather small and a bit cramped. However, the service is very friendly! I had the deluxe pork loin set which includes rice, salad, soup, and curry sauce. The meat was extremely tender, but the coating was a touch oiler than I am used to. The curry sauce was really tasty and was a nice addition to the katsu! I also love that they had fountain soft drinks with complimentary refills. This was a very tasting tonkatsu dining experience in Honolulu!

We ordered the tofu for appetizer and the every time we poured the soy sauce, little flies came out. We opened the bottle and there were so many dead flies. We told the server and he said he would bring a new one. The new bottle they brought also had flies. So we told the server and he said he would bring another and he never did. By that time, we didn't want the tofu anymore. We lost our appetite and no one apologized. We were so disappointed with the service.

I really appreciated the fact that he was so attentive since I was dining alone. The restaurant was busy but it wasn't too loud and it was the perfect setting to get a little work done and enjoy a meal. I got the mai tai, it's discounted on the happy hour and it's literally the best one on the island. They've been my go to for years and it's amazing every time. The fries are also a must! The aioli they give with it is also really good. I tried a pizza and I like it, it was fresh, I like that they have specials that change from time to time. Overall a 10/10 visit.. as always!

It sounded really good from the description, but it had this kind of stale like taste? There was not really a punch of flavor or something that made me want to continue eating it. The jalapeno pizza was great, though. An amazing dish and I found myself going back to it often. The place is quite nice and also spacious, and the food came out fast.

Oh my god, just came back from a visit to Oahu, Hawaii. I visited this bar and grill there is also kiosks with retail items, shave ice booths and a lot more. Its like the former International Market Place, which unfortunately closed recently I understand this bar and owners had a Bar and Grill at the international marketplace that was also fabulous. It was called Tiki Town. This new bar Cuckoo Coconut's is even more elaborate. The service is great the drinks are elaborate , Delicious with a large variety of unique mixed drinks. Tucked slightly off the main street, Coconuts Bar is a hidden gem. It's a charming tiki bar with delightful decor and live music. It's not easy to find a reasonably priced tiki bar in Waikiki, but this place delivers. Their food and drinks are all priced below $20. I particularly enjoyed their fish and chips, and their take on the Long Island drink packs a flavorful punch. The waitress even warned me about its strength! Overall, it's a great spot to relax, enjoy a drink, and grab a bite without breaking the bank. Definitely worth checking out! read more

I had an amazing experience at Cuckoo Coconuts! The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality you get. The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every bite was a delight. And the smoothies--wow! They're refreshing, perfectly blended, and packed with tropical flavors that transport you straight to paradise. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the service is top-notch, making the whole experience so much better. When you're looking for a tasty meal, Cuckoo Coconuts is the place to be. I don't know who you are responding to this! I didn't say the bartender but the bald guy! Nobody was dancing I stood up with my 4 yo. So save your bs please! Your service sucks as a hole in the wall! Instead of arguing back, apologize to your patrons who come and spend money. You seem offended as you know how miserable and dirty it's people and employees are as this guy is up their asses. Fixed your management and be more open to patrons and your employees. read more

Should be 1 star but 2 stars because the guy who was doing the entertainment was solo and putting on a pretty good show. But a bit over priced for the small amount given. I ordered the garlic shrimp plate and while the menu does state "6-8 shrimp", for the price, I thought they'd be a little more generous. Wonder what it takes to get the actual 8, but doesn't matter because even if they did give 8, the taste wasn't as good as other places I've tried. read more

I love this place! The atmosphere was great, the food was AMAZING, but most especially the awesome customer service. I ordered their Poke, garlic shrimp, pina colada (served in the pineapple), rum (served in the coconut) & it was all so amazing. I crave for that poke I had now that I'm back in mainland. I will have to go back for some more when I go back to HI for a visit. read more
