I came to Happy Bao and left being a Sad Bao. Staff were very friendly and nice. Vibe inside was clean and chill. Food: I was kinda disappointed on the flavors of the dumplings. The flavors wasn't really there. They all tasted the same, just bland. Only food I like was the pork wonton noodle, its was flavorful. Please add more flavor to your dumplings!! Chili oil wasn't spicy at all, we asked for spicy sauce. Not even a hit of spicy.
While visiting Phoenix, we met with some local friends for lunch. It was very yummy! Didn't realize they'd just opened this location in the spring. All of the food we had was delicious! They were sold out of chicken and pork soup dumplings, so we settled for seafood. The cucumber salad was my favorite- the garlic was so tasty. I would honestly say it's comparable to Din Tai Fung! Fried rice was delicious too- the flavors were great. Definitely recommend stopping by! The family who runs it is so kind.
Ummmmm yes a must try!!! I tried all the things and can't wait to try more!!! I really enjoyed everything that I got! It was packed when I got there for my pick up making me lowkey happy I was taking it to go! It's a smaller space but clean and the food is good so if you're willing to wait a little bit for a table you'll be fine! The food was fresh hot and I also added the homemade chili sauce sooooo worth it!!
Im so happy they have a location in north phx now. The food was great and in my opinion, better than din tai fung's! The skin of the xlb is much softer and they have more soup inside them. The service was good, it is a small business. I wish they had a little bit more space inside but overall, everything was great.
Fantastic service, food and super relaxed atmosphere. $40 was a great deal for all of this. We'll be back!
They have a bright menu with a lot of pictures. Chill vibes. Pokémon was on, they have a big tv with it on. No idea if that's what they always play bc I wasn't fully watching. Food was pretty decent. We bought a spread so we could taste different things. The seafood xiao long bao was decent. Mild flavor, thin wrapper. They have a vinegary xiao long bao sauce on the table to accompany it. It tastes even better with it. It's not overly salty, which is always good. Kiddo ordered Lu Ro Fan and hated it. I tried it, it was fine. She just wasn't a fan of the textures but said flavor wise it was fine. You get a good size portion of food, there's a lot of flavors. I actually liked it and would eat it again. The only thing I thought could improve was having a softer boiled egg. It was fully hard boiled, just shy of getting the gray color on the yolk. Service was okay. Nothing to complain about, nothing special. You order from a QR code at the table. The dumplings were very mid. The wrappers were so thick. I think I'm extra particular because when I make mine I like thinner wrappers. Filling was okay, not that flavorful. On the table they have a dumpling sauce as well. We also ordered the Sheng Jian Bao combo. They were okay. Mild in flavor. Not bad but needed something flavor wise to step it up. Would I come back? Yes, there's still other things I want to try.
My family and I had pork green chives, chicken cabbage dumplings, house-fried rice and I don't remember what else. Goodness gracious! Everything was so delicious from the first bite to the last. The service was great. They checked up on us every 7-10 mins to make sure we had enough water,chili sauce, ginger and napkins. The vibes of this establishment is very welcoming and comforting. They gave us advice on the mixology of sauces for our food. If you're a family of 5 or more and looking for a place that serves family portions I highly recommend this place! We're definitely coming back on our next family outing.
I love the soup dumplings here, they're always flavorful and satisfying. The beef noodle soup is also excellent, warm, comforting, and perfect for any day. This location is very clean, spacious, and offers plenty of seating, making it a great place to dine in. Service is fast, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that keeps me coming back.
Absolutely loved our experience at Happy Bao in Glendale! We ordered the chicken xiao long bao, hot & sour noodle soup, cucumber salad, and beef sheng jian bao--and every single thing was SO good! The hot & sour noodle soup was incredible and definitely a standout. The cucumber salad was such a pleasant surprise and quickly became one of our favorites--so refreshing and flavorful! The chicken xiao long bao were delicious, and the beef sheng jian bao were just as amazing. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and seriously satisfying. We'll absolutely be back to try more of the menu!

Absolutely incredible. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavor and tasted incredibly fresh. The soup dumplings were the standout, perfectly juicy with a rich, savory broth inside. The pan-fried soup buns had an amazing crispy sesame-coated bottom while staying soft and juicy on top. The spicy wontons were coated in a flavorful chili oil that had just the right amount of heat, and the beef noodle soup was comforting, rich, and loaded with tender beef that fell apart with every bite. The service was friendly, the food came out hot and fresh, and you can tell everything is made with care. If you're a dumpling lover, this place is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back!
I have a *slight* (haha) soup dumpling habit. A trip to Vegas or LA and I will go to Din Tai Fung every day. I was super happy they opened up in the valley... but it is so hard to get a reservation and it is very spendy. You can image how thrilled I was to discover Happy Bao's and their awesome Xiao long bao! They are tender and very, very flavorful. The broth inside is superb! Are they the same? No. But they ARE great in their own way. They have more broth and are slighlty larger than I am used to. That said, they are still one bite and so tasty! Also, less expensive and closer to home! Wins all around! My only regret is that I couldn't finish them at the restaurant as I wanted to try other dishes. Also got the spicy chili wontons. Not too spice and the filling is very flavorful. The pork flavor was almost like sausage flavor, but not sausage... hard to describe. I also ordered the beef chow fun. The beef was tender and the overall flavor of the dish was yummy. The noodles seemed a tad overcooked, but i did really enjoy it. As I was dining alone, I had lots leftover and am looking forward to sharing them with a family member for lunch tomorrow. Service was great. Fast and friendly. Will definitely be back and can't wait to try other dishes!
Tried this place at their new location for the first time and i was impressed. The pork ribs were so tender and flavorful, the soup dumplings were delicious! I did think the dough was too much for the meat ratio but still yummy. The chicken spicy wontons were not my favorite. The dough was way too thick. Fried rice was mediocre, nothing special. The noodles were so yummy and flavorful. The service was excellent and the place was so nice!

