I called then asking about how their rain checks worked, only to be told that they don't do that. I know other branches do. 8pm rolls around and they closed. Awesome experience!!! Vicki helped me get my generator :) although my power came on right when I got home with the new generator, I will 100% come back to this store because Vicki was so great. She helped my access my HF credit card info because I didn't have it on me, and once we tried to process the payment it didn't work. I had a few things to figure out with the credit card and she was very understanding. I'll go to this location over the HF by my own home in Bellevue just because of the service I get here. THATS WHAT MATTERS. how we ( the patrons ) are treated. I love harbor freight stores and tools but this particular location in Edmonds on HWY 99 has some of the worst employees specifically, their manager Dave or David (older tall Caucasian man). I have no idea how he can be a manager when has 0 customer service skills or close to non communication skills. I went in for a return, initially the guy that was helping with the return was really nice and cordial, everything was going smooth till he asked for manager approval on the return. Manager comes over to the register and proceeded doing what he needed then says he could only refund $144 and some change back to my Visa card but the rest goes on a gift card. (My total refund was $220+). I asked what gift card and stated to him that I do not want store credit multiple times very clearly yet he just ignored what I'm saying to him and swiped the gift card through the terminal on my end very aggressively without any explanation I asked him very politely to explain what he was doing because I clearly said I just want the refund back on my Visa card. He gave no explanation at all till the very end I was in the store standing at the register for over 20 min waiting for this man to do a simple return. After he finally did what I asked him to do then he finally explained he needs to cash out the gift card in order to give me back my refund which is absolutely ridiculous in the first place but I would've been totally okay with the whole situation if he had just explained to me what he needed to do instead of being very disrespectful, rude and a bit aggressive to be frank. read more

Needed to purchase a magnetic knife rack .. went to store. sign on door says not entry without mask. GOOD I say.. found most of the customers had them on some did not. but one man had not over nose. Man at counter took his off while paying. 3 people had no masks at all. I aske cashier why this is happening he had no answer. Should be told to wear mask. Will not go back there. Also as a side note. the magnetic knife holder had NO magnetic strength. Would not hold anything. after PUT HOLES IN MY WALL FOR THIS. Endangered my life for a worthless product. read more

Great store for what it is. I've bought a compound miter saw for a couple of projects and it's been a champ. Still have and use it 6 years later. I bought some screwdriver bits and they didn't make it through the day. Hand truck was super, but other stuff not so much. I've saved a lot on power stuff but went in with the idea of buy rather than rent, if it lasts great if not I'm still ahead. I needed some inexpensive tools to do several tasks. Right tools made the jobs a lot easier. To me one Harbor Freight store is the same as another but this one had a cashier that was so friendly and helpful, I felt I should write a review. Unfortunately, I have a senior moment and forget his name but he apparently works most of the day as I saw him at night and when I went back in the morning for more tools, he was already there. They really do have quality tools but much cheaper than HD or Lowes. read more

This place is a joke hands down! I was in need of spackle to fill some small holes in the wall. I stopped here because it was close by and it's a tool store. This store literally had a small collection and everything looked pretty old. Almost like discount tools. I asked an employee if they had spackle and he said nope. I said are you joking and he said nope. He came off pretty condescending and rude and I thought he was joking. He said Lowe's or Home Depot both of which there are none near me. Sigh. This was really disappointing because now I have to find another store real fast. If you need anything other than a saw or screwdriver this place likely doesn't have it. Beware of the "COMPARES TO" tags on their products! Do your homework! I almost bought a P3 International brand Kill-A-Watt Electricity Usage Monitor from them recently at this Edmonds store. It had a price tag of $24 stating "COMPARE TO P3 International P4460". Luckily I resisted the urge and went home and did a little resesarch. Upon returning to the store, I couldn't find the part number, but a close inspection found the numerals "4400" embedded in a long number on the back of the package. Indeed, this was the P3 International Model P4400, which is the stripped down model. It is currently being sold at H*me Dep*t or Amaz*n for only $17 while the full-featured model 4460 costs $28. So Harbor Freight was selling the stripped down Model P4400 for $24 which is 30% above standard pricing while misleading the customer into thinking they were getting a deal on the full-featured model 4460. By the way, the full-featured model (P4460) has a memory function with reset button. This allows time-averaging which is essential to the function of the product to automatically establish electricity consumption over time. He gave us a no-hassle exchange on a defective tool, even though we hadn't kept the receipt, waived the restock fee, and even tested out the new tool at the store before we left to make sure it worked. Overall pretty good experiences here with the staff and products. Docked one star because there's a bald guy working the register sometimes that always tries to take away or render my coupons useless by marking the barcode with a pen after I've used them even though the coupons are still valid for the next couple weeks. I would excuse this minor issue if he was super friendly but he really isn't. Other than that, the rest of the staff are good so far and the products are very good value (for the most part). read more

After my 1.5 ton automotive jack took a dump after about a year and a half of service, i called to speak to the manager of this location. His name was Archie and he was very understanding and switched out my jack with no hesitation even after not buying the extended service plan. FOLLOW UP TO LAST VISIT This place is incredible with their big sales & special discounts on holidays (Labor Day today). All check out stands open & busy. The store manager was buzzing back forth making sure the flow was as efficient as possible. My clerk was inexperienced & stumbled on a few steps, store manager steps in & gave an extra discount on an item rather than holding up the line. Seems to me quality customer service is their priority & I will continue to shop at the Edmonds store. read more

Went in for their Labor Day sale, and the place was BONKERS! I figured as much and was prepared for that, but not the rude service I got. An employee actually said "Not now!" as I simply said "Excuse me, I have a question." Then at the checkout I was told that a 25% coupon that was only good on Labor Day, and said it was good for ANY item not on sale otherwise, was NOT good for tool cabinets, which is what I had come to the store to buy. The cabinet, a 30" 5 drawer tool cabinet was listed at full price and I wanted to use the 25% coupon for only that item, and was told I couldn't. So much for Harbor Freight...POOF, another business I'll never use again. I'll use their flyers that come in the mail to line the bottom of the kids hamster cage from now on. read more

Staff was rude and unhelpful. I think they were preoccupied with my race not being Caucasian. I am a 12+ year customer to Harbor Freight. I've never been treated as rude as this before. I bought nearly $100 worth of tools and when trying to reference coupons, the staff at this location refused to help. This company has a complex system of discounts and coupons and price reductions. The advertised sale prices are good but not the lowest price available to loyal customers. Looking up my customer number shows I've been a customer for over 10 years, yet the clerk (Tristan) treated me like a homeless fellow and moved on to the next customer when I was trying to show him my discount. Thankfully, there are other stores in this area and I will avoid this particular store until these bad employees are removed. read more

If you want the absolute cheapest low quality tools, Harbor Freight is great but you get what you pay for. The cashiers are hard core data miners so be prepared to give them way too much information at the til. Some of the more basic tools are OK but anything with a blade or a motor is suspect. A lot of what they sell is just plain junk. read more
