The most raved about had to be the meat lovers omelette topped with green chile. The omelette was huge and flavourful. Definitely needs the green chile sauce. Nice mild heat Chorizo was k we cooked but still moist !!? Pancakes amazing as were the has browns. We've heard and known about this little cafe forever and finally took the plunge to try it. Located at the Chandler Airport, it took a second to figure out the parking and entrance. You have to go through a security gate which is unlocked and you walk along the pathway to the cafe. We were told to sit wherever we wanted when we came in and chose a table by the window. You really couldn't see plans coming in and taking off from where we sat but cool concept. No children, all older folks (we arrived on a Thursday morning around 9ish) and there is seating in and outside. I don't remember our server's name but she was perky, friendly, and helpful and offered up the cinnamon roll suggestion saying they were the best and something they are known for. Ok...it was good and a tad different than your traditional cinnamon roll with a thicker cake-like batter. I had the hash and eggs, nothing special (typical canned hash) and I wish I had requested it crispy because it needed more crisp to it. Eggs over medium and they were cooked to perfection. I asked for sourdough toast and had to chuckle at the perfect circle of melted butter right in the center of both pieces. So much for crust-to-crust! Wife had the chicken fried steak, apparently another well-know and favorite dish. It was good, if you like thick sausage gravy. The meat was tender and she asked for the chunky potatoes, which were seasoned well and cooked to a tender finish. Overall nothing to yell about. It was a good, decent breakfast and what really made it fun was reading all of the great signs posted around the restaurant. Breakfast for two was $40. read more

Had a great breakfast here with my sister last Saturday. We had a few hours to spare while her car got serviced at Toyota so we decided to come here. We got dropped off at the front and we entered through the gate. We made it past the outside dining area and the main entrance was on the front side facing the small planes. Once inside, we were quickly greeted and told to pick a table. We chose to sit inside as the outside was busy and it was already too hot. We sat down and like two seconds later our server came over, introduced herself, took our drink orders, and dropped of the menus. I ordered the steak and eggs with cubed potatoes and my sister ordered the French toast breakfast. Our food was made super fast and it came out not long after we ordered. Everything was hot and flavorful. The steak was really good as it was cooked well and tasted really good. The french toast were delicious and they were thick and fluffy. This is such a fun little cafe next to the airport with indoor and outdoor seating so you can watch the planes. The decor and vibes remind me of a funky diner. Our server, was attentive, friendly and funny. She gave us some solid suggestions including that the cinnamon rolls were a must because they just came out of the oven and boy were we really happy we got it because it was absolutely huge and delicious. it was the right amount of doughy texture and a generous helping of icing on top-yum! In addition to the yummy cinnamon roll, we ordered Chicken fried steak and a standard breakfast- both dishes were good but for sure the standout to us was the cinnamon roll lol. We came here on a Monday morning and it wasn't too busy. It's a nice location being next to the airport so you can watch the planes. You can eat inside or outside. Cute decor. Our server, Shannon, was very nice, friendly and upbeat. She gave us some good recommendations. She mentioned that their cinnamon rolls were just coming out of the oven so of course we ordered one as an appetizer. My husband is a little fussy about cinnamon rolls and he thought it was pretty good and he would order it again. I think it was the favorite item that we tasted. Perfect greasy spoon, which is exactly what I was looking for. You feel like you are walking into flow's diner. I went with the biscuits and gravy, which was two full biscuits and a perfect gravy with just a little bit of kick.. Being that it was the weekend, it was packed and there was a sign-in sheet to get seated. Came here with friends for brunch, and found out they don't have brunch, just breakfast or lunch. Since it was after 11am, only lunch. I really wanted an omelette. Well, on Saturdays they serve breakfast till 12, and Sunday is all day breakfast. I'll have to come back. I did not know this place existed. Very cool place. You are literally in the airport. When you are following your GPS and it tells you to go straight but the sign says Dead end, just keep going straight and you'll find it. Very low key. We ordered salads, sandwich, soup, mushroom burger. Not epic but good enough. I mainly just like the location. You can get take out and sit outside on the second floor and watch the planes take off and land. read more

