Food was really good! I had the pineapple with level 2 spice and the massaman. Both were really good but I liked the pineapple a little better. I've been to a couple locations and they are both really good. I will say this one was closing early and I couldn't order anything fried with an hour left to close. We ate at the Ogden location: This is the best Thai we've eaten in Utah. We loved the Tom Kha and shared it for our appetizer. Then had the Khao Soi Ribeye and it was so delicious. The curry sauce was amazing and the steak cooked perfectly. My son had the crispy duck and it was equally delicious. They had tons of gluten free options and they were clearly marked on the menu. The prices are a bit on the higher end ($35 for ribeye entree) but they were big portions and we enjoyed our leftovers the next day. We will definitely be back! read more

We returned back here to eat again because the food is amazing! Once again we were satisfied with what we ate. Everything taste amazing! Our only flaw in this restaurant is service is slow. I have been back a few times and each time I have returned and asked for limes for my water I have to remind the server 2-3x because they forget. Other then forgetting, the servers are very kind and maintain our waters full. This last time we went we started with the t Wantons for appetizer then ordered Nam Tok and Khao Soi Chicken. I have ordered the Nam Tok 2 different times and I will say their food is very consistent! Food: Tom Kah was perfect, I love how places do it SLIGHTLY different. I really like lots of onions in the soup and the broth was excellent. Pumpkin curry was also delicious, I don't know if it is just "in season" or whatnot, but now that I know they have it. Slight downside for being out of coffee and oolong tea, but that's okay. Atmosphere: It's a small place inside, make sure you call ahead if you have a big party. It's a tight little place inside, but it was pretty bumping. So you know it's good if there are a lot of people. Nicely lit, good place for a date or just to relax with friends. And I didn't take a picture of their menu, but it was really nice, looks like they just made new ones...? And on the front page, they show you "how spicy" a 1-5 is so you know for reference. That was a nice touch! Price: Not bad, it's not the cheapest I've ever seen but not the most expensive either. App, entree and drink will run you about 40$. You can always split an app though. Service: The server was nice, no complaints there. They were busy and running around, but they appeared to stay cool. Overall: My goto is TK soup. If you get that wrong, you're hosed. I have eaten here many times and today was the 1st bad experience. I was there for lunch and tried something new that looked good on the lunch menu. I took one bite and didn't like the flavor. My sister tried it and she didn't like it either. The server said she couldn't exchange it for something else since I took a bite already. I talked to the chef who was willing to make me something else. He knew how to treat customers. He was very polite and wanted to please. The server called the owners who said no. My food was taken away since I didn't like it and I was still charged the 16 dollars plus tax for my 1 bite of food.!! Of all the Thai restaurants in Ogden. This is one of the best. Great authentic food and great service. They have great selection of classic Thai dishes. Pretty decent food and a great take out option. The spice level was just right and the ingredients were fresh. I'm going with 3 stars because the service was rough. One waiter was holding the place down while some chick that looked like she was fiending for her next hit worked the hostess station and helped serve tables. She was all over the place and forgot our drinks and was overall not the kind of person that you put in the front of the house. 2nd time here and was just as impressed. Did date night with the Mr. And wanted him to taste the amazing Northern Thailand style food. He had a Thai tea, I had hot tea, sometimes they serve the hot tea in a cute elephant tea pot. Went with the chicken satay, he did the Laan special curry, and I did the Pad Kra Prow. After being served lemon water, the owner came to take our order. They actually just opened, 3 months ago. We each took 2 dishes, 1 starter and 1 main dish. I had the cucumber salad; ingredients were fresher and the sauce served on the side was delicious. I usually eat my restaurant salads without sauce as I don't find them good. For this one, I wished I had more of it! Then I ordered a special Nam Tok. The meet and sauce was full of flavor, I loved it. It was served with a side of sticky rice, simple but delicious. We finished with a mango sticky rice, it was a reasonable size and well prepared. Overall we had a great experience. Even though we waited a long time to get our food and it all came out sporadically throughout the 2 hours we were there, the food was good enough to make up for it. The owner was rushing around trying to keep everyone happy. It was the last day of restaurant week in Ogden and they had a ton of people in there as well as waiting for takeout orders so I assume it was a lot for them. We got the trio appetizer and we loved the peanut sauce. The crab rangoons were creamy and delicious. We got the Penang Nua Tung from the restaurant week menu and it was good. It was a huge portion and I loved that the steak was tender and seasoned well. It made for a good lunch the next day as well! This restaurant is nestled in the Junction so lots of fun things nearby. They were friendly and quick to seat our group of four on a Thursday night. Their menu is huge and everything we ordered was tasty. The best was probably my pad soon wen and the fresh spring rolls. The pad gra prow was amazing, but they top it with a fried egg and the yolk was completely cooked through. I also wasn't a huge fan of their sticky rice, but most meals come with the jasmine rice so that wouldn't typically be an issue for me. Overall very good food. Fast, fresh, and flavorful. read more

