Surprisingly pretty good! We came with some hesitation because it was pretty pricey for breakfast ($40/person), but it was a pretty fun experience. We stayed at the hotel and we did get a coupon that helped with the price as well. The breakfast buffet is a pretty good selection with a variety of Asian American dishes - which I felt supported the price better. $40 for mainly American dishes would have been super disappointing. Our server was the best part of the meal! She was super accommodating friendly, and made sure we felt at home. I was a little saddened we didn't get a great view of the beach, but it was probably for the best as there were birds everywhere trying to grab a bite of food. Standouts: Hawaiian Bread French Toast with Lilikoi Butter - so sweet and delicious! I didn't put any syrup on because it was already sweet. The lilikoi butter was my favorite part! Chicken & Lemongrass Potsickers - perfect! I wish I had more of them. I loved the savoury soft chicken with the lemongrass flavors. The sauce on the side comes perfectly with it as well. SHOR has an amazing view of the Waikiki Beach. And it only gets better from there. My kids have found their breakfast heaven here. They know exactly where to find the miso soup and rice station every morning. Can't say that's a common find with any other Hyatt Regency property domestically. SHOR offers a solid mix of Western and Asian options. The kimchi fried rice won't win any culinary awards, but the flavor is good enough for me to consider a second serving. What really sets this place apart from other Hyatt breakfast buffets are the Asian offerings. I just have to try the gyoza and agedashi tofu when I'm here. I'm also obsessed with the fruit selection and fresh juices. Nothing says "I'm in Hawaii" quite like starting my day with guava or pineapple juice, or both! The omelette station is solid. The lines can be longer on the weekends but never a drag. The staff makes all the difference. They're genuinely friendly and warm. Since we're hotel guests, they welcome us each morning and actually get to know us. That personal touch matters. We usually go to the Regency Club for the breakfast buffet, now being Lifetime Globalist we also get two complimentary breakfast buffets at Shor. The buffet has several stations with lots of choices. The ambiance is very pleasant. We sat outside looking out over Wakiki Beach, and the service was pleasant and prompt. Bobby kept our coffee cups full and our table to clean for the pigeons to bother us. :) We then went to the Regency Club to say hello to the staff and get a fresh cup of cappuccino. The food was tasty, but I was disappointed that the one dish I was looking for wasn't there. The menu online said they have french toast on the buffet line up. I didn't see any so I asked one of the wait staff. He kindly went to check if they were going to make any. He then came back and said "maybe tomorrow " . Maybe the menu should say that there may be substitutions. The menu had pancakes or french toast, but what they really had was pancakes or waffles. Not a big deal, but just left me craving french toast. Everything tasted good though. The host was super hospitable. I didn't get his name, but he always had a smile. He offered at the end of our meal to call the valet to have our car waiting for us. Our server, Rita, was very attentive. Everyone working there looked genuinely happy. We came the day before Valentines. Make sure you make reservations. Although we dressed up, it's pretty casual. We were seated Oceanside. The service was great as well as the food. I had the kampachi $38 and it was devine. It was the perfect balance, even though the portion seems small. I didn't leave feeling stuffed, nor did I leave feeling hungry. Plus I had a glass of wine while the Mr. had a hamburger $26 which he said was delicious. The truffle fries were tasty as well. Parking was validated, which granted us an extra three hours to look around. There was an open market going on so the validated hours was nice. We spent three days at this hotel and we went down there for breakfast. I thought the price was a little pricey but they had such a wide variety of food and it was well organized, and the one that made our day was the waitress person and her name was Cindy. It was a little tricky finding our way up to Shor but once we got there, service was wonderful! Our waiter was amazing, he gave us recommendations because it was our first time. He checked in with us throughout our dinner to make sure everything was going well, despite dinner time being busy. We had pasta al pesto and garlic shrimp flatbread, which were both delicious! And for drinks, we enjoyed mai tai and pina colada. I loved the outdoor seating arrangements and layout. The space felt very spacious and airy. This review is for the breakfast buffet. The food is a 3-star but the awesome staff kicks it up to 4-stars! We did a lot of take out and Dalton at the bar was the nicest and most helpful guy. Teresa and all the other staff were amazing as well. Everyone made us feel so well cared for and valued. For buffet style food it's probably as good as it gets. It's prepared in large quantities and sits in a warming pan so it will definitely not hold a candle to a cooked to order breakfast (except for the made to order omelets). But for what it is I thought the eggs benedicts were decent with always a nicely poached egg with a lot of runny yolk when burst. The hash browns were pretty ok too. The fruit was very good as with most fruit in Hawaii. The pineapple was always sweet and fresh. For the price it is a bit steep for what you get I must admit. Late review: Came here for Christmas and OMGGGGGGGGG AMAZING! You had to make a reservation as it was a "Special Event Buffet" and a little pricey, but SOOO WORTH EVERY PENNY! He immediately gave us water, and told us the rules for the day, we had 90 minutes to eat as much as we want and can have anything we want...and if we needed anything else that is what he was there for. As soon as I got up to go get food (I was very hungry)....I came back to a pitcher of water..apparently my Dad told him I drink A LOT of water...I thought that was the best thing that any waiter has ever done for me..as I am constantly having to ask for more water...not only did he bring me my own pitcher, anytime he walked by he topped off my glass! He was so attentive, funny and just a nice guy! He made sure we had clean napkins, utensils, cleared our dishes and made sure everything was perfect, and it was!!! Breakfast Buffet: For the nearly $40 that it costs, the selection is very limited. The morning I went there was only sausage no bacon. The sausage was ok, a bit too greasy for me. The eggs