Located inside Niu Mama Kitchens food hall, although their specialty is dumplings they do have a couple of items that are different. I appreciate the variety and how you can choose to have your dumplings are prepared as well, ex: steamed, pan-fried, or deep fried. My child and I ordered their signature dumplings of pork, chive, egg, and shrimp pan-fried to share and it was absolutely delicious. Our order came out at a decent time and service was friendly. I would love to come back to try out more items. read more

This place is great. Come hungry!!!! It's a little Korean food kitchen there's 5 different businesses serving various Asian delicacies, drinks and desserts. We didn't even get to try half of them because we came for the dumpling left happy to with dumpling belly. The dumplings were great but surprisingly the soup dumplings were my least favorite. Little too think for me, but at this point I'm really just being picky. Defenitly will be back. read more

OMG! Love this place. Lao Ma Dumpling is located inside the Niu Mama Kitchen in Glendale. We decided to try the wonton soup. It was loaded with pork and shrimp wontons Hong Kong style. The broth was clear and very tasty. Also ordered pan fried pork and chives dumplings with hot spicy chili oil. The dumplings were so juicy and flavorful. And a nice size too. Service was quick. You order by using the kiosk. It's like eating in a food court that is clean and spacious. read more

The dumplings here remind me of the dumplings my mom used to make when I was a kid. I shared the dumpling combo and the crawfish dumplings. It was plenty to share and they were well seasoned and had just the right amount of filling. I appreciated that they add an extra layer of cornstarch slurry to the dumplings for when they pan fry them to add an extra layer of crispy crunchiness. Service was pleasant and friendly. This shop is part of the Niu Mama food hall so you order at the counter and take a seat at any of the tables available. read more

My friend and I decided to check this place out after seeing various food ads and foodie group posts. This is a food stall located inside Niu Mama Food Hall. There are a few vendors located inside, that include Japanese, Korean & Chinese. We opted to try Lao Ma Dumplings. We ordered Special Pan Fried Shrimp dumplings, Mama's Potstickers (Egg, Chive & glass/vermicelli noodles) and spicy wontons. The Potstickers were some of the best I have ever had outside of LA and San Francisco. They were seasoned well and perfectly pan seared. The special pan fried shrimp dumplings included that crispy "skirt". The spicy wontons were ok, but not spicy for me, but seasoned well. Again, the general seating is shared food court seating, so you just pick a table to enjoy your food for dine-in. It was clean and orderly. The lady that took our order was friendly and their cleaning staff was quick to clean up tables. I would definitely come back to try other food stalls. read more

We got the 24pc steamed dumpling combo that comes with multiple flavors along with spicy and mild sauce. We also got the cucumber salad. The dumplings are fresh, handmade, and delicious!!! They outside was chewy and the filling was hot. I liked all of them, but they were all combined in the same container so I couldn't tell which was which. I wish I knew the flavors so I know what to order when I come back. The cucumber salad was refreshing, but I would have liked more sauce mixed in for more flavor. Lao Ma is located in Niu Mama's kitchen along with other restaurants. Plenty of good seating and options. Service was friendly and quick. read more

Lau Ma is a total hidden gem inside the Nio Mama Kitchens food court! If you are a fan of authentic, hand-made Chinese dumplings, you need to get here immediately. Don't let the food court setting fool you--this is top-tier quality. You can really tell the difference when the dough is made fresh; the texture of the wrappers is absolutely perfect, with that ideal "chew" you just can't get from frozen versions. The owner, Sherry Wang, has clearly put her heart into this place. Every dumpling is a literal flavor explosion, whether you prefer them steamed to silky perfection or pan-fried for that golden crunch.Lau Ma is easily the standout spot in Nio Mama Kitchens. Do yourself a favor and grab a tray (or three) next time you're passing through! read more

