The owners and their dedicated, expert staff want to see you succeed in your project, and will listen and counsel to give you the best (and often unique and ingenious) solution. As the other reviewers say, they are patient and kind, and unfailingly "go above and beyond" for their customers. They have, as Sven says, an amazing array of varied stock, and wonderful, inexpensive services, like cutting wood and making screens. For such excellent service, are the prices higher? NOOO! I have paid less at Baller Hardware for many items than what I would have at Home Depot (after wandering clueless in the HD aisles for hours, like the Lost Tribes of Israel) Walk in needing any "random" obscure item and you will have it in 5 minutes. Was overwhelmed by the thousands of little metal things but there happened to be an HD Fellow who wasn't a kid in the aisle so I inquired. Robert took his time establishing what I wanted to rig and then thoughtfully went through numerous drawers to find the exact adapters. His know-how waded through countless fittings (some in the wrong drawers which he spotted immediately) and sent me on my merry. Robert is a Treasure. I'm sure they know but I'm happy to sing his praises.