I came here with family and ordered a couple of dishes, some of which included the spicy potato wires, vegetable sheng jian bao, and the red bean bao. It was my first time trying something like the potato dish, I personally didn't care much for it. The spice isn't too bad but I wish there was more flavor. I was also expecting some more flavor from the vegetable bao, but I liked the portion size and the amount you get with the order. The red bean bao was pretty good. The staff was really friendly and nice but I would recommend coming in during the weekday because they tend to get really busy on Friday and the weekend. read more
Okay, this was our first time here. We decided to try this place to celebrate Lunar New year. We had dumplings and noodles. Food came out hot and fat. Service is prompt and friendly. Happy Bao definitely serves one of the best Xiao Long Bao I've ever had! These soup dumplings were pork with a beautifully aromatic and tasty chicken broth. First time trying Jie Long Bao. These dumplings had a thicker breading, similar to a regular bun. Toasted sesame seed bottom. We chose beef. With the Bao Sauce, very delicious. Chinese BBQ Pork Fried Rice was very good too! Unfortunately, we had their beef noodle dish, I can't even tell you what it was because I didn't bother to take a picture of it. The noodles were gelatinous. No joke, terrible texture. However, they asked us how things were and we told him we didn't like the beef noodles. And without us asking, they just took it off the bill. And that is why they still got a five overall! read more
I've ordered from here so many times but this was the first time dining in here. A small place but well kept and clean. My friend's friends took us out to eat and we ordered a bunch of different items. The xiao long bao and noodles were very good. The Lurou Rice was okay. Didn't care for how big the braised pork was. A very cute cozy restaurant nestled in a strip mall. The ambiance is great with Pokémon playing on the TV And Chinese music on. There's about 11 tables of 4 as it's not a very huge space. Theres a wait list sign in an iPad as you enter. Ordering is a breeze with the QR code. There's pictures on the walls of the popular items as well. We ordered spicy beef noodle soup, egg fried rice, and sheng jian bao. The broth on the soup was bursting with flavor. The noodles were nice and chewy. It came with plentiful amount of protein. The egg fried rice was enjoyed by all of us. It was a great portion for sharing. The kids enjoyed it a lot. Lastly, we ventured off and tried a different bao. It was pan fried and was coated with sesame seeds on the bottom. The inside was very soft, outside was super crispy. The beef was seasoned perfectly. I paired it with XLB dipping sauce and chili oil for extra umami. Overall, we enjoy coming here and would definitely recommend it here. read more
If you want to be transported to authentic flavors of Taiwan, look no further! As a long time west valley resident, it's a long time coming! You can almost expect every dish to be of high quality. Spicy Beef Noodles Soup is a must! It is by far my favorite Taiwanese soup and I've had a lot locally and outside the state! The egg fried rice is another banger to get! Dumplings is also a must try! Happy Bao's was a really good experience overall. The food tasted great and felt very authentic. Their menu is somewhat limited, which can be a good or bad thing depending on what you're looking for, but it's clear they specialize in bao buns. I had never tried them before, so it was interesting to finally experience them, and they were definitely good and tasted authentic. The fried rice was one of my favorite dishes very flavorful with shrimp, chicken, vegetables, and egg. We also tried their pan-fried bao and wide stir-fried noodles with beef and onions, which were both really enjoyable. Overall, I would recommend this place if you're looking for authentic Chinese food. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I personally wish they had egg rolls on the menu, but that's just my preference. read more

Happy Bao's delivers simple, fresh food with thoughtful flavors. We stopped in early on New Year's Eve and loved being able to look through the paper menu, then place the order online from the table. Easy process. Helpful for deciding together. The place is small, but it makes up for it in the quality of food. We started with the Signature Dumplings filled with pork, chives, eggs, and shrimp. The table dumpling sauce and the Xiao Long Bao sauce brought out the richness without overpowering anything. Next came the Dan Dan noodles with spicy minced pork in five spice chili sauce, topped with cucumbers, scallions, cilantro, and peanuts on springy egg noodles. Perfect balance of heat, texture, and flavor. The portion worked well for two people sharing a light meal. We added Pork Sheng Jian Bao buns. Worth it. The sesame oil and toasted seed crust gave the buns a slight crunch on the bottom with tender filling inside. Easy to split. We took a few home because we were full, and I expect they will reheat well. High-quality food. Friendly pace. I highly recommend Happy Bao's and look forward to trying more dishes on the next visit read more

The service was amazing, it was my first time visiting this restaurant and I give it a 10/10. The noodles were delicious and were handmade, nothing can compare. This is a brand new place located in the same parking lot as Asiana Market. We received a beautiful welcome greeting from so many smiling faces upon arrival and we were immediately seated at a table. The food was incredible. We were shown how to bring out the flavors of the bao by dipping it into the special sauce and topping it with slivers of fresh ginger. It was zingy and it added a whole new flavor dimension. At the end of the meal, we declared "wow"! We were so impressed with the quality and flavors of the hand made food. You know when you're at a restaurant and the waiter walks by your empty cup of water 5 times until you ask for more? Welp! At happy boas you don't have to worry about that! Not only do they give you a whole gallon but when they see you running low on water they bring you a fresh one topped off with ice! The soup dumplings are amazing and the braised beef to die for!