Lao Ma Dumplings did NOT disappoint! I stopped in for the first time and absolutely loved everything I tried. We will definitely be coming back because there are still so many things on the menu I want to try! I ordered the 8-piece pork & chive dumplings, pan-fried, and they were SO good. That crispy, golden pan-fried exterior with the juicy, flavorful filling was exactly what I was hoping for. I also got the cucumber salad, BBQ pork buns, and a side of the non-spicy garlic soy sauce, and everything was delicious. The BBQ pork buns were soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor, while the cucumber salad was such a refreshing little side. One of my favorite things about Lao Ma is that you can actually see them making the dumplings fresh -- I love when you can see the food being prepared right there! It makes the whole experience feel even more special and authentic. The location itself is also such a cute concept. Lao Ma is tucked inside Niu Mama Kitchens, a small Asian food hall inside a strip mall with several different food concepts all under one roof. It has this cozy, casual, bustling little vibe that makes you want to walk around and try EVERYTHING. Everyone was friendly, the space was clean, and the food came out fresh and delicious. I already know our next visit is going to involve trying more items because I have my eye on several things now! read more

We have tried many places in the greater Phoenix area that were rated good, the quality was always lackluster. We went to Seido Sushi based on the reviews and that it is 10 minutes from our house, hoping this time we would not be disappointed. My test of a good Sushi place is always the Blue Fin Tuna (Maguro) Nigiri it needs to be melt in your mouth fresh; Seido Sushi met my test, the fish was perfectly fresh and proportioned correctly. We also had a California roll that was so delicious the crab mix was really good and fresh. The Shrimp Tempura roll was also really good, again fresh and flavorful. The wait staff were friendly and attentive and the food came out fast. The atmosphere is not fancy, clean and family friendly. The exterior is a bit off putting, do not let that stop you from trying this place. We read some of the reviews about the prices, we found the prices to be on par for the quality of food. If you want good Japanese Sushi try Seido Sushi, we will be back and we are excited that have such a gem close to us!

I ordered a level 3 spice which is their hottest and it was SPICY just how I like it. Portions are fair and the flavors are great. They have a wide variety of specialty rolls to choose from too. It was a smaller establishment, and it was packed, but I was seated right away. I knew what I wanted, but I still took the time to read through the whole menu. As you know, I always order extra to have food for the week. I ordered veggie egg foo young, fried shrimp, and potstickers. I asked the server what veggies come in the egg foo young. She replied, "All of them". I guess I wasn't really paying attention at the time, or maybe I was just thinking about all the veggies I was used to. Either way, I wasn't prepared for what I got. The food came out slowly, and I was hoping they forgot about the potstickers. . . lol. . . they didn't As always, I tried to eat all the shrimp first, because fried shrimp does not heat well in the microwave, and I didn't want the room to smell fishy. The shrimp was hot and crispy, but some of it wasn't clean. The potstickers looked burnt, and I think I only ate 1 or 2. I took the rest back to the hotel, hoping they would taste better later in the week. To my surprise, they did. Now for my favorite thing. . . egg foo young. These three huge patties were brought to the table, and I thought to myself, "What the heck is that?" I tell you, when she said ALL the veggies, she meant ALL the veggies. There was broccoli, onions, celery, mushrooms, I think a carrot, maybe zucchini (don't remember, so maybe not). I picked through everything looking for bean sprouts (I don't think I found any). I probably ate 1/4 of one and took the rest with me. I didn't get to eat the egg foo young. I was approached by an unhoused individual asking for money. I didn't have any cash and offered him the food. I hope he enjoyed it. There were things people were ordering that looked really good. I think if I am in the area again, I would be back to try something else.

After a client meeting, I drove over an hour just to see if it lived up. The waitress who sat me was friendly and confirmed what I was hoping to hear: the chef is from Kuala Lumpur. Jackpot! I ordered a half chicken rice with a bowl of rice for $3.99, plus roti and chicken curry. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Here's how it stacked up: The soup wasn't quite like what I've had in Singapore or Malaysia. The red chili sauce could have been better, too. The chicken itself wasn't fully authentic to my taste, but I was still happy with it. I've had better chicken rice in California, but I'm grateful we even have this option here in Arizona. Would I drive over an hour again just for it? Probably not. But if I were already in the neighborhood, I'd definitely stop by and order it again. It's nice knowing someone from Malaysia is making chicken rice right here in Arizona
