I have usually seen Happy Lemon inside Sunmerry Bakery locations. Decided to stop by on my way to pick up my Togo order from Ipoh. Ordered 3 drinks: Oolong milk tea with boba- 0% sugar- I was surprised at how sweet the boba itself made the drink without any added sweetness. Grapefruit green tea- just normal, drink had grapefruit pulp Mango passion green tea--- the drink had passion fruit seeds inside which made it a hassle to drink. The decor is cute and store is clean. One complaint I have is that there was a buy one get one 50% off deal, which the cashier didn't mention to me. Probably would've enticed me to return sooner or more often if she did offer to me. This store is severely understaffed. There is only one person making the drinks and taking orders. I had to wait 35+ minutes for a drink. Store was mostly empty too.... The sole employee in the store was nice and very apologetic. Honestly, it must have been stressful for him to manage the store by himself, I can't blame him. The store management needs to consider hiring more staff, as waiting more than half an hour for a drink at an empty store is completely unacceptable. It's located inside Regent plaza. It's small, bright yellow, and looks clean. Service is friendly. The location does offer private parking at back. Please note they do not have restroom, but do have some small tables and seats. I ordered Okinawa milk tea with 75% sweetness and 75% ice plus boba. This was one of the most dehumanizing experiences I've ever had at a business. I came into Happy Lemon ALHAMBRA needing to use the restroom urgently -- it was a real emergency -- and I told the manager I was planning to buy something right after. Instead of showing even the slightest bit of empathy or understanding, the manager flat-out refused and spoke to me in a rude, dismissive tone. Policies are one thing, but basic human decency is another. Denying someone a bathroom in an emergency -- especially when they're clearly about to be a paying customer -- is not just bad service, it's inhumane. I left feeling humiliated and shocked that someone in a customer-facing role could act like that.
