We came here for a late lunch and really enjoyed our pizza. They're usually very busy for dinner but for lunch it is much more manageable. We were not too hungry because we had been eating big dinners along the way and this was the last day of the trip. We just ordered a large cheese pizza. The Pizza Chef himself brought out the pizza and was so nice. The pizza tasted excellent. The flavor of the cheese was delicious. They have so many different type of pizzas here but we just stuck with the traditional. If I were in the area again, I would definitely come back here and try some of their other pies. read more

The location is close to town but be warned that it gets busy after the wild West show at 6 PM. Our service was ok but it was busy. Our food was made with fresh ingredients and it was a treat after busy day. The only thing I guess that keeps me from giving the tomato sauce wasn't quite my liking. Good pizza place located in an old theater location of which it kept the entrance with the theater ticket window still intact. I think the pizza aspires to be Neapolitan style or at least Neapolitan inspired. I got a 16 inch Queen of Savoy (Margherita), which fed two adults and a 10 year old. We were not hungry though, so maybe it could be enough for two hungry adults. The pizza itself was more than decent, even if not stellar. I found that it was not consistently baked, so some crust was more cooked and crunchier, other parts were undercooked and way softer. Even the crunchier parts had a soft and bready texture inside, more on the chewy side. If you like a crunchy crust, this is not the pizza for you. I have the most discerning feedback on pizza and this is top 5 pizzas in the country (I have lived in both NYC and Chicago, in case you need to verify my pizza-resume, and traveled extensively through Italy). The dough is the magic - it's got just the right amount of rise, and air, density and chewiness. The toppings are traditional and unique - take your pick! A half-and-half 16'' satisfied two very hungry people. The pizza was also cooked to perfection - slightly charred on the edges. The service was awesome - shoutout to Ian. We've been living in Jackson for a few months and haven't tried this spot just a few blocks from home. It did not disappoint.... Locals don't talk about it too much because of the Hugh tourist volume, but the pizza is really good!! Love the crust and wood-fired flavor. We ordered a classic cheese, an Extra Peppy Funghi, a prosciutto and mushroom pizza and a pepperoni pizza. The salad was awesome and enough for several people to share and the 12 inch pizzas were more than enough for 1 person. The crust was thin and crispy and the ingredients were all fresh. When we knew we'd be in Jackson Hole for a meal, you know I had to scope out what options there were. Pizza is always a safe bet and I was stoked when I came across this restaurant. Not only was the vibe awesome (in a vintage theater), but they offered vegan cheese, meat substitutes, etc! SIGN US UP! We didn't realize they opened at 5pm, so we did have to wait around a bit beforehand, but at least we were some of the first in line so we knew we'd probably be able to eat fairly quickly. The hubby ordered a Queen of Savoy (Margarita) pizza (small) , my father-in-law and his wife split a large with half Apple Of My Pie and half Bianca, and I built my own pizza with vegan cheese and mushrooms (small). I thought the option of doing half specialty pizzas was really helpful (maybe other places do this, but two thumbs up from us!). Everyone really enjoyed their pizza. Thinner crust is normally not my jam (if I am eating pizza I want to feel like I am EATING PIZZA), but the flavor of the crust was yummy so it was okay in my book. Service was fairly fast (probably because we were one of the first three or four groups seated) and friendly. Love that the kitchen/ ovens are out in the open and you can watch everything being made. Not sure if they will continue doing the QR codes for the menu, but do like it. Most folks have a smart phone with them and it's one less surface to touch/ clean/ etc. I don't foresee us in Jackson Hole again anytime soon, but if we are I would definitely stop back for another pizza (or maybe try a calzone next time). read more

This place was freaking good. That is definitely the short answer on the place. I would highly recommend hand fire to anyone visiting Jackson. It is right off the main town square so conveniently located to tourist stuff. Also from what I hear it is in the old Jackson movie theatre. Makes sense as the ceilings are tall and the spot is massive. Easily 6/5 stars on vibe. Me and some buddies were on a ski trip so we just ordered like 6 different pizzas to share among the group. Wood fired pizza place on the busiest stretch in town. The building seems to be an old movie theater or performance venue that was converted into a restaurant, so the place has super high ceilings. You can see the two pizza ovens and the pizza being made in the back. Went there for weekday dinner, and the place was busy but we didn't have to wait long for a table. For food, we got the signature salad to start. They make it into a tower shape which looks kind of cute, and the salad was zesty and fresh. For the main course, we got the 16 inch prosciutto, mozzarella and spinach pizza. I was expecting the pizza to be very thin, but actually there is a decent amount of substance to the pizza, and a 16 inch was enough for the 3 of us. There was a pretty generous helping of prosciutto, and the fresh-baked pizza tasted pretty good. All that for less than $40, so definitely not expensive. read more

I'll start with the good: the restaurant used to be a movie theater so the space is cool, and the cocktails were really good for a pizza place. Unfortunately I was disappointed on the salads and their pizza. I should have said dressing on the side but they added it on the salads, and it was the most ridiculous amount of dressing. It was inedible so $11 wasted. The gluten free pizza was just okay. We had ordered a 16 inch gluten free but the waitress brought the 12 inch, not letting us know that's the only size they make it. Would be nice to know, we could have ordered another 12 inch. Our pizza was just crust and sauce, they barely put any mozzarella on it. That was a bummer. read more

