The Halfway Cafe is a West Roxbury staple. A go to place for consistent, good quality food that you can trust any day of the week. I like coming in when there's a game to watch on the flat screen TVs that surround the restaurant walls. It is a small restaurant with a townie feel - I can tell they have a lot of regulars that come in (I may be becoming one of them). When dining in, they serve fresh popcorn. Sometimes the popcorn is salty but I guess it depends who makes the batch that day. I've ordered the clam chowder a few times, it's good and rich. I recommend the burgers / sandwiches and any of their drinks.

Great place in Dedham for so many reasons. Menu has an amazing selection and changes seasonally. Drinks are delicious and beer is cold. The popcorn is the best! Services is on point and very friendly. Outside patio is nice too!

I had heard amazing things about Birdies Hot Chicken and knew I had to try it!…read more First, I want to shout out the amazing service I got. The cashier/server was super friendly. I asked what's the most popular order and recommended the sliders to me since that's what they're known for! I decided on a slider and tender combo that was about $14-15. Don't be fooled when ordering a slider though, they call it a slider but it's HUGE! I usually think of sliders as small bites but this was a whole full sandwich. I went for medium heat and I thought it wasn't too spicy but definitely had a small amount of heat to it. The chicken came out hot, crispy, perfectly seasoned, and very flavorful! Not to mention, the chicken was also super juicy. I really enjoyed their Birdie Sauce to dip my fries and chicken tender in. I also liked the fact they drizzle the sauce on the slider as well. The sauce was super tasty and paired well with the chicken. It's similar to Dave's Sauce or Raising Canes but unique and great in its own right. I also liked that they included pickles but definitely wish I had more than 3 pieces. Birdies is an awesome place to grab a quick take-out meal or sit down. There are some old-school arcade games (which are free to play!!) that are awesome and give off a cool vibe! There are a few tables to sit down at as well and the restaurant itself is very clean. Overall, I would recommend giving Birdies a try as I thought the food was super delicious!

I did the order on the app and was able to pick it up quickly in the store upon arrival. The spice level on the chicken leg cord it was very good. It's a dry spice not a wet spice the chicken my quarter was maybe a little small for some but it was only 899 for the order so that's actually pretty good in my view. An additional chicken leg quarter is 299 which is also good. It seems to be a zing to the macaroni and cheese and a person who might've been the owner of the manager said that shouldn't be, but maybe that was just me. Probably gonna try the chicken wings next time I come here

I called earlier in the day to double check if this was true as it seemed too good 2 B true in this day and age. Indeed it was true. I met the Jeffersons and Moey there that nite and was hangry. I most certainly was not there to play games. The hostess Gia seated us in our "usual" booth and she happened to be our waitress as well. We all ordered sodas (refills included) and all choose between Boneless, Breaded or Naked. We all chose Breaded except for Tams who chose Boneless. We all got different "sarces." Jefferson and I got Medium Buffalo and the gurls got Garlic Parm or Lemon Parm or something and BBQ or something. I augmented my Wings with Ghost Pepper Sauce and Hooters Hot Sauce and dipped in Bleu Cheese while the rest of the party dipped in Ranch. What ensued was a sowdown that seemed too good 2 B true... Plate after plate of delish Wings flew our way. I simply could not believe this was not a dream. 15 bucks for AYCE? And these Wings were "da kine" as well -hot n' fresh. Needless to say I ate until I could not eat no more. I do reckon I had 23 wings. Mind you that each round comes with fries. The gurls pigged out real good too but not as much so as me and Jefferson. These Wings were scrump AF. Our waitress Gia was ausum sauce. Wicked friendly and smiley and did everything perfectly in this melee of a sowdown. Sauces and bones and everything were flying about in a whirlwind. Thank you, Hooters! See you next time, YELPers.

That being said, I was never taught sex-ed. So for twenty years before my vasectomy I was dropping hot loads everywhere like I was a laundromat. There was a period of my life when I was with a different girl every night. I can only wonder how many of my seedlings germinated into little sprouts. I probably have 15 different plants now, fully grown. It was the 70's, what do you expect?! Hooters kind of reminds me of that time. The food is great, the staff are wonderful, and it's a place I can go to so I don't have to feel alone so much. There's much more than a rack of ribs here, if you catch my drift.

Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The restaurant itself looks clean, has plenty of space to dine in, and parking is easy, no complaints there. Now, the food... I should've known something was off when I had to drive with the windows down because of the smell. It was an overwhelming mix of vinegar and hot sauce. My boyfriend ordered sliders with cheese fries. The tenders were completely overloaded with seasoning -- to the point where it was excessive and unpleasant. He chose the "mild" spice level, and there was no heat at all. I ordered the chicken sandwich (medium) with cheese fries. The sandwich itself had potential, but the single tender packed with heavy, overpowering seasoning ruined it. It honestly ended up being some of the worst chicken I've ever had. I also ordered a reaper tender (which requires signing a waiver), and I regret it. Yes, it's hot, but beyond that, it's just not good. It tastes like the chicken was rolled in every spice possible without any balance. I love spicy food and was excited to try it, but this was just unpleasant. The portions, especially the cheese fries, were small for the price. I spent about $50 for two meals, two drinks, and one extra tender, which didn't feel worth it at all. The slush drinks (similar to Minute Maid) were also disappointing -- they tasted sour, almost like the machine hadn't been properly cleaned. Overall, I'd rate this a 3/10, and those points are entirely for the customer service from Kimani and Lisa. If I could get a refund, I would.
