Just learned from another " buyer" that A-1 Hardware is actually a small mom and pop store a d does not sell lawnmowers or anything remotely close. Unfortunately I didn't see hisnpost until after we thought we purchased a riding lawnmower !!! Someone apparently hacked this mom and pop store and is pretending to sell items such as lawnmower, sheds etc! I purchased a shed for delivery that was marked down 81%. I had a feeling it was too good to be true, so I used PayPal to pay, knowing they have buyer protection. Good thing, because after 4 days of my order remaining in "pending" status, I was told I'd have a tracking number on Monday. It's now the end of day Wednesday, I've sent 3 more messages that were all ignored, and my order is still classified on the website as "pending." I contacted PayPal to get my refund, which I will have in 3 days. read more

I try to support the smaller stores and this hardware store has been around for a long time. I was a frequent customer and wanted to give them a chance but I finally decided not to go there anymore. I got tired of the messy and unorganized clutter and the service has always been below standard. I am surprised they still use those "death trap" ladders in the nuts and bolts section. I came here to get some bolts cut. It was actually my third stop of the day. My first was Home Depot, where the customer service associate literally did not pause his conversation with another associate about some mundane life event to tell me they don't do that there. The second stop was B&B Hardware, which I called TWICE (8:40am, then 12:10pm) to confirm that they'd be able to do it for me. They did not, and my experience there is reserved for another review that I may leave for them. Anyway, I came here, and they cut my bolts immediately without any snide remarks or attitude, and it was, frankly, so refreshing and different from my earlier 2 hardware store experiences, I was so grateful and pleased. I can't speak to their inventory (looks like a small shop), but their customer service is on point! I'll be returning for any other hardware-related needs. read more
