They share a space with a florist that is open during the week, so I got confused and thought they opened during the week. They're not. The space is not huge, but it was fun to prowl around the different sections and find hidden treasures from Japan. The owner is really good about taking time to explain what each item is and the different uses, as well as care and handling. This place is such a huge contrast to shopping at Walmart. Made me think of a small town hardware shop that is the heart of the community with people stopping by to have keys made or knives sharpened or whatever random thing they need. These kinds of places are treasures! Definitely worth a visit and definitely worth supporting. Glad I did!

I easily spend several hundreds of dollars here buying my chisels and other carving hand tools. It's cool that the worker remembers who I am (excellent service). The owner himself takes the time to show me the various chisels that they have and you can tell just by listening to him talk the pride he has for the tools that he carries.

The first call was disconnected by the person who answered. A subsequent call was not answered, and I ultimately reached the store from another number and was told the item was in stock. When I arrived, a different employee assisted me and completed the sale. During checkout, the employee opened the product box without my request while responding to a product-related question. The question could have been answered without opening the packaging. The item was not needed and remained unused. When I attempted to return it, I was informed that the store does not accept returns under any circumstances. This policy was not disclosed at the time of purchase and is not stated on the receipt. Under California consumer expectations, material terms such as a no-return policy should be clearly disclosed prior to purchase so customers can make informed decisions...especially when packaging is opened by store staff. Posting this so other customers are aware of the store's policies before purchasing. I ordered a product through the Ace app and they delivered it immediately. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for me so I had to return it in person, which was a bit of a schlep. When I got there, the customer service greeted me with friendliness, professionalism, and expertise, then quickly helped me process my return. The team of staff was milling about, chatting and getting chores done. They reminded me of the "nice, responsible kids" from high school. They were so on top of things. I didn't see any available push carts. So I grabbed a hand cart. Which meant less stuff I can buy. So this store lucked out on me going over the limit of shopping. This place is like most Harbor Freight locations. For a single line and wait for one of the cashiers to call you. They ask for your phone number like most locations. But I don't do that bs anymore. Because I get online coupons, using their app. So no need to give my number so they can keep tabs on what I buy. They accept ApplePay. So it's convenient for me.

Formerly the location of a Tuesday Morning, Ace Hardware now has a convenient location near me, in Lakewood. Prior, I had to drive a bit further into Long Beach to visit Ace. Needing to duplicate a house key, I remembered the new Ace location, so decided to check out the new store to accomplish my mission. Walking inside, I was immediately greeted, where I let them know my reason for visiting, and was quickly helped. The key cutting took about 5 minutes, costing only $6. While I was there, I noticed signage specifying Ace also cuts & programs car key fobs. I asked for an estimate, and was quoted $150. Wow! I recently had a mobile locksmith cut & program a new key fob for my vehicle, and I had paid $250. Granted, the convenience factor of having the locksmith show up at home & around 11 pm at night, the service should cost more. Knowing Ace can do the job and less costly to boot, I'll be heading to Ace when the need should arise. Ace Hardware's staff were friendly & hospitable, especially the gentleman handling the key duplication. Parking is via a shared lot, at the Vons Supermarket plaza. Ace is located on the left of Daiso. I am highly satisfied with my visit to Ace Hardware in Lakewood. I accomplished what I set out to do, didn't pay ridiculous prices, and have an option for car key fob cutting & programming, in the future. Also, Ace Hardware is not big & intimidating, compared to the big box hardware stores Home Depot & Lowes. I highly recommend Ace Hardware.

The building is not hard to find and easily spotted with the huge sign as well! When you enter, you will find a huge selection of items from paints to chains. You'll find everything you need. Because it is a huge store, you might need some help from some of the employees. Be sure to ask because they are more than happy to help you out. They have great customer service and often are stocked up with certain items according to season. During the summer, they made sure to have a plethora of fans and air conditioning to be purchased. You can tell the employees and owners want you to have the items that you need. Also if you have huge orders for business and they don't have enough in store, you can make orders and Ms. Lee will help you out. Overall, it's a wonderful small business that you can tell that the employees really care about you and you getting your items. Appreciate everything that Gus' is doing.