Unparalleled pizza joint in Jackson. Great variety of standard and eccentric pies and the crust melts in your mouth. The Chewbacca pizza is highly recommended. My husband and I disagree on our rating, but since I'm writing the review I get to pick the number of stars. We came in after a tough bike ride on a Monday night in August. The place was busy but not packed. It has a terrific vibe to it - with a wide open kitchen in the back where you can watch the kitchen crew tossing pizza dough and bantering with one another. We had two pizzas - their version of a margherita and of a pepperoni mushroom. The margherita paired perfectly with their dough. Absolutely delicious. The tomato sauce was light and fresh, and the basil added a flavourful pop. It was as good heated up the next day as it was in the restaurant. The pepperoni mushroom version came baked with jalapeños, which was delicious and added a lovely heat to the pizza. It's a great combo that we will be asking for at our home pizza shop. The only drawback (my husband's comment) was that, according to him, pepperoni and mushroom pizza should be greasier. I don't disagree, but I'm not sure it's worth a star. If you enjoy wood fired thin crust pizza, you'll love it. read more

Great pizza spot (if you have a healthy food budget)! Arrived right around 5pm or so on a Wednesday, and we were seated immediately. This place is downtown Jackson but not directly in the hustle and bustle, which I liked. The only bad thing (in my opinion): the menu is accessed using a QR code on your phone, which I find irritating. I suppose that is an advent of COVID, but having a QR barcode taped to the table is not superior to laminated menus that can be sanitized after each use. Ask any medical professional and they'll tell you affixing things with tape repeatedly accessed by the public is a no-no. I digress. We shared a "big" sausage pepperoni and extra cheese pizza (pictured below). Note: They have two sizes: big and small. Which effectively is the same as a typical large pizza and the typical small pizza. First, the flavor of the pizza is on-point. I'm picky about pizza, and this place is authentic. Quality ingredients meet perfectly fire baked pizza flavor (after eating, you're left with that tell-tale char residue on your fingers). If you like thick crust then this wouldn't be your kind of pizza. This pizza requires a fold to eat; otherwise your slice is gonna flop in your hand. The service and timeliness of the food was great too. Lastly, our "big" pizza and a coke cost ~$30 so this isn't a budget-friendly place. read more

Best pizza in the Midwest besides Chicago. First time ever in Wyoming I thought it was gonna be a disgusting dry state coming from a Cali native. Wyoming impressed me, even exiting Yellowstone, it was still an impressive state to visit. Wyoming itself made it up in my best states list. It used to be the bottom of the list lol. Anyways I was very hungry so my opinion might be biased. The server Ian was the chillest dude I ever had as a server. I don't know how but he was super down to earth. Great job! The pizza on the other hand held up to its own! I ordered the Sweet Italian Sausage and the Love Ya Elote pizza. They are both very good dishes and are worth the taste. The others I have no idea so y'all should try it. The vibe of the restaurant is so nice, they hand make their pizza just like the top restaurants of Chi town and NY. I respect the fire usage as well! Putting the fire in the pizza was the icing on the cake for this restaurant! It's worth the try as a tourist to trying Wyoming Pizza only at this place. I'm not sure that my review will do Hand Fire Pizza justice. I can not rave about this restaurant, the employees or the food enough. We were looking for a space to have a fun casual get together prior to our small Tetons wedding. Weeks prior to our big day we still had not booked a place. We really wanted our "rehearsal dinner" to be nothing like a true rehearsal dinner. We just wanted to thank our friends for coming so far to help us celebrate our big day. I came across Hand Fire Pizza and reached out. Paulie called me back and he was phenomenal from the very beginning! He offered the mezzanine area up for our friends and family. Everything he was able to do for us sounded perfect. Plenty of room to move around. Family style salads. A plethora of pizza choices served up buffet style and a dedicated server. The mezzanine space is above the restaurant with ability to look out over the entire restaurant and kitchen. Paulie also allowed us to reserve it exclusively for our group. When we arrived on our dinner night in early May we were warmly greeted by Ocean. He took our group upstairs as they began to arrive. Rex, our incredibly phenomenal dedicated server that night introduced himself. He made sure that not only my fiancé (at the time), myself, but truly every single one of our guests did not want for anything. He was attentive, efficient, and truly kind. Throughout the entire night I knew he was just a moment away for anything we wanted. A selection of salads served family style throughout all the tables is how the dinner kicked off. We were blown away at how fresh and tasty the ingredients were. If the salads were this good at this pizza joint, we just knew the pizzas were going to blow our minds. And they did do just that. We relied heavily on Rex's expertise when ordering the pizza. I believe we started with 6 large pies and then just kept the pizzas coming from there until every was sufficiently full. The pizzas were all delicious, but there were a couple of that wow'ed the group. Such as Drivin' Me Caprese, The Chew-Baca, and MeatBawls. We ordered all of those thanks to Rex and his suggestions. Hands down if you can only get one pizza please make it The Chew-Baca! It has Herbed ricotta cheese, bacon, caramelized onion, fresh arugula with a spicy Slide Ridge honey drizzle on it. And it is absolutely fabulous! The entire night could not have been more perfect! The entire staff was stellar! They made sure we were taken care of the entire time. Our entire group had the best time and I know it was in part to all the employees that helped us along with the phenomenal food and drink. If you are looking for a good pizza while in Jackson Hole please either find your way to Hand Fire Pizza or call and order up a pie to go. My suggestion is The Chew-Baca.
