So happy they have one now closer to my house. Everything on the menu looked fantastic, it was hard to choose. We went with the classic Xiao Long Bao and wow I will be craving these. The Signature Dumplings were cooked perfect with great flavor. The Pork Wonton Noodle was so refreshing and such a simple dish that wasn't heavy. Dan Dan Noodle was little spicy for me but my husband loved it, but it was still a great flavor. We definitely had a great lunch and plenty leftovers. Our server was very helpful and explained the options. Such an unassuming place and small but the food is great!

I read all the reviews on Yelp and decided to stop in. I love pho and thought this would be similar but I think it's more Chinese focused. I could be wrong as I am still learning the difference between the cuisines. The service was fast and attentive when we arrived. I ordered the spicy beef soup and some spring rolls. The spring rolls were good and the soup was spicy. I think there were different parts of the beef in the soup which through me off. I became squeamish seeing the tripe and tendons. It's listed as spicy beef soup and it doesn't mention the different types of meat in it. I tried to eat around it but it was most of the meat. I ate the spring rolls and took the rest home to not be rude and waste the food there. The flavor was there but the meat was a no for me. Overall, if you like this type of food I think you would enjoy it.

They have a bright menu with a lot of pictures. Chill vibes. Pokémon was on, they have a big tv with it on. No idea if that's what they always play bc I wasn't fully watching. Food was pretty decent. We bought a spread so we could taste different things. The seafood xiao long bao was decent. Mild flavor, thin wrapper. They have a vinegary xiao long bao sauce on the table to accompany it. It tastes even better with it. It's not overly salty, which is always good. Kiddo ordered Lu Ro Fan and hated it. I tried it, it was fine. She just wasn't a fan of the textures but said flavor wise it was fine. You get a good size portion of food, there's a lot of flavors. I actually liked it and would eat it again. The only thing I thought could improve was having a softer boiled egg. It was fully hard boiled, just shy of getting the gray color on the yolk. Service was okay. Nothing to complain about, nothing special. You order from a QR code at the table. The dumplings were very mid. The wrappers were so thick. I think I'm extra particular because when I make mine I like thinner wrappers. Filling was okay, not that flavorful. On the table they have a dumpling sauce as well. We also ordered the Sheng Jian Bao combo. They were okay. Mild in flavor. Not bad but needed something flavor wise to step it up. Would I come back? Yes, there's still other things I want to try.

Vegetarian bao buns. So good!

Went here yesterday for a quick workweek lunch. It was tasty and fast service. The inside was clean and presentable. My boyfriend has the beef chow fun and it's not pictured but he approved and was a very generous proportion. I had the shrimp chow fun which was very good. Seasoning was perfect. You have to order it vegetarian style and then add shrimp. It is $6.00 extra for 4 shrimp but I was okay with because of my temporary pescatarian diet. We also had the vegetarian bao buns with the toasted sesame seeds and wow! It surprising good especially for being the vegetarian option. Flavor was spot on and texture was good. Taro bao buns of course were winners! You gotta try them. We would definitely come back.

Clean and friendly, soup dumping was my favorite. Chow fun is a classic, can never go wrong. Love the sauces they had on the table.

Tried this place at their new location for the first time and i was impressed. The pork ribs were so tender and flavorful, the soup dumplings were delicious! I did think the dough was too much for the meat ratio but still yummy. The chicken spicy wontons were not my favorite. The dough was way too thick. Fried rice was mediocre, nothing special. The noodles were so yummy and flavorful. The service was excellent and the place was so nice!

Okay, this was our first time here. We decided to try this place to celebrate Lunar New year. We had dumplings and noodles. Food came out hot and fat. Service is prompt and friendly. The place was small and clean. The only thing that was annoying was the bell that constantly rang when an order was ready.

I have been to the Mesa location many times. First time to try this location. Big parking lot. The place was clean but man it is on the smaller side (they may need a big space soon). We got the Hong Kong Fried Rice, Beef Chow Fun, Xiao Long Boa, and Pan Fried Boas!! The Beef Chow Fun that is legit (with work-breath (hei)). The pan fried Boas were so good but incredible filling. The dumpling skin on the xiao long boa, I was not a fan (it is not the same as the ones in Mesa). The service was friendly and fast.

