I was out in the area with a friend and was on a job. I asked him we're there was a home depot in the area and all he could do was laugh. I have unfortunately become so used to trying to find all my items at large stores and with the lost of so many mom pop sops going away so fast I was at a lost when he told me of this place. Thank you Lord that small places like this still exist. I know for a fact that at a large store it would take a lot of time to find the few things I needed but here I walk in and bam everything I need at a arms links thank you so much and I hope you guys get to keep up the great work and never fall to the overpriced super stores that are trying to take you out. I felt like a kid that had gone in to every garage of all my friends growing up. Rows and rows of nothing but nut bolts and anything else you could look for. Keep up the work to keep the small hard to find mom and pop shop items on the market. Thanks guys.

I've got a Gal. The common expression is "I've got a Guy" when someone needs a connection or help with a job. Well, if you are in need of great advice and a place where you will find what you need for your household chores (for fix it) items than Dana Point Hardware is your go to place and the ladies who work there (I have only been there a few times at this writing and have been helped by women) are your "Gals". I recently moved in the area and had Best Buy deliver a gas dryer to my new place and install it. The installer says he can't hook up the dryer as the connection gas line is larger (5/8") than the gas line hookup from the wall. He says I have to remove the current connection and install a 5/8" hookup or get an adapter to fit the gas line. I ask a friend of min about this and he says let's go to Dana Point Hardware and see what they say...he has been going there since the 70's. So we walk in and he says hello to lady behind the counter who he has seen grow up in the store working for her dad and now is the owner. I explain the problem that I have this 5/8" gas connection hose and need somehow to connect it to my dryer. First thing she says is home as dryers are 3/8". Gets me the correct size yellow gas hose connection and tells me to go connect it and return the 5/8th one to Best Buy with the added "they must think you are connecting a commercial gas range". Worked like a charm!! The next day I go in to replace some screws that were lost in the move that attach an arm to a chair. I roughly measure the opening and go down to Dana Point hardware. Another women this time helps me and gives me both in metric and standard in fine and regular thread and tells me to bring back the ones that did not work. Again such great help and yes one of the selections of course worked. Well, if you need expert advice in hardware, fixing an issue at your home, or finding that hard to find item the "I've got a Gal for you" the ladies at Dana Point Hardware.

For my limited requirements (general house handyman stuff) this fits perfectly. Unlike the big box stores, there is always someone available. When needed they will find the right person (expert) to give me the information I need. Unlike the big box stores the person actually knows what they are talking about. The people who work here are extremely knowledgeable. Thanks to them: 1. My drains remain clear (even in my daughters shower) 2. I have the right lightbulbs in each room (I got a 30 minute detailed lecture) 3. Anything hanging on my walls can handle the weight correctly. 4. My paint matches when I touch up. 5. My tool bag has the right tools in it. 6. I have the right tool bag. 7. My showers are free of lime, hardwater and rust 8. My car leather looks awesome. I could go on but you get the point. The selection is clearly smaller than some other stores. But I go here to get 'help' and not just to buy things. For someone like me this place is perfect.

Expect to wait about ten minutes for someone to hopefully show up and cut keys, then give up and track someone down yourself. There are old workers milling around the store doing inventory and chatting, but none of them have time to help cut some keys? Look, I get it, cutting keys by hand is tedious, time consuming, and probably annoying. But telling a customer that "it's a lot of work, I can do it later" is not a good way to run a business and retain a customer. I'm happy to drive a little further to find someplace that's more willing to help.

He was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely interested in finding exactly what we needed. He immediately stood out as one of the best sales professionals we have ever worked with. Our experience with him was so positive that when we later decided to replace two exterior doors in our home, we specifically went back to Home Depot to work with Andy and ultimately purchased both doors through him. Even though our contractors had offered to get the exterior doors for us through their manufacturer connections and handle the installation at a better price. We still chose Home Depot because of Andy. There may always be another option or a better deal somewhere, but trust, reliability, and exceptional service are much harder to find. Andy genuinely listens to his customers. He is caring, approachable, knowledgeable, and never pushy. He understands what you need, gives thoughtful and trustworthy advice, and consistently follows through. He truly under-promises and over-delivers. That kind of trust creates loyal customers. His follow-up was exceptional as well. Even when we couldn't make a couple of the appointments, he remained patient, continued following up, and kept providing us with additional options. He never gave up on helping us, and his persistence always felt genuine rather than sales-driven. We have literally raved about Andy to our friends and family. He deserves to be recognized and hopefully compensated accordingly for the exceptional service, integrity, and dedication he brings to his job.

I was told to go check out the plumbing aisle since that's where all the glue is. So I went over to the plumbing aisle and checked just in case. Of course the item wasn't there. I also tried to flag down an associate but he couldn't scurry away fast enough. I literally ran after him shouting EXCUSE ME!! CAN YOU HELP ME FIND A PRODUCT??? The aisles are also very cluttered and brimming with end cap aisle products. Also don't bother attempting to purchase any terra cotta potters. I had to return all of them due to every items having scratches and gashes. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to even sell it in the condition it was in when I placed an order as an online pickup. All in all, much better to drive the extra distance to visit Lowes in San Clemente. The employees are happy to assist and the store is much cleaner and easier to navigate.
