I am posting this review to promote consumer awareness and transparency. I called in advance to confirm the availability of an electronic drill driver. The first call was disconnected by the person who answered. A subsequent call was not answered, and I ultimately reached the store from another number and was told the item was in stock. When I arrived, a different employee assisted me and completed the sale. During checkout, the employee opened the product box without my request while responding to a product-related question. The question could have been answered without opening the packaging. The item was not needed and remained unused. When I attempted to return it, I was informed that the store does not accept returns under any circumstances. This policy was not disclosed at the time of purchase and is not stated on the receipt. Under California consumer expectations, material terms such as a no-return policy should be clearly disclosed prior to purchase so customers can make informed decisions...especially when packaging is opened by store staff. Posting this so other customers are aware of the store's policies before purchasing.

Didnt let me look around the store to find what i need. Was being pushy. Said "you're not allowed to look around. Idk what kind of store they're running. Bad customer service. Store is a mess anyways. They have there lunch on a table in the middle of the store. read more

Charged me $1.00 to pay with CC and had to return those two items because The Home Depot had them one of them $5.00 cheaper and the other one was $4.00 cheaper but was charged another $1.00 and that old guy was rude on top of that maybe because I was returning those items so I do not recommend this place at all it was my first time going to that store and last read more

After driving on the road for 3 days from bowling green Kentucky. i grew a list of things i needed from a hardware store and i pulled up google maps and found this store to be nearby and looked promising so we decided to stop by. After walking in, the first thing i noticed was how cluttered the store was and how dusty thing were and also the overwhelming presence of the pushy workers asking us every 1 minute if i am ok and do we need help and what are we looking for. We proceeded to say we are looking around and we are ok and dont need help. I guess that wasnt enough for these people. After about 5 times asking us if we need help they said we cant look around and the boss upstairs is watching us. I like going to hardware stores and seeing what they have but this ruined my experience. Everything was triple the price and super cluttered and dusty and they said we cant shop around. No wonder the shelfs are dusty and full of random products they cant sale BECAUSE THEY WONT LET YOU LOOK AROUND !!!! Not to mention their lunch table was literally in the middle of the store with old food I dont write reviews often let alone at all but my experience was soo bad i decided to leave one if i could put ZERO stars i would WORST EXPERIENCE EVER read more

Been coming here for years. The workers there have decades of knowledge and always give me good advice.

Short hispanic lady always negative telling her problems to the whole world . I lost my receipt to exchange a small purchase but was denied as you can see in the picture below. I don't see a big deal but is all good . Bad vibes Bad experience never coming back read more

Ziegler's Hardware - New , never opened , was denied an exchange... smh - Building Supplies Near Me - South Gate, California

Nasty customer service. Both over the phone and in person. The lady was rude, I recommend knowing what you need before entering this facility and avoid asking the staff any questions. ZERO stars. read more

10 lbs of s#!t in a 5lb bag. Had everything but 1/4-32 counter sunk bolts 1 inch long

Ziegler's is my local go-to hardware store. They have what you need when you need it. The quality and customer service is excellent. I enjoy their expertise and their small chit chat. We are lucky to have this hardware store in our community. read more

I needed an old circuit breaker that Home Depot does not carry, found it here on a Sunday. Definitely saved the day

The worst customer service ever!!!!! Could not refund me $6 dollars because package was open and used, after helping and supposedly gave me the right size I needed. WRONG!!!!! [review on behalf of my disabled elderly aunt] It's unfortunate that this small business comes with the WORST customer service. The man behind the counter was extremely condescending to me and was even confrontational when the customer behind me was trying to deescalate the situation. He went as far as to insult us both in the parking lot looking to escalate the problem into a physical attack. I went in looking for a simple tool and left feeling insulted, traumatized, and disappointed. Upon following up with the manager she was quick to justify the man's actions and blame the situation on me. The community deserves better!!! read more

We went to buy a part for our water heater and the older lady that was the cashier was rude from the start. We asked for help looking for the part and she ignored us. Finally, someone gave us what he said would work. It didn't work. We went back to see if we could exchange it for the right part and then the lady started yelling at us saying she can't resell anything that's open and to not even bother. We hadn't even used the part. She could've said it without yelling, especially considering it was her staff that told us that was the part we needed. Worst customer service. read more

I needed it a key made for my shop and no body was able to make me a copy that works I had about 3 keys made in other places and mover even open the lock. I came and talk to the owner bout the key and she right away told me she could help me with making a new copy. After few minutes she had 2 keys made for me and I was already thinking they are not going to work. The next day I open the locks with No problem even better that's the original copy that I have. The lady socorro was very nice and attentive with her customer service interaction with me, also other customer seem like they knew her for a long time. I felt like been at home welcoming family to my houSe She has so much variety of products like bake tubes and seats also light bulbs at a really great price also tools etc. Was to happy to be there that next time I won't even think about I be stopping here first. read more

