The food is all wonderful! Pretty much have to have a reservation even if you want to have Ramen on Saturday.

Katsu curry rice! So good! Tastes like a mother's love.

Everyone needs to know! This is the best Japanese curry I've ever had! The curry is everything you want in COMFORT FOOD and much more! It's tastes like a mother's love and each bite a heart-warming hug. I got the Katsu curry, so it came with yummy, crispy pork cutlets. Having eaten A LOT of curry, I'd have to say this is one of my favorites! First time here and can't wait to come back! I want to try the other menu items, but might end up getting the curry again!

I've been wanting to try this place out for awhile. I'm so glad we finally came today! The 5 star rating here is definitely deserved. So, luckily I read the reviews before coming and knew what we had to do. We were greeted by the owner and told which number table to seat ourselves at. Then, you pull out the menu and an order form/pencil from the side of the table and mark what you want. You then turn your form in to the cooks. I believe it's the cute couple who cook that own this place. I am a huge fan of Japanese culture and so I'm always trying out different recipes & watching Japanese tv shows. Their food always looks delicious. This place reminded me a lot of the show "Midnight Diner" - very cozy & intimate. It's a self serve establishment - the only difference is they serve you your food. There is also an area with an ice machine and water (hot or cold) and a small fridge of sodas that you help yourself to - along with napkins & items (just let the cashier/cook know what sodas you'll be having & they'll add it to your tab) When our food came out, it smelled & tasted delicious. My sister enjoyed her chicken katsu curry and I enjoyed my lunch katsu special. The miso soup was delicious as was the salad & dressing :) When you're done eating, you take your dirty plates to the rack and then pay your tab & leave.

I honestly do not trust any other Japanese Gourmet Chef in Utah other than Chef Roy and ofcourse his wife. This local restaurant is ran by two people. I have advanced metastatic breast cancer, and so I have to watch what I eat . Ofcourse the only person I trust with making sushi or any meal for that matter is Chef Roy. I fear the day that they ever retire. I hope I die before they do because this place is my home away from home. The culinary works of art that come from this very tiny business, are blessed. I strongly believe that their food is blessed. I think that they have survived this pandemic because they cook with integrity and humility. I only trust this Chef to make my sushi, because he is a subject matter expert on of his craft and perhaps. I do not come here to be waited on by a waiter, but more so, to enjoy Chef Roy's Japanese gourmet mastery and excellently presented dishes that far outdo ANY other restaurant in Utah. Hands down. I trust them with my life.

I visited here was a great way to cap a long day of studying. From the small garden out front to the cozy bar seats inside, the place felt inviting and was a great detour for a night out. As a solo first timer on a not-too-busy night, it was easy to find a seat at the bar and to figure out the order forms found on the table. There are also food order forms at the register for takeout. I ordered the agedashi tofu (fried tofu in broth) appetizer and tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet), which came with sides. The agedashi was excellent, from the silky-smooth tofu to the crispy exterior to the savory dashi broth that it soaked up. The tonkatsu was tasty, especially with the tangy dipping sauce and the fluffy rice. I'm glad to have found a restaurant that I will definitely return to!

Hanamaru still continues to be my favorite go to authentic Japanese cuisine in Utah. I really don't mind driving an hour from Herriman just to dine here. I really love their tempura and Nabeyaki udon soup. The katsu is excellent here too. Sushi is great and the owners are very friendly and nice. Bumping my original 4 to 5 stars and well deserving!

Gosh, what a cute charming little family restaurant! I can tell it's popular because we arrived in the parking lot 10 minutes before dinner opening and there were already two other cars waiting for the restaurant to open. The place filled up in under 15 minutes. Not a lot of tables so I imagine it's hard to get a seat right away most nights unless you're here by 5:30pm. Ok, let's get to the point! The reason I came here is because my favorite Japanese meal, the buckwheat soba! I had it on a trip to japan and I believe no where else in Utah serve soba this way. You have to dip the noodles in a cup of sauce that is a perfect blend of sweet and savory. For me the noodles were a bit too hard but the sauce and the tempura shrimp were delicious! I was satisfied and actually, so full because the portion was huge! They also serve sushi, ramen (only for lunch), udon, and street snacks like croquettes. Definitely worth the drive to Ogden!

Do they have all you can eat?

    No they do not

Is this run by the same proprietors as the former Temari? The menu and ordering/service model looks to be almost in the same order.

