Came in here a handful of times for little things (sealant, mesh screen, bucket, keys) and they have the best customer service, and always had exactly what we needed even with a much smaller selection than the giant stores. Sometimes we found way cooler things like when making keys for my daughter's first apartment, couldn't help but be sold on the one shaped like a mini sword. And why did no one ever tell me about the pies?! Been back twice in the past month just for pies and nothing else. I don't even like pies that much but here I am obsessing over them. They are crazy good and you can't fail with any flavor. If nothing else, just go in and grab a pie. So worth it!! read more

Great service, ample parking, and pies! We don't frequent ace hardware too often but after looking around the store I just might start coming more. They sell frozen pies which I heard are delicious. I plan to smoke one next week. They also have some equipment and accessories for your blackstone and your smokers. Came into store to see if they had what I was looking for. I asked to use the restroom seeing as I'm 39weeks pregnant, I was told to walk to Vons. I was barely able to walk Into the store for what I needed. Sign on the door says "restroom for customers only" supposed pregnant women can't be customers. It's ok I'll go to Amazon for what I need instead. It's sad when people have no empathy for children, elderly and pregnant people. read more

This is the first time I've been to the Lakewood Ace Hardware, it will not be the last! I came in for an anti BUG light for the patio. I left with the light, a bag of lawn seed, and chewy's for the dogs! This store has everything and if they don't, you don't need it! Staff was super nice, including Sandy, who was at the counter and hooked me up with coupons for future fun! They have an extensive BBQ section with the BIGGEST Green Egg BBQ I have ever seen! Enough spice rub mixtures for a years worth of variety. They even have frozen fruit pies!! read more

So I am at odds with this spot maybe because I was spoiled for so many years with a red ball. Unfortunately they closed so I had to find a new location. This particular spot had knowledgeable employees with a wide variety of selections that I was looking for. They have the odd nuts and bolts. They have the most random for metric and centimeter items that you'll ever need with people that will be able to help you find them and give you knowledge on how to utilize them. I was looking for a replacement bathtub faucet knob and found a set that I thought would fit but did not. Since I was on this side of town on a Saturday morning, I waited upon returning it until I was in the area a week after and the clerk returned it with no hassles. The staff here is so friendly, they help you find the tools you need and give the feeling of community in a neighborhood hardware store. This store doesn't only sell hardware, they also sell items for your pets, Christmas decorations, plants, and snacks. Plus a wide selection of barbecue accessories with tons of deals. This location would not cut a car key for me. Standard car key for an 09 Scion, not a laser cut key. Said they needed the manager to sign off on it but he denied it after thinking about it. Claimed it was because I did not buy the blank key from them. Wanted to charge me $180 to buy their key. Kind of a bummer. I've had keys cut at the Ace in Orange with no problem at all. Everyone at this ACE Hardware location was incredibly friendly and helpful. I was looking for a specialty item, a "wipe drip rail" for 1/2-inch glass and while they didn't have it in stock, they went the extra mile by referring me to a local, family-owned glass shop that did. The other store had it on hand and even custom-fitted it for me! I'm not sure if this ACE is privately owned, but it definitely feels like it, great service with a personal touch. Best customer service!!! I went there yesterday after going to Home Depot Signal Hill which lacks customer service. I was looking for a screw for a faucet and when I asked for help at Home Depot from several associates, I was told "Aisle 11", there's hundreds of screws or no screws in the aisles that I was sent to. I wasted over 30 minutes of my time and left there with nothing. I drove about 20 minutes to Ace Hardware in Lakewood and it was worth the drive. As soon as I entered the store, I was greeted and asked if I needed assistance. The sales associate actually walked with me to the aisle and he was doing all the searching. I actually left there without a screw only because I needed to bring in another piece to make sure that I was given the correct screw. I'll go back in a couple of days. As I was leaving the store, I was again thanked for coming in. They appreciate your patronage of their business. I will now be going to this Ace Hardware for all our household news. Horrible customer service skills. I came in to return a tool that did not work for me. The staff loosened the bolts on the item in an attempt to "make it work," and proceeded to tell me it was fine. I have no interest in keeping a product that needs to be altered right out of the packaging to simply function properly. The staff were also incredibly rude when I said I simply wanted a return. I repeatedly thanked the staff, despite them belittling me, and the cashier could not say a word back. It's disappointing to see this level of customer service. Businesses like this often struggle and lose customers to online shopping, yet somehow still feel justified in treating their clientele poorly. I'll be moving forward with a formal complaint to corporate. If the staff dislike their jobs, perhaps they should consider pursuing something they're passionate about rather than taking it out on customers. read more

had a wonderful experience at this store, Chuck greeted us as soon as we walked in and asked us what we needed then walked us over to the item and helped us pick out the right one. we were looking for a grill top for our fire pit that we just built and he even helped us find cheaper fire starters for us so we wouldn't spend too much money. Finally we get an Ace in Lakewood! Smaller than your typical hardware store but they do carry some items/brands I can never find at the other stores. Prices are pretty much the same too but they have coupons they send out or via the rewards you sign up for. Everyone we came across with seemed pretty helpful and nice.