They do not provide 30 day It is only same day return which makes no sense. The elderly lady that works the cashier is extremely rude. Needs customer service skills or just retire and stay at home. read more

This hardware store has high quality products that I need for my company and also the cute lady that makes the keys does such a good job in the store she is one of the reasons I come back for quality service and products and the cute lady knows hope to make the keys for my company trucks . I highly recommend this store to everyone . read more

The vibes of this store is a ma and pa shop, and sort of like a hole in the wall store. The place is PACKED with different things- dare I say cluttered (bordering on hoarding). My friend really enjoys coming here however. And we recently went to mix paint for a project he was working on. The guy who helped us was attentive, and the people that work here seem to be friendly. It honestly doesn't look that clean, and like I said it's pretty crowded inside, but they seem to help my friend when he needs handy tools. Since the staff were nice, I'm giving it a higher review. But based on the interior, presentation of the place I would probably knock off a star or two. read more

I love this location just down the street from me and the staff have plenty of years of experience I highly recommend this store

This place is the worst they give u any part they have available just so u can buy but if the part doesn't work they make all kinds of excuse and won't give u the money back. The owner has no respect for the customers won't even talk to u about why ur not getting ur money back and just tell u to leave. I was just trying to support local business. read more

As soon as we walk in the store they greeted my boyfriend and I. We've been there a couple times and they're always so helpful. I love being able to shop at small family owned businesses & this one is definitely a good one. They had everything we wee looking for. read more

Awful store. Awful lady dragon. It's a mess. Stuff piled everywhere. I couldn't believe that an independent store like this had no one there who could answer my questions about a simple lamp/dimmer wiring problem. "No se como hacer" They sell the shit, but don't bring your questions. I bought loose wire--RGWB--there was no measuring stick or guide next to the spools, so I guesstimated. At the register a helper took the wire and placed it on the ground to estimate the total length of all 4 wires. He called it 10 feet. The nasty dragon lady then balls him out right in front of me saying "why are you valuing it so cheap, we don't give things away!" You stupid dip shit--he was rounding off. And at .29 cents per foot, you're really gonna gripe over .58 cents? What an ugly woman. That was my first and last time there. If I ever hear of that store going out of business I will not feel bad for them. Pinche marana patan--she totally presumed I don't speak Spanish. read more

What a difference it makes to come to these small neighborhood hardware stores compared to Home Depot. Let's face it, for real issues that aren't for components of modern built homes, Home Depot sucks ass. I've been here twice for urgent plumbing repairs and both times, one of the workers here looked at my part, from late 50s early 60s plumbing, and took me and pointed out and pulled out the part. Each time took about 1 minute or less to find the part and could easily have been 2 minutes in and out to find the part and pay, if it weren't for talking with them a little bit. These are parts that you simply cannot get at Home Depot. The people at Zeiglers are friendly, knowledgeable, and have a vast array of parts for century old constructed homes to modern. Highly recommend it. One thing I'm not sure of is their proficiency in English for helping non Spanish speaking customers. I simply did not speak with them in English and used only Spanish read more

My experience visiting Ziegler's Hardware was great . All staff was wearing there masks and I was greeted right away , I received help immediately unfortunately the person that was helping me was not as Knowledgeable as the owner of the store , she immediately reached out to me and helped me solve and find the items I was looking for , she really knows her merchandise and very knowledgeable of nuts and bolts that she sells in the hardware store and I will gladly visit this store again. This store is a bilingual Spanish and English speaking store that serves its community! read more

So my fiancé went here YESTERDAY to get copies for my car and the lady with the glasses didn't know how to cut the key right, she kept jamming the key into my cars ignition up to the point where my fiancé told her to stop and just give us the refund for the keys we paid for , she kept saying no and the car wouldn't turn on anymore , she blamed the car not starting on it being old but my car runs smooth it was her lack of skills that Damaged my car , my fiancé told her she needs to fix that issue so she called a lock smith to fix the ignition and the man knew it was the messed up keys she made and Jammed that messed it up , she still didn't want to give us the refund but she had too at the end. I DONT RECCOMEND GETTING KEYS THERE . At your OWN RISK read more

My handyman suggested finding a specific door hinge here. Good thing, I found it. i also needed a lightbulb for an outdoor lamp and specifically asked if I could return it. he said yes. Home Depot probably sells the same bulb but I bought it at Ziegler's instead. I tried it on my outdoor lamp. it wasn't the bulb; it was the lamp. And so I went to return the bulb; yet they wouldn't give me a refund because it was opened. Idiots. When I bought it, I was told that I could return the bulb. I explained that how was someone to know if the product works or not?! I'll never shop here again. read more

Support local business ! Customer service is great and they really add a personalized touch to your hardware shopping experience.