I don't think it is. I've heard the other place shut down so the owners could retire and I also heard someone may have passed. Not sure if either one is correct. What I do know is the ramen is outstanding.

As someone who works in the food and beverage industry myself I appreciate her attentiveness, hospitality and great demeanor. If you never experienced hotpot/ Korean bbq buffet she is the perfect person to help guide your experience. Now to the food. I highly enjoyed both the hot pot and Korean bbq. I got the tom yum broth with thinly sliced beef to as a protein and the garlic chicken as well as the short ribs for the grill portion. All of it was so tasty. My favorite part about this restaurant is that they have a cold condiment and protein station to add to your hot pot. There was a great array of different noodles, sea food, meatballs , and veggies to add. I love kimchi and seaweed salad so it was nice to grab my own size and portion of each instead of waiting in a server to grab me more. Another favorite is that all drinks are included such as fountain drinks and even different styles of bottled teas. Over all the experience was wonderful and my family and I will be back again! The marinated meats, however, did not have much flavor, and I missed the banchan that other Korean restaurants serve. I did like that you can choose hot pot, Korean bbq, or both. The chefs were a blast to talk to and fired off spot-on recommendations faster than we could eat them. Our server, Sean, was the ultimate wingman--he kept a close eye on us and seamlessly handled our kitchen orders (classic Edamame and perfectly light, tempura-fried Shishito Peppers) so the sushi chefs could just focus on the sushi / nigiri / sashimi. The food: The One-Bite Wonder: The Mussel Shooter. It's a sizeable, bite with a raw quail egg and avocado. Do not skip this. The Nigiri: The lightly seared Black Cod literally melted on contact. The Sawara (Spanish Mackerel), Ishidai (Knifejaw), and Fuji Sake (Salmon) were just absurdly fresh and tender. The sushi roll: The Kinkantaro roll. It's fresh salmon topped with chilis and thin slices of kumquat. That little hit of sweet-tart citrus against the light spice is absolute genius. Top-tier hospitality, zero pretension, and incredible food.

Rave Review for So Delicious Japanese Wasabi in Ogden, Utah…read more (5/5 stars) Oh man, where do I even start? My wife and I stumbled upon So Delicious Japanese Wasabi on a whim during a date night in Ogden, and let me tell you--it's officially our new go-to spot for sushi that doesn't just satisfy, it transcends the ordinary. Tucked away in the heart of Ogden, this place has that perfect unpretentious vibe: cozy lighting, friendly staff who treat you like family, and a menu that's a treasure trove of creative rolls that scream "fresh from the sea" with every bite. We dove headfirst into their specialty rolls, and each one was a flavor explosion. The Rainbow Roll was a vibrant masterpiece--layers of fresh salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and avocado draped over sticky rice, topped with a rainbow of fish slices that melted in your mouth. It was like a sunset on your plate, bright, balanced, and bursting with umami. Then came the Dream Come True Roll, and yeah, it lived up to its name. Tempura shrimp, spicy tuna, and cream cheese wrapped in soy paper, finished with a drizzle of eel sauce and masago? Pure bliss. The textures played off each other so perfectly--crunchy, creamy, spicy, sweet. We were already hooked. But the Royal Roll? That one elevated the whole meal. King crab, asparagus, and cucumber inside, crowned with seared scallops and a caviar flourish. It felt indulgent, like royalty-approved sushi, with every piece screaming sophistication without a hint of stuffiness. And hold onto your chopsticks--the Thunder Roll stole the show. When our server brought it out, they lit it on fire right at the table! Flames dancing over the spicy yellowtail and jalapeño-filled roll, infusing it with that smoky edge before it even hit our plates. The heat from the torch caramelized the tops just right, adding this incredible char that paired insanely well with the kick inside. We were cheering like kids at a fireworks show--total spectacle and 100% delicious. What really set everything apart, though, was the rice. Usually, sushi rice is a supporting player, but here? Unusually large grains that somehow stayed separate yet clung together in perfect harmony. Seasoned to absolute perfection-- that subtle vinegar tang and just the right amount of sweetness-- it was the canvas that made every roll shine. I've had sushi all over Utah, and this rice game is next-level; it elevates the whole experience. Service was spot-on: quick, attentive, and with that genuine warmth that makes you want to linger. Prices are fair (especially with their roll deals), portions are generous, and we left stuffed, smiling, and already plotting our next visit. If you're in Ogden craving sushi that wows, skip the chains and head straight to So Delicious Japanese Wasabi. My wife and I found our new favorite spot--trust me, you will too.
