No emotion didn't say hello. Barely want to even help me but whatever I ordered apart online so I was just picking it up. Went back the next day, online it says the close at 6:30 I got there at 6:03. As soon as I walk in a man and a lady are just standing there talking and laughing and they instantly look at me and say "oh we're closed" even though the door is wide open and then they're just sitting there kicking the shit. I just stand there with a blank face cuz I'm like...really.. it's damn near 30min till close time and yall are literally doing nothing. Lady says.. "well do you know what you need?" Cuz she knew I was like wtf.. so that was her attempt to help me, but I was returning something.. I knew it was gana be an issue so I just turn around and walked out.. they literally walked right behind me and closed the door n locked it. Stood there n watch me go to my car. You think they would help me when there's still 30 minutes to the store closes and there's nobody in there. It's not like they're busy. I'm the only customer in there. Pathetic il never step foot in there again.

So I take my time selecting what I need versus what I want especially because I don't know when I will have the next chance to return. I easily spend several hundreds of dollars here buying my chisels and other carving hand tools. It's cool that the worker remembers who I am (excellent service). The owner himself takes the time to show me the various chisels that they have and you can tell just by listening to him talk the pride he has for the tools that he carries.

The first call was disconnected by the person who answered. A subsequent call was not answered, and I ultimately reached the store from another number and was told the item was in stock. When I arrived, a different employee assisted me and completed the sale. During checkout, the employee opened the product box without my request while responding to a product-related question. The question could have been answered without opening the packaging. The item was not needed and remained unused. When I attempted to return it, I was informed that the store does not accept returns under any circumstances. This policy was not disclosed at the time of purchase and is not stated on the receipt. Under California consumer expectations, material terms such as a no-return policy should be clearly disclosed prior to purchase so customers can make informed decisions...especially when packaging is opened by store staff. Posting this so other customers are aware of the store's policies before purchasing. If you purchase materials like wood or pipe, they can cut it for you for transport! The selection of paint, hardware, garden supplies, light bulbs, power tools, adhesives, and most other typical household hardware needs are excellent. Based on size, they don't stock as much lumber or appliances as big box stores. Very helpful -- they do cartridge exchange for Soda Stream!! And have many options of Soda Stream flavorings. They also sell local honey up at the cash register! Altadena Hardware is my first choice for hardware needs!
