Harbor Freight's promised No Hassle Return Policy from their website.

Harbor Freight? More like Harbor Fraud. I ordered an item online because it was not in stock at this location, where I shop. The item had arrived broken in the box. The representative said to return it to the local store and I would be refunded the full purchase price, taxes, and shipping. I returned the item with the shipping label and invoice on the original box. The clerk first asked me what was wrong with the item and I showed him the broken part. Two sales clerks stood together whispering to each other about how to handle my return. There was quite a discussion about it. There was some discussion about manually entering the amount. It concerned me that they would have to manually enter the amount with everything I had given them, including the order number when they had asked for it. I heard part of what they said and there was some question about the shipping expense, but because they were whispering, I only heard a little. I asked if there was any problem and I was advised at that time that there wasn't, and that I would receive my full refund. I then specifically asked about the shipping cost. Only then was I told I would not be refunded the shipping. I told them what the service representative had told me. They repeated that they could not refund shipping. At my request they called for the manager. He came up and gruffly said that there was no way for him to give a refund for shipping because there was no way to key that into the register. He dramatically gestured pushing invisible keys in space over the keyboard. I called the customer service number and their solution was to refund the shipping to me from their end. The cash register clerk then processed my refund without the shipping, but when I looked at the combined total amount I was being refunded, it didn't add up. I was still being shorted.. I spoke to the manager, but it was his position that he had over-refunded me. It was an outrageous thing to say. Now, as an aside, later, when the young woman was helping me further, I heard him repeat the exact same statement when a different cashier came up to him about a discrepancy in the amount of a refund someone else wanted. It was so comical to hear him say the same thing concerning someone else's refund discrepancy, I almost laughed. I realized his attitude towards refunds; be gruff, act annoyed, be domineering, and then tell the customer they've been OVER-refunded. But to get back to when I was talking to him, I told him the numbers didn't add up. I did not receive my full refund, even if they were applying a 20% restocking fee. He said that I had a problem with "Harbor Freight" and he gestured up into space, "not THIS HARBOR FREIGHT STORE" and he gestured down with his hands in the shape of a box around himself. I explained that I did not see that this Harbor Freight store was different than the Harbor Freight that had taken my money for the purchase. He asked how much I had paid and I told him and showed him the email showing my order. He became angry and said that I had not shown the receipt before. I explained I had given everything that was asked for including the order number. The store manager gave a dramatic huff and sigh and passed me off to the female clerk and said to give those things to her, and in particular the receipt. I was holding the refund receipt in my hand at that time and I said that this was the refund receipt, not the original sales receipt because I had ordered it online. He said in a condescending tone that he "had stated clearly and confidently" what I was to take to the sales clerk and then he turned his back on me and began to stomp off. I had had it at that point. As he walked away I said that I agreed he had stated it "clearly and confidently," but his "confidence" did not mean that he was correct. That brought him back quickly. He said that I had been "explosive" since the moment I came in the store. His tone was angry, and customers were turning to look at him. I told him that he had not been there when I came in the store and stood in line to get my refund, before they called him over at my request, or from my interaction with the clerks. I told him I was not "explosive," and because he wasn't there when I came into the store, he was not able to make a comment as to my demeanor at that time. He stomped off again. The young woman cashier looked over everything and manually did her calculations on a piece of paper. Now, magically, other buttons could be pushed on the cash register and I could receive the money they had shorted me. The refund for shipping has still not shown up on my credit card. I've attached a screen capture of the Harbor Freight "No Hassle Return Policy." I guess it's no hassle if you don't want ALL your money back for a product delivered broken in the box, and you don't want your shipping fee back as you had been promised you would receive.

This is a great place to go to if you don't want to go to Home Depot, at Home Depot doesn't have what you need, they do a great job of having items that Other places don't. Automotive hardware

Went in there with a couple hundred in gift cards. Found a saw with a $104.99 price tag. Couldnt find it. Employee kept showing me a box that was obviously not the one tagged on display. Finally he agreed and said it is tagged wrong. Had the manager come over, after digging around he found the correct price tag and said we double tag with non display units. No where on the tag does it state "Not displayed unit". Manager told me, that's the way it is. Really ? That's the way it is ? You know, it's bad enough your pricing is misleading to a customer, but the attitude, I can see why this store is never packed like the one in Orange. There was another guy buying tools that walked out also, have no idea how much he was planning on spending, but, now you lost two sales over attitude, good luck in the next year

Poor service, rude manager. They lost a customer for life today. Called corporate to complain and they were just as rude. The picture online was completely different from what was in the store, completely different and they both argued that it was "camera angle". I thought that explanation coming from two different sources meant it's corporate policy to use that to just blow people off.