Green Curry has a personal preference. Some like it sweet, some don't. Laan Thai does it right for me. Lots of coconut milk, fresh basil, bamboo shoots, sweet, spicy thick comfort food. Prices were good too. Like Arnold says, "I'll be back"! read more

Have been to Laan Thai a few times now. The food is always fantastic. They have the best Tom Yum soup in town. The chicken pho has a hint of sweetness perhaps from the rock sugar? Both of the soups warm the soul on a chilly day. I've tried all three Laab dishes: pork, beef, and chicken. All three were delicious, the pork dish was my favorite. The Pad See-Ew and Drunken Noodle dishes had great balance of noodle, protein, and veg. I always want a little more sauce on Drunken Noodles, but that's more personal preference because it's what I want on every Drunken Noodle dish I've tried, and I've tried many. You can vary the spice level on most dishes on a 1-5 scale, mild to hot. The five is a pretty honest hot, which is nice. Service is friendly and attentive. They can be slow or understaffed, but that hasn't always been the case. If you are looking for Thai food in downtown Ogden, this is the place to try first. read more

I love Thai food and have been all over the east coast and Thailand, this place is amazing. Might even be in the top 5 in the US I've been to. I got take out pad woonsen and Larb Moo last time. This time I had Lao papaya salad (loved the fermented fish sauce, perfect amount of funk). Steamed dumplings were good, as were fresh rolls. The Gai Khao Soi was amazing though. Love the fried noodles on the side, they don't get soggy. Portions are big. Heat levels are accurate, I love spice and went with 3 because I didn't want to push it tonight. Ogden had a gem here. I did not like that a credit card machine is just put for the table and waited by the waitress instead of bringing a check but that may just be me and others might be ok with it. We stopped into Laan Thai after a movie. Will we return? Absolutely!!! We were greeted right away and the service was prompt when ordering. We had the Shrimp Tempura for an appetizer, it was hot, cooked to perfection and the orange sauce that came with it was a great compliment to the shrimp. For the main course we had Orange Chicken and Pepper Steak which comes with Jasmine Rice. The food was hot, fresh and seasoned perfectly. The portions were large, leaving the two of us leftovers. Wow!! I found my new favorite Thai place. I've eaten a lot of Thai food and this is by far my favorite. I got the Massaman curry with chicken, it was incredible. I highly recommend it if you like peanut sauce. My husband got the crispy egg noddles in gravy. It wasn't my favorite, but he loved it. He hasn't been able to find crispy noodles that good any where else in Utah. We also got the orange chicken to try and I was very impressed. Everything was very high quality. The service was great. One of the better Thai places I've been in the country. We have come a few times now and each time the dishes are delicious. Flavorful, fresh and fresh off the stove piping hot. The crispy duck curry is a treat. Pineapple curry and massaman curry excellent as well. Portions are enormous.