A local cafe with a local diner feel. This is my second time visiting this nostalgic eatery in the Chandler municipal airport. On Sat March 16th, around noon, this place had 85% of the seats occupied. Airport staff, visitors, children and small plane enthusiasts made up the diverse mix of patrons. The aroma of freshly cooked burgers filled the air as we were seated at a table. I don't have fond memories of the food from my last visit but the Philly Steak sandwich I had on this visit will be fondly remembered! The thinly sliced rib eye, grilled onions and peppers were phenomenal on the toasted french roll! The expertly grilled vegetables elevated this entree for me. I was excited about trying the in house made potato salad but was disappointed due to its mushness and being served chilled would have enhanced its appeal. Basic was the side salad for $5.00 but I felt I should get more vegetables! ;) For me there were hIghs and lows but the philly steak stole the show! read more

We came back again last weekend and despite being packed we got sat immediately. One of the reasons I am not big on eating breakfast out is the long wait but thus far we haven't had to experience that here. I will say if you don't get a seat near the windows or on the runway side of the restaurant then it kind of takes away from the draw of this establishment. We sat furthest from the run way and didn't get to see any aviation action. It would be nice if they updated their plastic covering on the patio so you can see through them. Right now they are not clear enough to see through unless you are right next to them. The food was good but not as good as I remember from the first time. The only real critique I have is they need to clean better. Our table and the items on it, like salt and pepper shakers, etc. were dingy and need a real good cleaning. It is clear that they turn and burn here to get people sat but I wish they would move the items on the table around and clean under them. There was a hair on our table that was half way under the sugar cady and it wasn't from us. This is a good place and I will return but I hope they do some deep cleaning more often. read more

Hanger Café is a long time family favorite. My father was an amateur pilot and an aircraft mechanic. He loved going to Chandler Airport just to watch the planes take off and land, and you can do that right from your seat at the Hanger Café (as he pointed out at every visit ). Good stick to your ribs meals are served, perfect for the clientele the restaurant attracts. Plenty of coffee, fun signs on the wall and efficient sassy waitresses that always made my dad smile. Over many years the things that keep us coming back have only become better, especially after the most recent renovation. My first time ever going here with my husband, we went for breakfast today and wow! We had such an awesome experience all around. The food was yummy, huge portions for a really good price, and AMAZING service. Our server was so nice and personable. Service was fast, food came out very quick and hot. When we went to pay our bill, our server told us that our check had been taken care of by another table and it was a theme for the day that started a few tables before us, and people kept paying it forward. I take a group of up to 12 seniors from a local memory care out to eat several times a month. We recently decided to give Hangar Cafe a try for lunch. My residents loved their meal here. The decor entertained them while they waited for their food and they had so much fun watching the planes come and go. I called ahead to give a heads up about the side of my group and the fact that we would be coming with a bunch of walkers and wheelchairs and they accommodated us wonderfully. The service was great and we look forward to returning again so we can try out their breakfast. read more

This place is a good standard breakfast and lunch spot and has not disappointed me yet! I think their portions r pretty big and am always in a food coma after haha. We started off with the cinnamon roll and boy I cannot recommend this enough! It was the perfect amount of sweetness, warmth, and frosting! definitely a delicious start to our breakfast. Fun location as it's nestled in a small airpark. Upstairs is a viewing area. Service was attentive and friendly. Food is no good. Saw a cook microwave a pancake. Lots of oil used to cook. Water has that stinky sewer water taste (IYKYK). Bus boy took our plates as we were literally chewing which was actually humorous to us. As for the food, a high quality diner meal is what you're going to get. The Denver omelette has big pieces of actual cut up ham (not like the bagged cubes) and the egg was thin. I only had about 45 minutes before I had to go to class and I had just taken a tour of the Chandler air traffic control tower so my friend and I decided to grab a quick lunch here. I got the half sandwich, salad, and soup combo and my friend got the Mediterranean plate. For the soup option I got a bowl of chili which was perfect for the chilly day and my sandwich was a tuna salad. For salad, there's 4 options and I got the Greek salad. The dressing is so good! This cafe is so cool! It's right on the tarmac right next where the planes are parked and you can watch planes take off and land.