When I walked in, two employees were standing at the registers talking with each other. Neither acknowledged me, paused their conversation, or even looked up as I entered. I brushed it off at first, assuming they were simply caught up in what they were discussing. I couldn't find the door handle I needed, so I approached one of the employees at the register. He said he would call someone to meet me in the aisle. I returned to the aisle and an older employee walked right past me, made eye contact, and said nothing. When he came back, he looked at me and said only, "Yeah?" in a dismissive tone. I showed him the handle and asked whether it was available or could be ordered. He replied, "It's a special handle, we don't have it," and immediately walked away. The lack of basic courtesy, acknowledgment, or willingness to help was surprising and disheartening. I left feeling unwelcome and judged. I don't like assuming the worst, but the way I was treated -- while wearing a bright pink polo and presenting as an openly gay man -- felt pointed. Whether intentional or not, it was hurtful. Customers deserve respect, professionalism, and at minimum, simple acknowledgment. This experience fell far short of that. Shame on them for allowing this kind of treatment.

For my limited requirements (general house handyman stuff) this fits perfectly. Unlike the big box stores, there is always someone available. When needed they will find the right person (expert) to give me the information I need. Unlike the big box stores the person actually knows what they are talking about. The people who work here are extremely knowledgeable. Thanks to them: 1. My drains remain clear (even in my daughters shower) 2. I have the right lightbulbs in each room (I got a 30 minute detailed lecture) 3. Anything hanging on my walls can handle the weight correctly. 4. My paint matches when I touch up. 5. My tool bag has the right tools in it. 6. I have the right tool bag. 7. My showers are free of lime, hardwater and rust 8. My car leather looks awesome. I could go on but you get the point. The selection is clearly smaller than some other stores. But I go here to get 'help' and not just to buy things. For someone like me this place is perfect.

Expect to wait about ten minutes for someone to hopefully show up and cut keys, then give up and track someone down yourself. There are old workers milling around the store doing inventory and chatting, but none of them have time to help cut some keys? Look, I get it, cutting keys by hand is tedious, time consuming, and probably annoying. But telling a customer that "it's a lot of work, I can do it later" is not a good way to run a business and retain a customer. I'm happy to drive a little further to find someplace that's more willing to help.

I had a feeling it wasn't going to bode well as this is one of those boutique type of shops at this plaza. It might as well be the Erewhon or Gelson's of home & gardens shops, unlike Home Depot. You know what I mean? Typically this would sell for about $4-7 but it's $9.99! But it's so pretty and it has many pups for me to distribute & repot. Toby at the cashier stand helped me out. He was knowledgeable & amiable. Additionally, he offered valuable info about the lady bugs & praying mantis that are sold to help our ecosystem. I didn't do much browsing, just purchased my succulent and went my merry way. It was a great experience but the prices here are definitely more for upscale shopping.

We spent a few weeks shopping around big box retailers and custom door store recommendations online and I couldn't believe how difficult it was to get straightforward answers (estimated time lines, door material options, and final cost). He was knowledgeable, provided good recommendations, and quick to respond to any questions I had. When a minor hiccup occurred (on the manufacture side) Kai was quick to take action and make things right. We were initially surprised when told it would take over 3 months (!) until it would arrive, with an estimated date of August 2. We were later advised "Oh, that's not a promise date, just an estimate," and it is now expected August 4. As of today, we are advised that the door will be in on August 24. Naturally, their credibility is now very low to zero from my perspective, and nobody is willing to take accountability and offer any kind of compensation for this Meshuggas. (Also, our project is on hold, as this cannot be completed without the new front door). In summary, if you are interested in a door - whether a plain door or a very ornate door - which will come......eh.....sometime, maybe in a few weeks, maybe a few months, a few years...if ever - and you like purchasing from a business which as of late displays a lack of accountability, inconsistency, and generally poor business practices, Ganahl may be of interest to you. However, if you prefer a business which makes decisions based on good customer service, respect, accountability, I recommend to give your business to one of their competitors in your area. I notice there are some strong reviews posted from years past, but per my very recent experience, it seems likely they are heading in a downward direction.