Been going to this store since I was a kid. It is small family owned store. Now I got there looking for everything and anything I may need to work on my house or any other project. I work in construction and often go here for what I need. Wont go there if I am going to build an entire house. Support small business, prices sometimes are a tad bit higher than big box stores, sometimes they are the same or even cheaper. At this store you can even find quality items that are no longer made, like the other day I got a really good lock that is not made anymore and it cost me probably a third of what it is worth. The owner and the employees are all great, I have seen people walk into this store and try to take advantage of the store and its staff. Great people, great store. If they do not have what you need in stock they most definitely order it for you. They are officially supplied by ACE Hardware. The store owner and staff can actually make several keys faster than the minute key machine, now that is impressive. read more

This is the worst place to come buy anything , things are over priced which you can get at homedepot for way less , and if you wanna use your card it's a 5 dollar minimum so they force you to over pay for something that isn't needed if you don't hit the $5 mark, and the old lady that works for this store is rude as hell , I had the worst customer experience ever , I took a couple 2 inch bolts back to get a refund cause I didn't need them , and this lady has the fkn nerve to wanna charge me a dollar for a transaction fee to give me my refund back , who in the hell charges you to give you back your refund, it's outrageous ,they should have a no refund no exchanges policy if their gonna pull this stuff on customers , after arguing with this old woman about being charged to give me my money back , she has the fkn nerve to say please read up on how refunds work , wtf , last time I checked your not charged for your own refund!!! Never coming back to this shit hole, and I'm gonna make sure friends and fam don't either.. read more

I used to love this place, I came here for years to support the community the service WAS great at one time, however they have an older bald man who hates women customers and is so rude. He tried to over charge on screen repair, giving me reused old parts when I was charged for new ones. Told me to mine my own business he will charge me whatever he wants and I should just shut up. Treated me poorly and my family and I will never come back. It's a shame that I can no longer support my community because of this employee. The son and mother who own the place should make sure to never put this man in communication with customers because they will surely lose more loyal customers in the future. This toxic machismo is no longer accepts and will no longer be expected in society. I'm so sad I can no longer patronize what used to be a my go to hardware store. Ps this month I'm doing major painting I was planning on spending a few hundred dollars there to support my city but now Home Depot will get my money. So big mistake. read more

I'm completely disappointed with this store the Owner saw me there waiting for over 15 minutes and then she came ask me how can she helped me, I bought something there and I was returning it, to my surprise she says they don't give Refunds because it's Opened already, I said what do you mean? I came yesterday and ask if I opened what would happen? They said to me they would take it back as long as I had the receipt. Unfortunately that didn't happen today therefore people DO NOT BUY A THIS STORE, they'll say one thing and do another. read more

Not one improvement, not one! Haven't been here for months. Passing by, decided to stop and pick up a 12 inch drill extension bit. As I'm walking in already ganged up on by three guys asking what I need. No "good morning", no "hello how are you". I ask if he they have an extension bit for a drill. No speak English. My Spanish not good enough for this, I walk in and start looking for the drill section. He's not two feet behind me. I turn around to go back, bump right into him. He asks again, I try to describe it best I can. He goes to ask another worker. I spot the drill bits area.....yay! I'm looking looking, the guys yells I have it. Wratchet set extension. Uh nope! I'm looking looking turn and bump into guy number two. Turn again guy number one is back, push my way there, guy number three is by the door. Freaking mug me already!! Guys this is NOT customer service!! Once again Ziegler is on my list of not "no" places but "hell no". Made my way to the door and broke out. Unless you know Spanish and exactly what you need I wouldn't recommend this place. This is not a place to browse or try to decide what you need for different projects. They don't allow the time, space OR freedom to move around. Keeping my business elsewhere! What happened to the Ziegler's I used to know back in the day!? read more

Truth be told I only went into the store because Jake Gyllenhaal was around. One of the last scenes in the movie Zodiac was filmed there, that and I needed window screen repairs cause...yeah I had to break into my house (long story don't ask). When you walk in the store it's a bit overwhelming there is stuff everywhere but somehow they know exactly where everything is. Overall very nice, helpful and educated staff....they actually know what they are talking about not like the idiots they hire at evil Home Depot. Will definitely return for all my household/breaking into to household (cause I forgot my keys) needs. read more