benedict could have been good but the salmon was waaay too fishy. The scrambled eggs obviously powder and still very wet. The french toast looks good but is stale and not fresh. The best part was the hash browns. They were crispy and great. They had oatmeal options, yogurts, tons of fresh fruits and pastries. We walked by another morning I could smell the bacon, so i think they alternate the meats. Dinner: Dinner was a bit lackluster. The food took forever to come out. It was just ok. Place was fairly empty when we arrived at 6:30, which had us a bit worried. It did slowly fill up by the time we left. Overall the food was very good, service was decent and we had a good time. My reason for the three star rating is based on value for what you get here. The steak frites is ~$50 for a 10oz strip with fries, this is more of a $35 meal. Hands down, the worst service I have ever received at any restaurant in Oahu. The waiter never checked on our table, never gave us any refills of water. He didn't even apologize for the slow service. It took an hour, just to order our entrees. We even had to ask for our check, because we never saw the waiter after he delivered our entrees. First visit to Shor restaurant in the Hyatt Regency hotel on Waikiki beach, which overall was an excellent experience. We chose the restaurant specifically for the location and the view for the Waikiki sunset.  The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of the Hyatt, and using Open Table, we requested a balcony table which was honored through out reservation. We expected the great views, but also received excellent service and food.  The front desk was efficient and friendly, and were shown to our balcony table right on time.  Table service followed by a super friendly server, who watched over us the entire meal.  We found all of our appetizers and entrees very good, served timely and hot as appropriate.  As expected for Waikiki the pricing is high, but at least service and food were well done throughout the meal. We would consider returning again, but only for a special occasion. Hints for your visit: Balcony table provides great views, but can be windy or hot at times.  Be aware of the "sticker shock" when all done with the meal. read more

We're stayung at the Hyatt Regency and this is the main dining here. It is set up beautifully inaide and out. Most seats/tables point towards the ocean views. It was lovely and the food was great. Service was just good. Seemed like our server was too busy but it wasn't that packed so not sure why he was "meh". Regardless. We tipped him well and hope his night was good. Food. This breakfast buffet is located on the 3rd floor of the Hyatt. It also turns into a lunch/dinner buffet with a quick switch of a sign lol. I was not impressed with the breakfast selections, the hot foods weren't even hot. just barely to temp and warm. They had pretty basic selections. Just the usual bacon, different sausages on different days. Their attempt at eggs Benedict, with stale English muffin and a hard boiled egg lol. I know that's hard to get right especially in a buffet line. Other things were like breads, bagels, meats, cereal ect. The only good thing about this buffet is the omelette station. Fresh made to order omelette with your choice of fillings. The chef does an amazing job at keeping his station clean, memorizing orders, interchanging the pans. He had like 6 omelettes going at once. Yes it's just eggs, but he has perfected his technique and it's so fun to watch him. For the hefty price of $35 per person, It is not worth It though. I was expecting to see some creative breakfast dishes here but everything was just so underwhelming. Honestly you would have a better breakfast at 7-11 lol. Half of the seating is also outside, which is not the best when it comes to birds. You're suppose to use one of the covers for your plate when you're done with It do the birds don't get to It. But obviously not everyone follows rules and the tables don't eat turned around quickly so sometimes you'll see some birds on top of the tables which is honestly kinda unsanitary lol. Not sure what you're paying for with that $35 price tag. You don't get much of a view even when you're sitting along the edge because there is a barrier. So unless you're standing you won't we the beautiful beach across the street. Thankfully we didn't pay for the breakfast buffet, we stopped in on different days to see if the menu changes. It does but not by much. I'm glad It was free because I would've been so disappointed if we had paid over $60 for that. read more

She said the buffet they can make it to go but again $40!!!! For coffee!!!! No thank you! So instead they send me downstairs to get coffee in the mall. However, this is a great spot for a cozy dinner with some tiki torches outside and a nice view of Waikiki Beach. Wow. Five stars from top to bottom at SHOR. 3 of us enjoyed a beautiful fresh, outdoor dinner at SHOR overlooking the sunset last night for their prefix dinner menu. Ambiance was beautiful! Nice and quiet, unobstructed ocean and sunset views, as you are right across the street from the water. My daughter had the kids cheeseburger, which she scarfed down happily within a minute flat. Now for the adult prefix menu-- which she excitedly helped consume as well. Before we started our feast, we had the choice of a complimentary beer, red or white wine. We both went with white wine. First course-- shoyu ahi poke with taro chips. The fish was a huge portion and tasted so fresh. The chips were perfection. If you haven't eaten taro chips-- you're missing out. Second course-- Massive slab of prime rib with horseradish and au jus and a large side of thick mashed potatoes. The meat was so juicy and tender and the potatoes melt in your mouth. Huge servings for an insane deal! Third course-- dessert. We aren't huge tiramisu fans, so we opted for the Il Gelato ice cream/ sorbet. We love Il Gelato and frequent their location in kahala mall. This is a second time I have been here, the first for the buffet and yesterday for dinner. I really like the quality of the food at the Hyatt, back to when there was a nice steakhouse back in the 90s or 2000s that I enjoyed. Gone is the buffet and the fresh, small pans of endless food. It has been replaced by an a la carte menu that is just as good. I ordered the chicken tortellini on the advice of a coworker. It was fresh and the sauce wasn't overpowering. Just enough creme sauce to add flavor. The chicken was tender and tasty. My friend ordered a Kahuku shrimp flatbread which he thoroughly enjoyed. I will definitely be back. For all the locals, there's a kama'aina discount but come early as, I found out...no valet parking. read more