Friendly service, good food at a reasonable price. What more do you need? This place is nice, new and clean. Our group had a variety of things. Roujiamo, Pork & Chicken Bao, Lu Rou Fan and the Dumpling Combo. and it was all very good. The baos take a bit of time since they're made from scratch and to order. They are worth the wait. The chicken ones were my favorite. Someone in my group was disappointed because there wasn't a large sauce selection, but I was fine with the ones they had. I will be back to try some of the soups that look really good. dumpling combo

I came here with family and ordered a couple of dishes, some of which included the spicy potato wires, vegetable sheng jian bao, and the red bean bao. It was my first time trying something like the potato dish, I personally didn't care much for it. The spice isn't too bad but I wish there was more flavor. I was also expecting some more flavor from the vegetable bao, but I liked the portion size and the amount you get with the order. The red bean bao was pretty good. The staff was really friendly and nice but I would recommend coming in during the weekday because they tend to get really busy on Friday and the weekend.

Happy Bao's was a really good experience overall. The food tasted great and felt very authentic. Their menu is somewhat limited, which can be a good or bad thing depending on what you're looking for, but it's clear they specialize in bao buns. I had never tried them before, so it was interesting to finally experience them, and they were definitely good and tasted authentic. The fried rice was one of my favorite dishes very flavorful with shrimp, chicken, vegetables, and egg. We also tried their pan-fried bao and wide stir-fried noodles with beef and onions, which were both really enjoyable. Overall, I would recommend this place if you're looking for authentic Chinese food. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I personally wish they had egg rolls on the menu, but that's just my preference.

Ribs. Toooooo good.

Came back another time and it was just as amazing! Loved it so much. Trid a few new things like the spicy chili dumplings and the beef ramen soup. YUMMMM

Located in the same parking lot as Asiana Market

This place is going to need a larger space! What a delightful find when searching for a place to have dinner. The new, clean space is located in the same parking lot as Asiana Market. Dined here on their Grand Opening! Guess they worked out the bugs during their soft opening as service was friendly and efficient! Of course I had to order the XLB and it did not disappoint!!! This alone gets a Yummos rating! The thin skinned dumpling had a very abundant amount of soup. I like putting my XLB in my soup spoon to avoid losing the soup. I was very impressed as each XLB did not break! The only negative is that I prefer the red XLB sauce, but that is just my personal preference. I was told the beef noodle soup (#21) was very tasty with a lot of noodles, beef tendon and baby bok choy. Would order both items again. I want to try the Roujiamo (#20) if I am ever in the area as it is a dish I have never tried. Visit during Happy Bao's grand opening and maybe you can score some giveaways. Hey Joyce W., don't "bao" out of an awesome opportunity to get some delish XLB!

You order, pay at the counter and grab your beverage from the refrigerator. Your meal is packed in styrofoam so you either take out or eat in at one of the few tables inside. Parking is very easy because they are at the end of a strip mall in a big parking lot. Our food was very fresh. Portions were very large. The chicken in our dishes was masterfully moist and very tender. The food is a very good value if you like it. We ordered the yui shan chicken and the garlic chicken combos (only around $1. more to get soup, crab puff, egg roll and an upgrade from white rice to fried rice.) Based on only trying two dishes my conclusion is that they serve Arizona Style American Chinese Food. It is far less complex, less flavorful, and much less spicy than east coast American take out Chinese Food. It's not bad food in anyway so if you are from Arizona it is very good food. We started eating at the restaurant but I got the idea that I could take the food home and improve it for my taste. The food stayed piping hot and it did taste much better with just a spoonful of chili crisp added more flavors and some needed heat. The people working there seemed very nice and the restaurant looked sparkling clean. 3 stars is a positive review and means A-OK on Yelp. Give this place a try if you are good with Arizona Style Take Out Chinese Food.

I recommend coming during their lunch times, I came on a Sunday and they still offered their lunch menu. The lunch menu plates are huge! They come with your entree, soup, chow mein, rice, a crab ragoon, and an egg roll. I ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp and it was delicious. It had a slight kick, bit it wasn't too spicy. The shrimp was cooker perfectly, mot rubbery. My favorite was the egg drop soup, it had tofu in it and it was addictive. I definitely recommend checking George and Sons out!

To be clear, I am a New Yorker and know good fast Chinese food. The ambiance was promising. It looked like I was finally going to find what I've been looking for in Phoenix for years. For whatever reason, Chinese restaurants in Arizona serve egg hockey pucks and cover it with various items and call it egg foo young. I even asked about it before I ordered it. Alas when I got home and saw what I had, I was disappointed. It's faster to make it this way but the egg hockey puck had no taste - zero. They could have at least added oyster sauce, a little soy sauce, maybe nam plah, and perhaps sesame oil. It was tasteless. A complete miss. I also ordered something simple, shrimp spring rolls. They were delicious! I inhaled them and will order them again. I'd go again just for the spring rolls. Maybe they have other dishes that are good and I may not entirely give up but the egg foo young is a no go.
